The original STAR TREK finally comes to 4K format. Although not the complete 6 movies for the original crew, this set has the first 4 in the series. I can see why they did it this way. Marketing and cost. These movies were released from 1979 to 1986, marking STAR TREK IV to be 35 years old now. All four looking pretty good on the 4K format with improved sound in English 7.1 Dolby TrueHD.
I have an additional sound bar that the audio goes through instead of using just the TV speakers. You can hear so much more.
For picture quality, there is a difference I have noticed. If you play these back on an UHD TV with HDR, you will most likely see a difference although not groundbreaking. The most difference I saw was the The Motion Picture, particularly in the beginning scenes in space where craft are going to and around the Enterprise. I believe there was some touchup work done there for the 4K. I have the previous Blu-ray on that and it was noticeable for me.
THe movies looked really good for their age and am proud now to own this set. The packaging, well, it is okay. At least we have the discs separated in their own cases, 4K and Blu-ray versions. Artwork is good, no artwork on the discs themselves. Black for the 4K and standard Blue for the Blu-rays.
The 4K discs say on them that there are special features. There are NO SPECIAL FEATURES on the 4K discs. This is a misprint. I do not count Audio Commentary as special features. That is in the SETTINGS selection where you can pick whatever you see there for Audio. ALL SPECIAL FEATURES for each movie are on the Blu-ray discs.
The cardboard outer shell is a bit flimsy much like that of the Indiana Jones set released earlier by Paramount. The artwork is good, but that outer box will be tested over time for wear and tear.
All in all, a good to excellent set for the first 4 movies in the series. Hopefully, we get the other 2 sets to follow, V, Vi, VII then VIII, IX, X. I am only assuming they will do it this way to keep the cost down for consumers, or they could do the last 6 at once.
Recommended if you really want the 4K upgrade, which is worth it to me.

Well, here we are. THE THING (1982) finally gets the full 4K package treatment. Now, this movie does look pretty incredible on the 4K TV with HDR. I have owned the previous Shout Factory edition and that had the 2017 4K scan on a Blu-ray disc. This edition does look slightly better than that one on my 4K equipment. I would highly recommend playing this back on a TV with HDR capability to get the maximum presentation. Sound is incredible through the soundbar in front of the 4K TV.
Included in this set is the standard Universal Blu-ray that has been out for sometime. No artwork on it other than blue lettering, which is typical for Universal Blu-rays for the most part. The actual 4K disc is the standard black with white lettering.
Fabulous to finally have it, if you don't have the other set from Shout, I would recommend getting this. The Shout version has so many more features in that set. Recommended!

A beautiful steelbook with artwork throughout. The movie is good, a continuation of the original one, where the family must now move on and find others to help in eliminating the enemy from existence. The way has been found, now, executing that way on a mass scale is the key to survival. It's a good sequel and the packaging is well done.
This box set contains all five films following the action-packed adventures of elite government agent Jason Bourne (Matt Damon; Jeremy Renner), an assassin determined to uncover the dark secrets of his past. Included here are The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy, and Jason Bourne.

What an incredible set for this awesome series! I knew it was coming. Although, I am surprised that each one of the movies has not received it's own Steelbook 4K version. The very last one did, though as far as I know. All packaging is outstanding and movies are housed in their own black 4K cases, with an additional Blu-ray version of each movie. Digital copies are also of each movie. The outer case is really good and sturdy, with artwork. Highly recommended!!

Well, anyone that grew up in the '80s knew that after the huge successes of Star Wars and 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, got more Sci-Fi than they could handle. This meant TV shows as well as movies. Roger Corman saw a way to do a SW like movie and make some money to boot. In my opinion, he was successful in doing that. Bring in some known names from the decade and see how it all goes. John Saxon was brought in to play the mean bad guy, Richard Thomas from The WALTON's TV show to be the main good guy trying to get mercenaries, George Peppard from TV's The A TEAM, and Sybil Danning, and icon of the era, model, etc. Robert Vaughan rounds out the well knowns as a lone mercenary that joins the fight out of boredom. The movie looks good and sounds good now. Fans of the movie should get this edition. The Blu-ray has artwork on it as well as the steelbook itself. Nice edition!! There are some special features, including a new interview with Actor Richard Thomas on the role of Shad in the movie and how he got it, etc. The menu is really nice, moving background with music and easy selections.

