My son is the Spider Man fan. We were watching them back when Raimi started directing them. He's long grown, and I typically only watch them now when he's visiting. Always his idea. I mean, I like the movies, of course. I just don't get too excited over them, except for this one. I could watch it 100 times! Its like a scrapbook of all the installments brought beautifully together. I loved that the cast from Spidermans past were brought back in their roles. It wasn't just a movie experience. It was a sudden flow of heartfelt memories of anticipating and watching the franchise with my family through the decades.

I Really Wanted To Love It, But...

Its been such a miserable spring clean this year that I determined a top quality air cleaner was mandatory.
I was drawn to this unit because it boasts a 1000sf capacity and doubles as a heater and fan. The smart IQ feature was very alluring as well. I expected it to give horrendous readings based on the extent of my itching, eye watering, nose running, misery. The unit claimed that my air quality was 100%... and therefore would not run. I was not on the auto or economy setting.
I tried it in various locations around the house, including inches from the cat box, the bedroom that hadn't been dusted in 3 months, the single pane picture window that faces the dirt road and wooded lot across the street... the reading didn't budge, until I made a quesadilla. Then it dropped to 48 on the other end of the house? It was the only brief period I could get it to run.
It is a big, sturdy, impressive looking unit. I didn't think the remote was as bad as most of the reviews. But I want something that will serve as a continuous air cleaner without the heat or fan function, which will pull a higher electricity draw. 1500w is a significant hit on the electric bill. The only option I could determine to ensure continuous air circulation was to set it to fan or heat?
Given my symptoms and 2 cats in the home, I just found it impossible to believe my air quality was as read.

Outstanding For The Price

I was looking for one very specific feature in a fitness band. I wanted real time feedback on my cardio zones during my workouts. If the band did nothing else, I still would have been happy. IT DOES!
Of course, this offers a whole lot more and I'm pretty impressed with it across the board.
This is my 3rd fitness band. While I am no expert, I do have some basis to compare to.
I like the band design on this one. You simply pull it to the desired tension and push the pin straight down into the notch. There is no excess band to tuck away. I found that is what left indentions in my wrist on my previous 2 bands. There are a limited number of colors to choose from, so its function over flair.
Set up was very easy! It was at a 30% out of the box. Once the app was downloaded, it paired within seconds. Charging is equally simple, and it takes a charge respectably quickly. The app does have a store where you can purchase face displays and an app for relaxation/meditation that you can demo to feel out. It also has some features that offer insight into your overall health based on your accumulative data. I haven't been using it long enough to generate a report yet, but it's a feature I have not experienced in a device before and it looks like it will be a useful tool.
I know what my basic vitals trend at the doctors office and these readings (O2, heart rate) are more on par with what I expect to see there. My steps seem to be accurate (I wear on my non dominate hand) and... this is kind of a biggie... the band seems to log my sleep accurately. My others would log me as napping when my band was on the charger. This one seems self aware enough to know the difference. Its rated as water resistant, but I just top off the charge when I am bathing or washing dishes. It's kept at 90% or higher. I do use a couple of continuous monitoring functions that report a higher battery drain but gauge that even with those on, I could probably go 6 days between charges.
It offers a good range of workout categories. Certainly enough to cover all my basics: yoga, weights, walking, running.
A couple other features I am pleased with is that I can locate my phone from the band face (the phone will chime) and I can remotely control my music from the other end of the house. It offers the other standard stuff too. Who's calling, alarm notification, text notification... and some not so standard: a breathing exercise, a female specific health tracker... Ahh, it's Alexa enabled too, but not a feature I personally use. And another surprise this morning. I got startled and my heart rate spiked. The app sent a push notification to my phone that said stress was detected. How neat?
I am absolutely thrilled with the function and accuracy for the price range!

I was so excited to see the maker's behind Until Dawn were releasing a new story and with such an epic cast ensemble of cult/horror greats: Lance Henriksen, Grace Zabriski and David Arquette! I could hardly wait the two days it took me to do a quick revisit through Until Dawn to play it - and I feel that probably lessened my enjoyment of this game. It's a stand-alone story and not at all necessary to have played the first to enjoy this. In fact, I think that actually set me up with certain expectations of what this should be, to then be mildly disappointed.
The story line was definitely satisfactory. There were some distinct changes in the style of play. The QTE's are oversimplified. It has kind of an open feel to it but although your characters can cover areas, there's little to interact with. I thought the inventory menu was not all it could be (to review clues, evidence...) But from a "choose your path story" - that is all covered. I've played it twice now and was actually surprised at how such a seemingly insignificant variation took things in a very different and unexpected direction. Ultimately though, I just don't think it has the replay value as it's predecessor. It does, however, have a couple new and unique features that I don't want to spoil here.
I'm glad I bought it...on sale.

