I have the 900 Soundbar and the 700 sub, upgraded from the 700 soundbar. I am loving this setup. It does a great job of filling the atmosphere with well-placed sound. It definitely sounds like there are so many things coming from all different speakers and it really fills the room. The atmos speakers of course adds to the vertical sound-field. However, since they're at the ends of the soundbar, nearly 3.5 feet apart, it also expands the horizontal sound field as well as right/left stereo dimensions.
The speakers work well for Atmos, of course it won't replace in-ceiling speakers. But with the ADAPTIQ, the soundbar will make sure they are reaching you in a noticeable way. But more than that, Bose has created a system where all the speakers work together in concert to create an atmosphere that fills the room. For one example of what I mean, there may be times vocals are fed into the atmos speakers slightly to re-create the natural reverb a voice will bouncing off of all the walls.
Lastly the atmos speakers are adding themselves as two additional tweeters to the mix from the 700, so Bose is able to funnel additional high range trebles into them as well. Like I said, this all works together in concert to create a clear, crisp sound - not just adding a couple height effects here and there. Separating the low end into the bass module just completes it all by adding room filling depth and body and a crisper mix from the soundbar.
Well, if you can't tell, I'm really a fan! What makes it worth it over the soundbar 700 is that you're not just getting a few atmos effects here and there. Like I said, it expands not only the vertical sound field, but also the horizontal sound field - adds a lot more to the overall sound than just a couple effects, and brings in additional tweeters for an even crisper sound. Beat my expectations 200%. When you are samplying the soundbar in the store, you miss a lot of the benefits because there's no close walls or ceilings to know how it all sounds the way it's meant to be and through the ADAPTIQ.
My furniture setup works against using rear surround speakers, otherwise I would probably have those, too!

I got this size SONY player because it fit perfectly on my shelf space, versus the larger one which is supposed to be one level up. This smaller one also had better reviews for some reason. The player itself feels a little cheaper, just being plastic. And the interface seems old-fashioned and cheap, too. But hey, it plays videos amazingly with 0 problems! I like that it has Dolby Vision but I still have the option to turn it off (it's usually too dark for my liking). And I can also down-mix and sound into stereo if I want to. In short, it does what it needs to do well without adding anything too fancy to the rest of it.

I use this as the hard drive for my simple little plex server I run, and it works completely fine! It was highly recommended and have had no issues. Never going back...

Once you go OLED, you never go back. I don't really know what to say. The screen looks amazing from every angle. One complaint I had with a different OLED TV was how it handled motion. But the LG processor makes the motion great. My biggest complaint is that I used to love playing around with all the TV Picture Settings to find the perfect one, and on my old TV they never looked good. But on the LG, playing with settings is always boring and pointless.... because they look good no matter which one I pick! Obviously I'm just being a little funny here.
Only problem is that it was hard to get - I had to order online and then drive 80 miles to pick up. But I heard it was so amazing I still went for it ------ and I am so happy I did!

Ok so this soundbar handles eARC in a very weird way. My HTPC and its Nvidia Console detected the TV instead of the receiver even though the HTPC was directly connected the soundbar. It's as if it was passing through the sound via eARC and then back down again as sound was only stereo. So it really doesn't process sound when a HDMI device is directly connected to it. Very weird. This is unacceptable for a $500 soundbar

No eArc

Not sure this mades a difference for you or if you just made a typo, but from everything I've read, this soundbar doesn't have eArc capabilities - just regular arc. Being that it can't decode Atmos or DTS HD, there's also no reason for it to have it, unless you are trying to use eArc to pass-through to your TV. But it can still passthrough Dolby Vision and HDR10+ through regular arc anyways so....
If regular Arc is giving you problems, just run it through the optical port. Since it's max capabilities are Dolby Digital and regular DTS, you are still providing it the max info it can decode through optical. Also, most modern equipment should still be able to somehow turn on/off and adjust the volume on the soundbar without needing arc. I can do this through both my Vizio TV and my Fire Cube without any additional programming. I had similar problems before with this soundbar and a Vizio soundbar when running my Fire Cube through the soundbar into the TV with arc. So on my end, I don't think it's a soundbar problem. But I have no advantage sweating it out - just switched to optical.
