The overall package, design and discs are all nicely done.
Picture quality and sound are fabulous and it makes you think you are right there with the guys in the military boat making its way through the river.
All special features have been brought over from other releases, and you get the HEART OF DARKNESS feature as well.

This is a war movie and not for the younger viewers.
HIghly recommended for all those that love Robert Duvall.
His portrayal of a Colonel in this movie is spectacular.
Martin Sheen also does a great job as the Captain put in charge of the boat to destroy a lunatic colonel out in the jungle.

~ SPEED 4K Steelbook is nothing short of Superb! ~

Wow, what can I say about this 1994 movie that was a smash hit for not only Keanu Reeves, but Sandra Bullock as well. I believe it was her first major starring role. She did THE NET after this one and the rest is history for her. Keanu was already and up and coming star in his own right. He's one of my current favorite male actors and has two hit franchises to his name, THE MATRIX and JOHN WICK.
This newest release is just stunning now in 4K. It has never looked as good, in my opinion and I already owned the previous Blu-ray put out by FOX.
Special Features are really good and looks like most of them were brought over from the 2 Disc DVD set that was released years ago.
The discs themselves even have artwork on them as they should be for a nicely done release as this. Kudos all around!

PAC-MAN finally gets a deluxe version 12 - 1 unit.

Finally, we have a Pac-Man unit that has 12 games in it and makes it one of the best cabinets for sale for the price point of about $400.00 retail. I have to say, get this unit if you are a fan of the Pac-Man games themselves. The only one that is missing from this is Jr. Pac-Man, the one with the scrolling maze that goes horizontally.
This is my 4th Arcade 1Up cabinet, and it looks outstanding.

Once you are on the game select screen showing the 12 icons, be sure to go to the "Settings" screen for each one. Instructions on how to do that are visible and press the appropriate button.
You can make adjustments to each game, starting lives, level of difficulty, etc. You could not do this on previous cabinets. I own the Ms. Pac-Man 4 in 1 and there is no such settings menu.

The games will SAVE your high scores as long as you do not unplug it from the wall.
The joystick is a bit clicky sounding when maneuvering as opposed to the original arcade unit where it was fairly silent.

The coin op black box on the front of the unit is painted on, it is not a sticker. The custom riser is fantastic and really adds to the overall look. I am over 6 foot, so it is definately a plus.
Now on to the assembly. The owners manual and assembly manual are both outstanding in detail.
Whatever you do, when you are ready to put the screen into the unit, take OFF the plastic on it first. The screws on the screen have plastic underneath it as well, so, LOOSEN those a bit so that when you take off the plastic, it will come right off no problem.
Then, you can retighten the black screws back to position.
This will save you a big headache of having plastic around each of the screws.

Now, the metal screws on the game board where the buttons and joystick are located, you can take a black permanent marker or black model paint and cover the surface heads. This way, it will be black and won't stand out so much on the black surface. Looks great.
The tiny screws that go into the plastic cornered parts are a bit of a pain to get in, so take some time on those.
I built the custom riser first, and then started the unit.
Give yourself about 3 - 4 hours for all of it. If you are a first time owner of one of these, you may break the assembly time up into sessions. It gets tedious if you are doing it yourself.

Make sure the final side panel fits secure into all the wooden pegs, etc, before tightening the screws.
All in all, a great cabinet to own for years to come if you take care of it. The custom riser and light up marquee look great and the overall look is outstanding.
Delivery was outstanding as well and nothing was missing from the box itself or damaged. Highly recommended!

I would have liked this release to get the 4K treatment, however.
I think a black 4K disc and the Blu-ray with some Casper artwork on the actual disc would have been superb.
Still, a fun movie to sit and watch with the kiddos at Halloween or anytime they feel spooky enough to see the friendly ghost.

What a great steelbook for a 1980s slasher! This one is perhaps the best horror flick for Valentine's Day. This is the original 1981, not the remake.
This is a 2 disc set, much like that of the Scream Factory release with the slipcover. I am a collector of the steelbook format, so if it's good enough in overall artwork, I will buy it.
Special features are all brought over from the previous 2 disc version, but I have to say, the artwork on the actual Blu-rays are different than that of the slipcover release.
Disc 1 is the Theatrical release.
Disc 2 is the Uncut release with more intense kill scenes that were cut out of the original due to the movie ratings at the time in 1981.
The 4K scan looks really good on the 4K TV and player.

