This game is great when you are playing with kids. There is a board game type section that lasts about 1-1.5 hours. We encourage competition in our household and my daughter is effectively learning to trash talk when she gets the mushroom that adds moves, or lands on an ally space.... I digress. This is a great add on for family time.

Because the controllers do not come equipped for a standard grip, this is probably the best $30-ish you will spend. Oh yeah, it charges the "Joy-Cons" too. which is cool.... i guess...

Enjoy content from iTunes and apps like Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu and ESPN ~ or use the Siri Remote to find just what you want.* You can even share all the photos you take with your iPhone on the big screen. Growing up, I loved MarioKart 64 just as much as any other kid. Before there was Smash Bros, the relationships between family and friends, were shattered by electronic racing in environments visually designed to give Helen Keller a seizure. I love console video games. I have every generation of Playstation, a XBOX One S, and now, the Nintendo Switch.
If you are a parent, then the Switch seems like a no brainer. Kid centric games, family multiplayer opportunities, and a portable console to keep the kiddos occupied during those "Are we there yet?" drives. These are the "Pro's". And believe me when I say, they are real, and a lot of fun. (my wife and i stayed up eating ice cream playing MarioKart)
That being said.... This is (collectively) the most expensive console I have ever purchased without adding some fancy upgraded accessory (All prices are rounded to nearest dollar)

Joy Con Grip pad: $30
Switch "Pro" (standard style) Controller: $70
