I bought them to turn my lights remotely whenever my dog is alone and is getting dark. Not that easy to connect because you need the C by Ge downloaded and registered first. Then Add the Alexa skill (c by GE) and then ask Alexa to discover. I bough two plugs the first one was easy the second gave me a hassle but it was because I needed to update the firmware (you do that from the C by Ge app in your phone) it is working just fine

The Fire TV works in Canada. Just remember Alexa is “built in” and you need no other device than the remote control that comes with your TV. Make sure you download the skills you want to use to the TV as well. It does not wake up without you click the mic key on your remote control.
It is only available in English and yes sometimes it might misunderstand you (happens to me all the time)
Look for the definitive list of the top built-in Alexa commandsnin the Alexa webpage. You need subscriptions for the channels through your satellite/TV provider or Amazon Prime (not all will be fully accessible), you may need to pay for some other channels as well.
