I have always just absolutely adored this film!
With Paul Newman you can never go wrong but this movie is just super fun - particularly if you can remember what hockey games were like back in those days.
If you have enjoyed movies such as The Replacements, Wild Cats, Major League and Semi-Pro but have not yet seen Slap Shot, definitely add this to your queue!
You do not have to be a hockey fan to enjoy this film, but this film may enhance your enjoyment of hockey!

I avoided purchasing The Omen titles for years because I remember when, as a girl -these were one of the two storylines that absolutely terrified me.
Skipping ahead, an undisclosed amount of years... I am filling out my collection of Lance Henriksen titles and had no recollection of him being associated with this franchise but saw this collection at an exceptional price.
The story still stands solid! These days I can watch them and manage to sleep with the lights off, but they still rank highly on my "creep out meter".
Attractively packaged at an excellent value.

I was overjoyed to see they had release this film on Blu-ray!
I am not going to post rave reviews about the story or the acting... It's just a full-on fun family appropriate 80's movie, with all that that implies. If you are a viewer "of a certain age" I believe you will already understand exactly what that means. For those that are a fan of the Stranger Things series that have not already seen this film - this is a perfect example of the spirit the show tries to replicate.

A Masterpiece Worthy of Higher Definition

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to upgrade my format on this movie!
In my personal list of top science fiction films of all time, this definitely seats in the top three!
For years, I did not believe that there was a substantial difference in picture quality between the DVD and Blu-ray format but after replacing my plasma television with a 4K unit I can hardly bear watching movies in the old format.
If you haven't already upgraded your old DVD, I highly recommend making the move today. And if you have not already seen this film - you need to change that...right away!

I was absolutely ecstatic to find this here on Blu-ray!
I have been updating my DVD collection to higher resolution media...I have many OOP and other titles that were just never released on Blu-Ray and I thought surely this would forever remain in one of those categories and once my old and worn DVD copy reached it's end it would just be lost to me.
The story is a solid sci-fi thriller. My kids, of course, thought it was a little "cheezy" by their high-tech-snob standards but solid performances by Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Emilio Estevez, Mick Jagger and fun parts featuring David Johansen, Jerry Hall and Amanda Plummer make this movie as fun for me today as it was for me in my teens!

A story line that draws you in, strong performances from the entire cast and just enough foreshadowing so that when the big twist is revealed (no spoilers) it makes a massive impact - and then you will want to watch it again right away - and then again later - and then again later...
Even better in higher definition!
If you have not yet seen this film, change that - right now! You will not be disappointed.

I had not seen this movie in ages and was surprised to find it on Blu-Ray on my last visit!
I always liked Isabella Rossellini but this, in my opinion, was Dennis Hoppers most stand out role. (If you have not seen this film before...he gives an intense, but disturbing performance, but that is what was called for).
I would be selective in whom I would recommend it to.

You just can't go wrong with Mel Brooks!
I have had this on DVD for ages and it was definitely time to upgrade. My son is also a big Mel Brooks fan but his wife has not seen any of his movies so I bought them a copy as well.
I picked up two copies of Robin Hood: Men In Tights and High Anxiety on this trip as well and was ECSTATIC to find the last. I have been looking for that one for ages!

Factory Reset Will Remedy Messaging App Issue

I had the identical issue with my most recent Motorola purchase.
All features of my phone worked out of the box on initial setup except for the messaging app. Even more frustrating is that I could send messages - I just couldn't receive them. It was nearly a week before I had the opportunity to return the Best buy and their resident team immediately identified the issue. Something about the SIM card "being out of date" for these new Motorola models? The representative at the cell phone kiosk said that replacing it (my 6 year old SIM card) with a new SIM card would immediately remedy the issue - but the problem there was - my carrier is not represented by Best buy or they would have simply exchanged my SIM card on the spot and free of charge.
I spent another frustrating week attempting to obtain a newer SIM card through my carrier - who was incredibly uncooperative. The matter was ultimately resolved by simply resetting the phone to factory settings and repeating the setup process. I then immediately received all of the text messages from the previous two weeks!
This would have been such a simple process if I had known to do it the day I got my phone!
I hope this information is helpful to others in avoiding the same situation. I have been satisfied with my Motorola phone operation ever since!

Why does my Motorola moto one ace not let me receive txt messages or use video chat with my straight talk sim, but am able to send txt messages and use all other features?
I recently had the same issue with my most recent Motorola purchase.
Everything worked on initial setup except for my messaging app, which could send but was unable to receive messages.
I have been with my third party carrier (and the same SIM card) for 6 years. The first suggestion I was given was to put in an updated SIM card - but I could not get cooperation from my carrier in sending me one. If you are currently with a carrier that is supported by Best Buy they will replace the SIM card for you in store free of charge.
The resolution that worked for me was to factory reset my phone. Had I known to do this immediately - it would have saved me so much stress and hassle! I immediately got the full backlog of text messages that I had not been receiving in the two weeks prior to the reset.
I would definitely recommend trying this if you are experiencing the same issue with your Motorola phone on initial setup!
