I had the previous model NR1710, which had developed major issues that forced me to replace it. Although I really didn't want to spend $1200 on a new receiver, the good news is this receiver not only has a more attractive look and build quality, it has a faster user interface when changing settings, faster HDMI handshake when using video pass through, and it has multiple pre-outs with the ability to set the receiver to allow the external amp(s) to handle the load, keeping the receiver cool when it's not doing the amplification. It also has some additional audio features available within the app options, like dialogue enhancement that I've found quite handy for those movies or shows where dialogue is sometimes buried in the mix and hard to understand. It even has different levels of enhancement you can choose from.
The sound quality for movies/music is excellent. The HEOS music streaming feature may be better sounding than the NR1710, but I can't say for sure. It'll sound good to most people, but its functionality does have some minor issues if you have your music collection stored on a NAS that doesn't use a particular server application.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this new slimline Marantz model and I would recommend it if you live in a smaller place, like an apartment, or have your system located in a small to medium sized area. It'll provide enough power and features for most average needs, and if more amp power is needed, you'll have the ability to connect external amps for multiple speakers using the pre-outs.

I bought this unit to replace the horrible device that my cable ISP had for lease. This was the first time I've purchased a modem router rather than leasing one. It's been almost a year that I've had it in use and this unit has been solid, stable, and has never failed me once. I don't live in a large place, so I don't need something that provides vast wifi coverage, but all rooms in my 800 square foot apartment gets strong wifi coverage from it. I have a mix of devices that are wired and wireless and all connect perfectly each time with no speed issues caused by the device. I do believe that I made the right choice when I bought this Netgear unit and I would recommend to anyone looking to buy their own modem router rather than use what a cable ISP provides.

Nice looking steelbook design using the original poster art. Scream Factory did a fantastic job with the 4k transfer and they elevated the presentation with an awesome Dolby Atmos mix. Highly recommended!

This 4K release is a real visual stunner. There are scenes and musical numbers that look so good you can't believe the film is from 1952. The sound mix is excellent as well, clear and dynamic.

Excellent 4K release from Arrow. The picture and sound mix are excellent and the packaging is of good quality. If you have the Arrow blu-ray, don't expect a huge leap in picture quality with the 4K, but if you're like me, and you want the best quality presentation possible, it's worth purchasing.
Remember those adorable baby alligators that your parents flushed down the toilet years ago? Well, one of them fed on dead animals that had been injected with a growth formula, and now he's a 36-foot-long maneater on a rampage under the streets of Chicago. Can a local cop (Robert Forster) and a reptile expert (Robin Riker) stop the carnage while there's still time? Gut-grabbing horror thriller co-stars Jack Carter, Henry Silva; script by John Sayles. 90 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Hadn't seen this in a very long time, so it was a real treat to see it again in probably the best quality it'll ever appear on video. The native 4K transfer is excellent. The sound is apparently the original sound mix, which sounds good for the age and budget of this film.

The image quality is glorious for a film of that age. It can sometimes be almost mesmerizing. The 2.0 sound mix is excellent. This is definitely the best presentation of this film on video. If you're a fan of the film, I would be highly surprised if you weren't happy with this release.

I have the first CC 4k set and I love it. I held out on buying this 2nd set, because outside of Taxi Driver and The Social Network, I wasn't sure any of the other films were going to be to my liking. When the price dropped about $30 I went for it, and I am so glad that I did. The two biggest surprises for me were Oliver and Sense and Sensibility. I really liked them both when I honestly didn't think I would. All of the films have exemplary presentations that really show off the 4K formats capabilities and I'm not all unhappy that I bought this set. Sony is to be commended for continuing to support the 4k format and putting love and care into making these catalogue titles shine.

Absolutely fantastic unit! I needed to upgrade my Sonos AMP for a proper AVR due to lack of HDMI ports.
Paired with KEF LS50 Meta bookshelf speakers along with KEF KC62 Sub this thing performs great and supports any type of modern decoding. Lack of 1440p support for PS5 (can do 1080p and 4K) is not heart breaking but I haven't seen AVRs on the market that support it natively.
Integration with Apple TV, Turntable and other stuff is fantastic too and QMS, auto switching and Audyssey (yes I would prefer DIRAC live but at this price point is impossible) is fantastic and overall I am very happy.
Keep in mind that due to slim form factor, you only get 50W per channel so make sure your speakers are efficient. I keep my volume at between 50-65 (out of 98 available) and eventually will add a center speaker and remaining speakers to complete 7.2 setup.
Even initial setup and confirmation was great, app is responsive and all on screen setup and settings menus are in 4K which is welcome as well.
HEOS works great for music and with multi zone and multi sub support you can really create interesting setups.
Again, coming from SONOS AMP which was simple to operate but lacked advanced control for its phantom center channel - often vocals in movies would end up muffled due to poor mastering or mastering in general for surround only.
Cinema 70s improved the clarity to a point where in the near future I dont need to even look into a center channel.
Intrepid

Speaking from experience with a previous model of the Marantz slimline receiver, adding the separate speakers really elevates the experience, even if you think it sounds great without a center or surround. I was floored when I heard the difference. I have all Martin Logan speakers and the receiver makes them sing. This new model has more pre-outs than mine does, so if you have large speakers and want more power to drive them, then you can connect one or more external amplifiers made by any company via a pair of interconnect cables. I currently have an external stereo amp from PS Audio to drive my main speakers, because they are big and need the power, with all other speakers driven by the Marantz, and it sounds wonderful. This new slimline model offers more than previous models, so I'm seriously considering buying this new model.