Good Origins Story

I had previously only seen the 1999 remake of this and, despite the cast, it just didn't leave a lasting impression.
I read or watched some "top 10" list that mentioned this one more favorably than the later version - and, immediately recalled how much I enjoyed Vincent price's House on Haunted Hill - so I was pleased to see this here at a favorable price.
From the very beginning of the movie it was clear that this was based on Hill House and offered a great deal more insight to the houses origins - which I felt added much greater (and enjoyable) context to the story.
Additionally - I had previously watched the first season of The Haunting of Hill House and...just felt that I had to be missing something? So I didn't follow the show beyond that (Obviously I have not read the book) - but this version has definitely convinced me to give that another watch through and I believe it will enhance my enjoyment of that as well.

I procrasted on picking this one up for some time -and then when I finally decided to order it - it was out of stock, for months, it seemed.
Based on the HG Wells novel - and a reboot before reboots were a thing (first film version 1977) - well casted to include Marlon Brando and one of my favorite performances by Val Kilmer. This viewing was even more pleasant as I now readily recognize Fairuza Balk and David Thewlis - AND this was the first time I've caught that Ron Perlman was also in this.
A timeless story and the effects don't look dated!
An excellent addition to anyone's collection!

I almost passed it by from reading the synopsis - it seemed like a story that we've seen reheated over and over - but: it did have some pretty significant positive reviews, so I decided to give it a shot and I am glad I did!
Scaled down movie, small cast, simple plot - but I thought the "effects" were pretty darn great. Don't overlook the special features! (I believe it was the first featurette?) The guy in the creature suit is a marvel! It made me want to watch the movie again right away!

The storyline was reminiscent of Don't Breathe - not as intense of a thriller, but it did have a few nice little "thrills" in it - and a pretty satisfying twist at the end.
I'm not disappointed that I bought it - but don't feel it's going to have much replay value.

Call of the Wild was the first "chapter book" I ever read.
Now I am old enough to have mistaken Harrison Ford for Jeff Bridges on the thumbnail ;) (but definitely no disappointment there).
The filmmakers did an exceptional job in relaying the story. I would absolutely give it a higher star rating if the CGI weren't so obvious. All other aspects of this film definitely drew me in for a satisfactory emotional ride.
Please don't misinterpret this as dissatisfaction with the film overall. It was well done and I would recommend it to other viewers. But it could have, and should have - been truly phenomenal. I just feel that the cartoonish aspect of the CGI distracted from a few scenes.

I purchased this during the Black Friday sale knowing nothing of it other than reading Jason Bateman was involved and that it was a horror themed (Stephen King) mini-series. I had been so impressed with the first season of Castle Rock that I decided to give this a try.
Being of "a certain age" - I'm an obligatory fan of Jason Bateman. I most readily associate him with lighter, comedic roles - but every now and then we get to see him in projects that highlight his versatility.
I don't want to throw up any spoilers, but I will say: I felt kind of duped a couple episodes in - which was quickly redeemed with the discovery that his contribution to this project was behind the camera as well. (This should not be misinterpreted as that the show was bad! Just an unexpected plot twist early on).
I did feel that the ending fell a little flat but was necessary for closure to the storyline.
Good value for the price and I will most likely watch it again in the future.

Factory Reset Will Remedy Messaging App Issue

I had the identical issue with my most recent Motorola purchase.
All features of my phone worked out of the box on initial setup except for the messaging app. Even more frustrating is that I could send messages - I just couldn't receive them. It was nearly a week before I had the opportunity to return the Best buy and their resident team immediately identified the issue. Something about the SIM card "being out of date" for these new Motorola models? The representative at the cell phone kiosk said that replacing it (my 6 year old SIM card) with a new SIM card would immediately remedy the issue - but the problem there was - my carrier is not represented by Best buy or they would have simply exchanged my SIM card on the spot and free of charge.
I spent another frustrating week attempting to obtain a newer SIM card through my carrier - who was incredibly uncooperative. The matter was ultimately resolved by simply resetting the phone to factory settings and repeating the setup process. I then immediately received all of the text messages from the previous two weeks!
This would have been such a simple process if I had known to do it the day I got my phone!
I hope this information is helpful to others in avoiding the same situation. I have been satisfied with my Motorola phone operation ever since!

Why does my Motorola moto one ace not let me receive txt messages or use video chat with my straight talk sim, but am able to send txt messages and use all other features?
I recently had the same issue with my most recent Motorola purchase.
Everything worked on initial setup except for my messaging app, which could send but was unable to receive messages.
I have been with my third party carrier (and the same SIM card) for 6 years. The first suggestion I was given was to put in an updated SIM card - but I could not get cooperation from my carrier in sending me one. If you are currently with a carrier that is supported by Best Buy they will replace the SIM card for you in store free of charge.
The resolution that worked for me was to factory reset my phone. Had I known to do this immediately - it would have saved me so much stress and hassle! I immediately got the full backlog of text messages that I had not been receiving in the two weeks prior to the reset.
I would definitely recommend trying this if you are experiencing the same issue with your Motorola phone on initial setup!