So, the 40th Anniversary Edition of Friday the 13th is probably as good as it is going to get. It's a killer package and even includes the digital copy. Artwork is fantastic on front and back.
Inside has artwork as well, not just a plain steel look as some of the early steelbooks of films or ones that don't go the extra effort to make it spectacular.

This Blu-ray is the UNCUT version and has the same features as previously released on the Blu-ray format.
The only minor gripe I have with this set is the blue color Paramount decided to use on the actual disc.

They could have used the poster front artwork as seen on the cover of the steelbook. There is one like that, but it is part of the fairly new released Scream Factory box set of all the F13th movies together in one massive set.

I have to note that anyone who buys these 4K sets will have to know there are NO Appendices in them.

I think they did only the 4K to keep the costs down overall on the package. It's quite expensive, regardless but beautifully done!

This is a beautiful set and I am very thankful I did not receive a damaged set, like some did. Yes, this is a metal case and can be damaged in shipment. Fortunately, my set was protected. There is no dents or scratches on it and the steelbooks themselves are in outstanding condition.
Each one is protected in a velvet like sleeve.
The picture and sound quality are outstanding and the Dolby Atmos is superb.
There are NO Blu-rays in these sets. These are the 4K sets only and there is a Digital code for each movie on 1 piece of paper located in the first movie case.

Obviously, everybody was waiting for Avengers: Infinity War, but, we were also curious to know what would happen after that. It was up to Ant-man and the Wasp to bring us back from those devastating events. It was also obvious that anything in comparison would seem diminished. But, if you give it a chance, you will see that this movie is as a larger than life adventure to awe and entertain everybody. The steelbook presentation is as big a collector's item as the movie. So it is highly recommended to get them both

I am a big Marvel fan as well since 2008's IRON MAN. In this particular movie, it was never "up to" ANT MAN and THE WASP to bring us back from the events of THANOS using the Gauntlet with the INFINITY STONES. That event actually took place at the very end of the movie when ANT MAN himself was in the Quantum Realm. Dr. Pym, his wife, and THE WASP were all on the rooftop when, bam!, SNAP of the Gauntlet took place in RAWANDA where THOR and many of the AVENGERS were, including BLACK PANTHER. It's going to be up to CAPTAIN MARVEL and the rest of the surviving AVENGERS to take on THANOS and devise a plan to go back in time.

I purchased this title for the Steelbook packaging as advertised on the BB web site. It is NOT the steelbook, but the older Metal-Pak packaging. Be wary if you only want the steelbook.

Yes, it's a revised edition of the original one put out. They did this right before the Sequel EQUALIZER 2 came out to make some extra $$ for those that did not have it to begin with. I was not fooled by it. lol

The trackball is very nice and the buttons are okay, but the spinner is pure garbage. It's a hollow plastic thing that you can literally FEEL mechanically bumping a switch to register rotation. If you're familiar with an actual arcade spinner, it's a hefty metal knob connected to a disc with holes, with optical sensors peeking through them. That ain't what you're getting here. Every "bump" or two moves you to the next segment in Tempest; the software is able to animate your thing "crawling", but the spinner device resolution is so poor that it just doesn't happen.
The video resolution is very poor (like, 800x600 or worse, by my visual estimation), which makes for a lot of visible jaggies on the "vector" games. The monitor is roughly 13.25x10.5 inches, so the vertical games have unused real estate on the sides. Tempest, strangely, seems letterboxed on all four sides.
Missile Command and Liberator play pretty well. Quantum is nearly unplayable because the trackball sensitivity is set too low, whereas Centipede and Millipede seem like the trackball sensitivity is set just a bit too HIGH.
Lunar Lander doesn't use either of the available analog controls for thrust, so that leaves you tapping a button to pulse-thrust, which isn't how the arcade machine worked.
Button placement is okay for everything except Gravitar and the two Asteroids games, just because the tractor beam / hyperspace button is "C", NEXT TO the rotation buttons, rather than below them where your thumb could reach.
Sound is pretty good; it's just a single speaker and the volume control is a 3-position switch though, so don't get your hopes up too much.
I haven't assembled the cabinet yet, but there's no way this could be a solid $400 value unless the spinner control was as solid and authentic as the trackball is, and the graphics were at least as good at simulating a vector display as a 15-year-old laptop running MAME can.