Friday the 13th part II, gets the Steelbook Blu-ray for the 40th Anniversary and it doesn't disappoint. If you are a fan of this killer franchise, get this one. The artwork is pretty good for the most part. This movie is the introduction of Jason Voorhees to the series.
This is the Deluxe Blu-ray version, the same as the one found in the previously released Paramount 8 movie set. If you want a more detailed comprehensive set of the franchise, I may suggest you get the scream factory set of all the movies, and I mean all of them in the series.
I cannot wait for the 40th Anniversary edition of Friday the 13th, part III Steelbook, also. I have always loved the artwork on that and the movie.

Michael Keaton plays the creepy BEETLEJUICE spirit here to get under the skin of would be houseguests. It's a Halloween favorite every year for me, along with Hocus Pocus. Michael would go on to do the awesome BATMAN in 1989.
This Steelbook is fabulous throughout. The artwork is much better than that of the newer version that came out recently for the 4K release. The blu-ray here is decent. I found a good deal on a 4K disc itself and added it to this Steelbook.
Recommended, especially if you are a Michael Keaton fan. Watch this during October to get you in the mood for Halloween.

If you love Science Fiction movies about aliens coming to Earth and wreaking havoc on society, this one may be for you. I liked the idea, as it has not been done before to my knowledge in movies. An alien force has come to Earth and made all humankind scared to even make a noise. You see, if you make loud noises of any kind, the creatures will find you as they hunt by sound. A family must survive in their farm house surrounded by land and trees, with several creatures lurking about for their next target.
I thought the cast did a great job and I liked the movie. Will definately see the sequel when it arrives on the 4K format.
Recommended, but not a movie for small children in my opinion.
I really like this Steelbook it’s pretty cool. Lionsgate knows how to make a great Steelbook and this one is pretty awesome. But the only dislike about this is that I didn’t have a chance to finish the movie. Like after hour and a half the sounds just cut off while I was watching the movie. For the 4K and the Blu-Ray. I was very disappointed and had to return it and sadly, they didn’t had any copy of the Steelbook and the regular 4K. Wish I could give this a better rating but couldn’t, I was let down.
Audiences were mesmerized in 1982 by Disney~s release of the film Tron, a groundbreaking fusion of live action and computer animation, setting the special effects stage for decades to come. Video game players were equally drawn to the Tron arcade cabinet, widely considered the most beautiful design ever. Arcade1Up is incredibly proud to produce the Tron home arcade cabinet, among the most requested by hardcore retrogamers. Awarded "Coin-Operated Game of the Year" by Electronic Games magazine, Tron was revered for its gameplay and gorgeous aesthetic. The Arcade1Up Tron home arcade cabinet stays true to what made the game such a draw in 1982, right down to its signature inner lit blue joystick. Also included is the marquee game~s sequel, Discs of Tron.

Pricey, inconsistent controls, but nostalgic
ByJDThird
I spent a lot of time standing in front of one of these in the arcade back when they came out. And I haven't seen one since I enlisted in '85 so I had to get this just as a sop to my memories of happy times during childhood.
This isn't my first Arcade 1up cabinet, but it's by far the most expensive. I don't see the value here OTHER than for that nostalgia factor. There isn't anything here that warrants the price otherwise compared to some of the other games.
That being said, if you can get past the price point and want it, it definitely does bring back those days.
Assembly is pretty standard, although in this set the smallest piece, that is a small bit of wood material about 6 inches long that goes angled on the top above the screen to support the top cover, was much flimsier in here than in my last one. It split with the tiniest bit of snugging the screw down. It was still usable, and I was very careful with the second one, but keep that in mind.
Beyond that, I put it together myself and didn't have any issues with the build I do have a bit of dissapointment with the fitting of the graphic panel just under the joystick - it's not straight and so didn't line up well with the piece underneath it. I may have to pop the back and put some gorilla tape or something on it to keep it lined up better.
The other disappointment is with the joystick. Not anywhere near as good as the original. So light cycles, for example, it gets a lot of inputs that you aren't intending. And the ability to do those tiny little smallest jinks while driving the light cycle are nothing like what you could do with the original.
Sounds are spot on though, and the music is as well. So it's good for a stroll down memory lane even if it's not as good to play as it was. But for the price I expected better.
Thank you for your review! I have been watching this as well to see who would buy one and what it would be like. The price point is just too much, and now you say the controls are not as good, etc. Well, hopefully, there will be a mod available at some point to fix that joystick.
This movie of course was no where on par with the first two. It is worth watching as I think all of them are except for the one with Busta Rhymes in it. This is a classic so buy it and watch it. Too bad they dont make a monster Halloween box set.
Very cool artwork. The picture is way better than my Blu Ray Steelbook. It even has the German audio in 7.1. Arnies English voice is a Desaster..haha..anyhow, one negative part is, that the version does not contain the extended and just the theatrical version :(… However, it’s one of the best Action movie ever made!

