Star Trek: Picard - The Final Season SteelBook is a no-brainer of a buy. It's priced just right. The season seemed to be a final goodbye to the Star Trek The Next Generation legacy. Though it was an ending, an ending to the book, of sorts... the story seemed to imply a new volume of even greater explorations and discoveries was in the works. Anyone who loved The Next Generation, should own this three season farewell ark. It is well worth its weight in Gold Pressed Latinum, so don't pass this buy up.

Season Two of Picard is a gooey chunk of Star Trek: The Next Generation cake, that is best devoured with copious amounts aromatic coffee. This mega-ultra-super Sci-Fi educed psychological action thriller is a nostalgic daydream that requires something extra to comfort you through the dips, turns and bumps. The First Season was set dressing and a brief tour of current vistas, but this time around, it's internal. The Next Generation flipped through the high points of a future we all hope for, a child's wide eyed gaze of possibilities, and now we have a morose look in-between the nitty-gritty of the final pages of the final chapter. To quote another great Sci-Fi... "Sadness was the price to see it end."
Of course... endings are just another beginning... which is heavily hinted in this season. There is more to come, even if it's not what we expect from the Next Generation's story arc.

The 1965 Frank Herbert novel 'Dune' and the book series that followed traveled on very stormy seas into the great Science Fiction horizons of cult status. The story was considered too expansive, too complex, too physiologically retrospective to be interpreted into a motion picture. And then in 1984 David Lynch threw a sidearm cinematic breaking-ball that did precisely that... creating an expansive epic, an imaginatively dreamy physiological retrospective drama that challenged artistry in ways that only the 1980's could, with bold imagery set adrift on symphonic tidal surges. It was not appreciated, mostly ignored, or simply critiqued as tedious and mind-numbing. But then, in the 1990's, it became a cult champion of a cinematic masterpiece... watched secretly by geeks, teens, bohemian artists and edgy gamers in bedrooms, attics and basements. Shhh! It's a secret.
Now, when artistic privilege is under attack by the useless common-denominator, 'Dune' makes a comeback as a reboot/remake. It's a cinematic monstrosity cleaved into two unapologetic films that do exactly the same thing as the 1984 original, only this time it's being done with state-of-the-art CGI, stretched out at double the time, crammed full of saucy details Lynch had been denied.
The agony is that this is Part One, just setting up the background and some character introductions... Part Two is where all the real magic is supposed to be. The wait will be a misery!

Watching this new Thor movie is like eating a massive slice of cheesecake. Garnished in hypocrisy, it looks sweet and yummy in proportion to the promises the visual makes that should otherwise leave you embarrassed, if only you weren't so overwhelmed with anticipation. It's heavy and thick with more political buffoonery that can possibly be healthy to ingested in a single sitting... yet, mindlessly devoured it is, without any remorse. Until... after the crime's been committed and you begin feeling auspiciously nauseous, do you finally realize just how mistaken you were to indulge the face value of the fantasy. However... if you just nibble on the cinematic creaminess, paying closer attention to certain visual clues, while ignoring the obligatory, self serving dialogue, you will notice a substantial critique of millennial culture. This seems to be a new theme is MCU movies... the stealthy objection to political interference of the integrity of an artist's vision, which studio executives have been too self absorbed to notice. Yahoo! It was there in the recent Dr. Strange and Spiderman movies, as it was very noticeable in this one.
Putting all that aside... Chris Hemsworth, Russell Crowe, and Christian Bale were wonderful. Would have been nice to haves more of Chris Pratt in this movie.
Oh... and, on the count of Christian Bale as Lord Voldemort--I mean, Gorr the God Butcher, he might very well be the best anti-villain, villain in the MCU. He's just a dude, who wants to put a stop to all the misery, all the pain and suffering, being dealt out by the wicked, increasingly selfish and self-serving politicians--I mean... gods.
The flip side of the coin, the female characters were unremarkable and two dimensional, almost forgettable. If it wasn't for Natalie Portman's fairly masterful performance, this movie would have been a disappointment. The writing for the female characters was peanut shells, hollow and full of salty air. It was a horrible lack of imagination to contrive such characters and not give them vibrant personalities. It's almost like the studio forgot that these characters once populated illustrations in the vast realms of comic books. ::Sigh::... The actresses of this movie were mostly wasted... again, thank the gods for Natalie Portman.
This copy of the movie is worth getting, especially if you are a collector of MCU steelbooks. It's worth watching, especially with a rich cup of coffee and a SMALL slice of cheesecake.

The movie speaks for itself. Its a period film that highlights what strange and different directions our society is evolving into, especially thematically. Then there is... Patrick and Jennifer... Music and Dancing... Oh, and the music... the sound specifically, in this version, is at its greatest quality. Worth every penny.

