I love in a part of the country that actually stays relatively cool most of the year with only about 3 months of the year getting up to temperatures where I need an AC unit. For those 3 months I like to have a unit for each bedroom to make sleep a little easier. I bought this one for my son's room and it seems to work well. Pretty simple to set up and maintenance on them is minimal.
The only reason I knocked it down one star is that it seems to take a little longer to cool down a similar sized room compared to other units that I have with the same Sq ft and BTU rating. But it still gets the job done

I have always been a little annoyed at having to replace the batteries in my xbox controllers. Not like hugely annoying, but every now and again I would drop like $30 to get a box of 100 AA batteries and it felt like such a waste. That's why this became such an attractive option. Rechargeable battery pack that you put in place of the AA batter and then you just set it on the charger and off it goes! Super easy to use and set up. Love that I don't have to go out of my way to buy anymore so gle use batteries!

Feeling like a kid again

I loved Harry Potter as a kid: went to the midnight releases for all of the books and would read the books the next day! I went to the midnight releases for almost all of the movies. I have a child now who has also fallen in love with the Harry Potter universe. I couldn't have been more excited when I heard about an open-world game that let's you be a student at Hogwarts... So of course I had to pre-order the deluxe edition as soon as I could.
This fame made me feel like I was a kid again. It brought back so many nostalgic memories and really just brought that whimsical magic that the Harry Potter universe is known for. It's a 'cozy' game if thay makes sense.
The gameplay was engaging and smooth, sounh and graphics were excellent and I thought the game offered a lot of stuff to do as far as puzzles, collectibles and quests.
The only downside I would say is that replay ability is lower than other open world games such as Skyrim or Breath of the Wild or Red Dead Redemption. But I don't feel like thays such a fair argument since my playthrough was over 40 hours and I still hadn't reached 100% completion.
Also, the Best Buy digital edition delivery tgorigh email was super smooth and easy.

Dead Space (2008) was my favorite game when I first played it. Its the game that I wish I could go back and experience brand new for the first time! It's the game that I compare every other game to. I can't tell you how many times I have played through this game: for years I would replay it every October for Halloween. I think it goes without saying, I was a little excited for this game... But also a little amprehensive. I was unsure if anything could live up to my expectations.
I am so glad to say that this lived up to my expectations. While it was like re-living the first time I played the game: the developers changed enough that it made the fame feel at least a little different while maintaining what made the original so special. Graphics are excellent, but the Sound mix was just *chefs kiss*!

The good, and the not quite as good

First things first: I love being able to play my PC games on a handheld system! The performance on the Asus ally is really something when you consider the size of this thing when compared to a traditional PC set up. It would never replace a full gaming PC, but if you just want to lay on the couch and play... This is as good as it gets! Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring, The Quarry, Death Stranding have all run great for me. The speakers aren't anything crazy but they get the job done. The look and feel of the system in your hand is also great.
Now the not so great. Out of the box, I had a lot of trouble getting set up. For some reason I couldn't get it fully set up. I tried a couple of soft/factory resets and it just wasn't cutting it. Ultimately I had to do a full BIOS reset. This took a couple of hours, which was after a couple of hours of trying to do a soft reset... And I hadn't even installed a game yet!
Second negative: the battery life on this is atrocious! On RDR2 or The Quarry you get maybe 45 minutes on the 25w performance setting. You can lower the performance setting but it would really only buy another 5-8 minutes. I get it, those are graphically intense games but it would be nice to have a couple of hours of game times before having to plug in. Especially when you are relaxing in a chair, on the couch or in bed: it would be nice to not HAVE to be plugged in.

This game had some big shoes to fill and I think it fulfilled all of my wants from a sequel. There is even more to explore and the story is even better. My Best Buy location also did an excellent job at facilitating all of the pre-orders thay came in for this game and we're incredibly well organized.

Best Picture in this price range

I bought this 4k tv for the Master bedroom. I currently have an 85 inch Samsung 4k TV for my home theater TV. I hate to say it, but this TV beats it in every category.
Picture
The last TV I had in a bedroom was a 43 inch 1080p Sony TV. I loved that one because the picture quality was EXCELLENT even cokpared to some 4k tvs. This one is no exception. With the Full Array Local Dimming, you get great color vibrance, contrast and great darks and lights. The brightness on the TV is perfect for a large bedroom. Normally I do a lot of customization on my TV setti gs to get the picture just right. With this one I set it to IMAX Enhanced and left it there!

The mids are actually really good hear and allow for dialogue to be heard easily. The Sony Bravias also have Spacial Audio technology that allows for sound to be bounced around so it sounds like things are coming from the sides (think Diet Dolby Atmos). Now, while this technology is really cool, the low end bass is still lacking and in a larger room than a bedroom, I dont thibk you would really notice the Spacial Audio as much.

I bought a Nakamichi Shockwafe 9.2.4 sound system, so I found myself needing to set up 4 massive and heavy rear surround sound speakers. I had a pair of rear speaker stands, but they couldnt handle the heavier speakers so I decided to buy these as they were taller and heavier duty.
I was originally going to mount two speakers on the wall and then put two speakers on these stands. After getting the first pair of stands home I immediately bought a second pair and decided to have all four rear speakers on these stands because they are so great. They are nice and solid metal, heavy but also easily adjustable.

I needed a new controller and was originally going to buy just the old standard xbox controller until I saw this 20th anniversary edition was the same pricing (which made me feel a bit old...I remember the first xbox coming out...20 years!). For the same pricing; this is heads over the standard controller. The smoky semi-see through plastic is awesome. I like that the color has been removed from the X,Y,A,B buttons. It makes them harder to see...but come on....you already know where the buttons are you don't need the colors to see. Look how much color it looks all black and greyed out!
It was also a nice surprise to find that there was some textured rubber grips on the back of the controller.
Feels just as sturdy as the standard controller and wireless is always the way to go! Set up is super easy as its the same process for all Xbox controllers.