Poor Presentation, no slip, discs come stacked on each other. Should have been in a 3 disc flip style case.
Well, this is the second time on 4K for these movies. I believe the first was a digibook style case. They are only rereleasing these to coincide with the newest Spider-Man movie that has all 3 of the guys in it. I'm sure if they sell enough of this set, they will undoubtedly put out a steel book version of it to make even more money. Slip covers, for the most part, are becoming hard to find now. The money is in the steel book casing.

I previously commented that this set was released as a Digipack version. I stand corrected, it came in a LEGACY Edition Steel book version 4K and Blu-ray of all 5 previous Spider-Man movies, plus Blu-rays.

Movie good, packaging bad
Bykritical485
The movies are entertaining however I am disappointed with the packaging. I do not like stacked discs and this set did not add anything extra. Not even a slip cover. I would recommend buying at a discounted price.
I am most likely going to save up for that LEGACY Edition Steelbook that has all of the previous 4K Spider-Man movies and blu-rays in it I believe. Thanks for the honest review.
I love The Matrix trilogy, that's why I bought this movie also (to have the complete collection), but this movie was a 5/10. The quality and design of this SteelBook is 6/10. If you are a fan of the movie, buy it.

55th Anniversary Money Grab
ByMchamb70
As a life long Star Trek fan I purchased this box set to go with my collection. I would say that these are a good 4K transfer but not really much of an upgrade over the Blu-ray.
It is nice having a digital copies however these are on paramount and not able to be used on Movies anywhere.
No Dolby Atmos
The Motion Picture is currently being upgraded to the directors cut 4K with Dolby Atmos.. the others will probably soon follow.
I don't know which set up you are watching your discs on, but these most certainly DO have Dolby Atmos on them. They look better than ever now in 4K and am very happy to have them. A good 4K player combined with a good 4K TV with HDR is the best set up.
Retrogaming fans and pop-culture enthusiasts have been clamoring for it, and here it is courtesy of Arcade1Up: the Atari Legacy CENTIPEDE Edition home arcade machine, for the first time in a form factor shaped just like the original classic arcade cabinet!
There are misleading images of this unit's screen size when showing Centipede. The game is a vertical game as it should be. However, there are photos of it being squashed or horizontal. Which is it?
Evolving from its 1958 beginnings as an amusement game manufacturer, Midway produced some of the hottest arcade games of the 80s and 90s, that have since been adapted into film, television, and much more.Their monsters-wreaking-havoc title Rampage~was a giant early hit, and then leaps in live action digitizing technology led to Mortal Kombat~, recognized as one of the most important titles in video game history. With it~s over the top darkly humorous gameplay and finishing moves, Mortal Kombat~became an instant franchise with iconic characters and enduring catch phrases.
So, what's the actual date of release now? Arcade 1up had it in March and Best Buy says Dec. 31, 2021. lol There are many of us eagerly awaiting to get this unit when Arcade 1up SAYS and sends an email stating it is READY for Preorder.

Not sure, but I asked the Best Buy tech on duty and he sold me one similar to this one for my Galaxy 21 phone. It works well. My advice to you would be to go in person if you can and tell them your question. They should point you to the correct item that will work for you.
Most steelbook editions contain the DVD as well. Do any of these contain the DVD's? And none of the special features are listed. I am particularly interested if the 4k/blu-ray have extra features that the DVD's do not. Thanks for your quick reply.

It did when it first came out on 4K. I don't think it can be found in the brick-and-mortar stores with one now in 2022, 5 years later. You may have to go to ebay for one.