Originally made for cable television, this imaginative biopic chronicles the life of Marilyn Monroe (Mira Sorvino), including the years before she changed her name from Norma Jean Baker (Ashley Judd) and was transformed into the screen persona that made her a legendary sex symbol. The movie employs unconventional, dream-like storytelling techniques in which Marilyn and her former self, Norma Jean, frequently appear in scenes together, with Norma Jean often taunting Marilyn for not living up to her earlier aspirations. Many facets of Monroe's life are examined, including her childhood and adolescence when Norma Jean had to live with foster families because of her mother's psychological problems. I would NOT recommend this TO ANY MARILYN FAN at all. It is complete and utter garbage. If you REALLY want to see what Marilyn was like, look at the handful of ACTUAL DOCUMENTARIES that are out there with her voice attached in it in some fashion. THE LEGEND OF MARILYN MONROE, THE FINAL DAYS, THE MORTAL GODDESS.

Pros: I love it when they put a trilogy or anthology in steelbook packaging, especially a single case like this! As a collector this is huge, as space is a premium on my shelf. Digital copies included is also extremely beneficial for those moments I want to watch on the go or am just too lazy to go get the case and road the player. All in all a great purchase that would recommend.
Cons: This is a constant complaint of mine - typically folks who purchase textbooks are collectors and go out of their way to acquire textbook editions of movies; why can't they 1) make the movie info card cover easier to trim for saving inside the cover? Or 2) make it smaller in the first place so there's no trimming required? They should consciously anticipate their audience for steelbooks: collectors. Second, I was lucky to discover the trilogy coming out in steelbooks so that I waited to purchase this one; otherwise, if I remember right only 2 of the 3 were available as steelbooks at Best Buy... my solution would be for Best Buy to initiate a "Steelbooks Collectors Club" or something, where you could get on a special list and get head's up notifications of future steelbooks, with the option to remind us when something can be pre-ordered.

Sorry Disney, but I canceled my order. It’s a gorgeous set but I won’t spend my money on the versions I don’t enjoy. Especially when I can already watch these on Disney+. Whatever deal you made with Lucas, is what is stopping you from getting my money.
For everyone who enjoys the newer versions, this set looks amazing and I truly hope you enjoy it.

There was NEVER a plan to include those in this set. They are NOT the ones George wanted in the first place after the fact he had the technology to do what he wanted.
If you are so bent on getting the mistake prone, optical effect laden gaffes in the IV, V, VI ones, go for it. Good luck finding a machine that will play them on.

This set doesn't include the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy, which is what fans have been truly waiting on, but this set is still the best available so far. 4K audio and video is outstanding for most of the films, with The Phantom Menace having the weakest looking video. The set looks nice and the booklet is also attractive, however sliding the discs in and out of the booklet requires some patience and care. Overall, this is a nice set that is a no brainer for collectors, but it's not quite the ultimate set that many have been looking for.

You will probably never see the "original" theatrical ones that debuted on a UHD 4K format. You can still find those on the VHS and THX Laserdisc sets from 1995.

Having been a long time fan of the series, starting on the infamous date for all SW fans, 25 May 1977, I was eager to get this set and have all the movies in UHD 4K.
This set does NOT include the SW stories "Solo" and "Rogue One".
I will be getting "Rogue One" separately for the 4K as I have "Solo".
The box itself is decent, it has a leather like feel to it and opens up on the sides to reveal a middle "silver book" that contains all the discs and original artwork from each of the 9 movies.
The movie pages have the 4K and Blu-ray disc housed in their own respective sleeves on the upper right corner and are labeled as such when you remove them. Removing them is a sticking point, but as with anything disc, you have to handle with care. They are a bit tight as this is a new set and I think over time it will loosen a bit for each disc. The outer black case does not line up absolutely on the line, and that is a bit of a disappointment when it comes to the Death Star graphic on the front, but that is a minor thing to me. It's not handmade by Rolls Royce.

