This drive will work with your Dell, so long as your laptop is SATA compatible. It should be, as SATA has been the industry standard for the last 15+ years.
(Since I didn't catch the approx year/age of your laptop, I'll include the following)
Industry standard doesn't mean that OEMs didn't use up existing stock before making the switch to SATA. If your laptop is more than 10 years old, Dell has a handy little tool on their website which will allow you to check before purchasing. This tool will tell you everything you need to know about your laptop.
Bestbuy answer guidelines frown on me posting links, so.... go to dell's website, select menu, support, view all support. You will then have the option to input your model number, which will give you the specs for your computer.
If your laptop is less than 10 years old, I'm almost positive you're good to go.
