The movie has parts in it that are really good, Sam Jackson, the seemingly villain and the action and score. It’s mediocre in in some parts due to the fact I think they didn’t know what to really do with the origin story of this character before the release of Endgame. After now both have come out I’m looking forward to the sequel(s) to see how they’ll improve.

Not the type of jump scare horror but the more unknowing aspect of where the Alien is. I think the Alien only has around 3-4 minutes of screen time but it’s perfect, you never know when it’s going to pop out.

I would love to give this film 5 stars, but coming from a critical standpoint I’ll point out that the movie is long, once you get to skull island(1 hour in) the pacing kicks up until a little bit towards the end of the second act. But if anything the final act is perfect, it’s a tragic, beautiful ending that leaves a pit in your stomach.