Real Reasons Why It's Called Multiverse Of Madness

No spoilers! First off, this movie is truly amazing. Now... the level of amazing, will depend on how deeply you look into it. There is a very real, and valid, reason why it's called the Multiverse of Madness. If you take it at face value and go no deeper, you'll hate this movie... you'll label it ugly, messy, and awkward. You won't understand it. If you dive deeper below the movie's currents, you'll catch on to the multitude of layers and the puzzles in-between, which the movies has concealed in plain sight.
Stupid critics, majority of people who are not comic-book or SciFi cinema fans, have taken a disliking to this movie. They just do not have the imagination and necessary processing power to comprehend the gimmick behind the twisted array of riddles and puzzles just below the surface of this movie. It is not a roller coaster ride, as it's been described; though it does play out that way, but it's more of a designer carousel of haunted themes at a horror fest carnival. The plot is twisting and turning while the story is spinning out its narrative.
As to the narrative... this is a tough one to nail down, but it fits just right in the direction the MCU is going. This movie pulls-off what many writers and directors in Hollywood just don't have the vision, talent, or backbone to accomplish. Whether its political or some far-flung movement of inane drivel that ties down raw creativity, the motion picture industry in whatever form it takes is being smothered to death. That is not just my criticism for Hollywood, it's an actual theme within the movie. Look for it. That is the aspect of this movie that bad-- agenda driven critics--have picked up on, completely misunderstood, and found so displeasing that they call the movie ugly or noxious.
The director did a masterful con job on this movie. That's what this movie is... it gave exactly what the elitists wanted, while ridiculing them and their ill-gotten beliefs. Despite all the intense scrutiny of studio execs, machine politicians and Hollywood gatekeepers, and what must have been an insane amount of Disney franchise micromanagement, Sam Raimi delivered a killer cut of movie that was also a maligned con game. Those in the know, will applaud the message and the fortitude for dealing it out. Sam Raimi is only one-third eccentric, the rest of him is a fused gob of rabidity and carnie... oh, and storyteller!

Great price for soothing a bad case of 80’s/90’s nostalgia. The SteelBook 4K version of Terminator 2 Judgment Day satisfies on nearly every level. The movie is as it always has been, a monolithic SciFi experience that elegantly expended on the haunting original, and a great summer movie that can not help but fire up the imagination. And… the lean and slender, deadly rebel survivor, Sarah Connor is absolutely gorgeous. I see that… one of my teenage crushes is still going strong! Do not pass up on this gem of a release in 4K and SteelBook, worthy of every 80’s and 90’s movie collection.

This movie is the crowning jewel of the Marvel Universe. It has more heart, more adventure and intrigue, than any other movie released these past few years. Absolute genius.
Science Fiction is easy now to make, anyone can do it. But… the writing has become stagnant and way too politically polarized for anything meaningful or thought provoking to be produced. Everything is being watered down and twisted to the needs of special interests, which takes away any legitimacy or vision from creators.
This Spider-Man movie actually retains a soul. It is virtually unspoiled or tainted. The characters sparkle, and the story flows. Hardly noticed the time, it was that much fun and entertaining.
As he tried to cope with the alien symbiote now sharing his body, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) couldn't turn down the invite that could recharge his flagging journalism career A prison sit-down with psychotic serial murderer Cletus Kasaday (Woody Harrelson). Freak circumstance caused the parasite to infect Kasaday as well-resulting in an escape and rampage that even Venom might not be able to stop. Showdown for the Marvel Comics supervillains co-stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris. 90 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Unlike the greater majority of movies that are released these days, filled with political and social tripe, this movie is fun. It has an abundance of funny moments, and a decent amount of Marvel intrigue that almost satisfies the basic comic book reader. I found myself wishing for a lot more, but gratefully accepted what was offered because I wasn’t forced to endure another political statement piece that selfishly distracts from the actual story.
The story and characters need to be the driving force of the movie, and not the political opinions of studio suits that have nothing to do with the story in the first place. People are hungry for content that helps them escape reality, not be soap-boxed to the beliefs of others. This movie was refreshing, and I enjoyed it more than expected. Looking forward to more.

Anticipated solo vehicle for the Marvel superheroine co-stars David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, O-T Fagbenie. 134 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

After the criticisms and reviews and scandals, my expectations were low. But I’ve come to the conclusion that you simply can not trust the vaulted opinions of people watching these movies through the lenses of politics and personal beliefs. The wrong people are reviewing the wrong movies, and it’s a shame people allow themselves to be swayed or tainted by unqualified and uninformed, and often delusional opinions. Blackwidow is a surprisingly funny movie despite the intensity and emotional volatility of the main characters. When you expect violence and destruction, you get love and forgiveness, and then comes the violence and destruction. This was a pleasant tangent in the Marvel machines progress through its multiverse. Worth buying and watching, without biases and stained options. Scarlett Johansson keeps being sleek-and-shiny charming, and ever so intriguing, while Natasha Romanoff is a flawless fighting force of destruction. Florence Pugh made for a pleasant surprise, an amazingly engaging second Blackwidow, and perfect baby sister to Natasha. I am looking forward to seeing more Blackwidow movies.
