My new reference 4k disc

I'm not big on animated films and this one crosses over between live action and highly CGI'd characters which normally, I would not be interested in. However, this time I around I found myself genuinely intrigued and found the film to be really amazing to look at if nothing else. The sound, oh man, the sound is fantastic, and 4k with this film is a match made in heaven. This is the 4k disc I would use to show off 4k to a friend. Great disc. Great movie. Great purchase.

One of my favorite films ever

My guilty pleasure in films, are Indie Dramedies, or Romantic Comedies. This falls more in the former category of a Dramedy(Drama/Comedy). You may or may not know this film is based on the true story of actor Kumail Nanjiani(in the film) and his real wife Emily Gordon(not in the film) and the hardship they went through after meeting and falling in love. Partially due to his ethnicity, and partially due to some unforeseen medical issues that fall on them. This film is so well written, and acted and both makes you laugh and tear up and the same time. Such a poignant film handled with an everyday man approach to the subject matter. You never lose touch of the heart that is in this film. And don't get me wrong the film is filled with funny lines, and interesting situations, and there really is something here for everyone. I saw this film in the theater three times, and so of course I had to purchase it. One of the best films I've seen of any genre. I can't recommend this film highly enough. Just watch it. Totally worth the purchases and re-watch value is off the charts.

One of the few truly entertaining family films

Let me start of by saying I don't ever go see films like this in the theater, but made the exception here as I have a fondness for one Karey Gillan(what can I say). I loved it. Kevin Hart, The Rock, Jack Black and Karen Gillan were AMAZING as a comedy troupe. This film was funny throughout, very entertaining and I really enjoyed the whole thing. So much so, I bought it on 4k when it came out. The 4k looks great, as films like this are really built for 4k with all the color, and exotic locations. This film is far better than most of its kind and prompted me to see the sequel, which I didn't enjoy as much, but was still a relatively good watch. If you want some mindless fun, and something the family can watch together and enjoy a good laugh, this is a great selection.

Suprisingly good action-horror

I am a sucker for underwater films, sci fi films, and horror films so this one checked off the box on all three categories. I didn't watch many of the trailers so as not to spoil anything. In the end that was a great move as this film is quite a ride.
Now let me get this out of the way upfront. Is there amazing character development? Nope. Is there a lot of subtext and interweaving plot points? Nope. Is there a lot of sex and violence? Nope. So what exactly are you in for with this film?
This is like the Abyss meets....(I won't say). I can't say. I'll just say this film had such a pay off for horror fans, it would be horrible to come out and say what that pay off is.
if you were to make a film based on a video game which mixed Alien, and the Abyss, you would get into the right territory.
Kristen Stewart is great in the film and all of the actors do well, but they aren't really the story. This film takes off from minute one and you are in it. You are running with them, trying to figure out what the heck is going on and how you will survive. You pretty much get so focused on the survival part of this that you forgot...there might be something in the water out there with other ideas.
I'll say this is a great popcorn, entertainment film for just about everyone. The film is not slow, it is not really deep, but even though I really dislike action films, and prefer the darker, more art house type of drama/thriller/sci fi/horror fare, I found myself really enjoying this. I saw it in the theaters and bought it when it came out I enjoyed it so much.
Worth your time for some enjoyable entertainment.

A dark cup of tea...not for everyone

This is one of those films that are very divisive. I really don't see much middle ground here in terms of loving vs hating it.
I personally loved this emotional gut punch of a film. It's dark and unrelenting. I do feel the initial promotions for the film somewhat mislead you as to where the film is going but one can't really touch on that too much without spoiling the movie.
I'll say that this is not a fast paced film by any means. It is methodical, and dark. Sinister would be a good word for it. This film is more of a drama than a horror per say.
The Blu Ray looks fantastic, though I had hoped for a 4k release. This will do and if you have an upscaling 4k player the film looks amazing.
So if you are in the mood for a trip down a dark, dark road...did I mention dark? This may be your cup of tea as well.
if you are looking for fodder along the lines of the Conjuring, Insidious, and other modern horror, you may find yourself confused and not liking the film so much. Definitely a more, art house type release.
If you are up for that, give it a go!

Bought this for my wife for Christmas. We have made ourselves healthy protein smoothies everyday since. Literally takes about a minute and makes things so convenient in the morning.

The collection includes two 45rpm lps, a 7 inch, cd, and download card. The cover is an amazing thick varnished gatefold. Oh, and there is a huge old school poster of the film. Deduct one star for not packaging better to avoid a corner ding on my cover. Picture below. So star deducted, but that is Best Buy's fault. Package records with bubble wrap.

I would not know. This was delivered to the wrong address, which was acknowledged by FedEx, who told me to tell Best Buy to file a claim since they lost it. Best Buy then told me to file a police report since it was delivered to somebody else, BUT nobody knows what address. My local Sheriff's office stated it is not a crime to have an item delivered to the wrong address, and FedEx acknowledged the error; therefore, there is no crime, and a police report cannot be filed. However, I have a report number I spoke to the sheriff's office. Three months later, I am still trying to get them to give me a refund and am sitting on the phone again, waiting for them to find "the best option" for me, which needs to be a full refund.

No. This is region locked to region A only. 100%. I have this player and Region free player and have tested. The only way is if your dvd/ bluray itself is Region free meaning it says so on packaging. This player is not region free. "Region A" only. I assure you. So, no. Only plats Region A ,usa discs.