The 9 bonus discs are pretty good, but NOT all the material for each movie is in THIS set. There is new material, interviews, etc. for this set mixed with original material brought over from the 2011 9 disc set.
You can find more on the 3 bonus discs that came with that Blu-ray set. Keep those 3 discs if you have it.
Also, the 2004 Star Wars Trilogy "Bonus Material" DVD is exceptional with the vintage IV-VI trilogy content. Has ALL the trailers for those three movies and the EPIC documentary "Empire Of Dreams". That to me, is THE documentary for the original trilogy. This is NOT on this 2020 Box Set.

Episode IX does NOT have any deleted/extended scenes on the bonus disc. Why? I don't know. I do believe there is much footage that could have been added here. We get a "Skywalker Saga" documentary, rather it's a behind the scenes 2 hour video mostly about VII-IX with a little bit of footage from IV-VI added in here and there. No mention of Episodes I-III at all.
The plus here for me is the total package, although the disc sleeves may have been better, it doesn't appear they will scratch easily as the material behind it is slick. They are tight on the sides, but I believe over time it will loosen a bit. Handle with care as always. We get all the movies on UHD 4K with newer prints. The original trilogy (IV-VI) has never looked better.
No, it does NOT contain the 1977, 1980, 1983 theatrical releases with all mistakes and film defects inherent in those, even now in later format releases (VHS box sets/1995 THX Laserdisc sets).
You will never see those on a UHD 4K set.
George made it clear many years ago, that the movies that were originally seen on the screen in those years were not the complete vision he had at the time. He couldn't do alot of things he wanted because of the limits of technology at the time. So, he basically had to wait unitl the movie technology caught up.

Even if this set is not the most perfect one, I do like it, but it could have been better overall for content and the placement of discs in the sleeves. Artwork is well done and the artwork on the discs are well done, too. A solid 4 Stars.

HI, it came to my address from BestBuy.com in a sturdy cardboard box. It was well protected inside and had no issues at all. There were no dings or scratches whatsoever.

You are not going to get the 1977 "version" on 4K or Blu-ray. In fact, this was released in 2004 on DVD, but the quality was atrocious for that format's ability.
The only way you are going to get the '77 version is either through one of the following formats:
The 2004 DVD (official release)
The 1995 THX VHS Trilogy Sets (official release)
The 1995 THX Laserdiscs (official release)
The "Despecialized" version on Manufactured on demand Blu-ray disc (unofficial release)

I didn’t award FIVE stars because Lucas didn’t provide the original, theatrical releases. We get the kiddified Cantina shootout where Greedo fires first and Han fires best. No need for this: once Greedo pointed his blaster at Han, that’s an overt act of aggression and Han acts in self defense when he fires, even when he fires first as in the theatrical release.
For this price point, a lavish, illustrated hard bound book really would have set this piece off. But maybe they’re waiting to fleece us for an 8k version?
On a related note, I would love to see the Star Wars saga updated and re-released in theaters and Blu-Ray. For example, the death of the Death Star should no be so swift. A gigantic moon sized station shouldn’t vaporize but rather split up in big and small pieces. A Death Star meteor shower into Yavin’s moon and stormtrooper bodies and body parts would more convincingly demonstrated the destruction. The Super Star Destroyer, or should we say Stupor Star Destroyer, does nothing in the series. Change that!
But this is an excellent purchase and will entertain for a long time. Buy and slot in Rogue One 4k too.

Greedo fires first?

The Cantina scene on the 4K disc did not have Greedo firing first. There was an added scene with Greedo saying a word and then they literally shoot at each other at the same time, with Greedo missing and hitting the wall. This is a new scene added from Greedo. It did not exist in prior releases.

There are misleading images of this unit's screen size when showing Centipede. The game is a vertical game as it should be. However, there are photos of it being squashed or horizontal. Which is it?

will this charge my apple tv remote?
Not sure, but I asked the Best Buy tech on duty and he sold me one similar to this one for my Galaxy 21 phone.

Most steelbook editions contain the DVD as well. Do any of these contain the DVD's? And none of the special features are listed. I am particularly interested if the 4k/blu-ray have extra features that the DVD's do not. Thanks for your quick reply. Cathy
No, there is no standard DVD in this one or the newest release with different artwork.

Your best bet now, Dan, is to find one on Ebay or similar. It has been 5 years now, so it is most likely out of print.

It did when it first came out on 4K. I don't think it can be found in the brick-and-mortar stores with one now in 2022, 5 years later.
