I'm upset I can't play Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles or Ecco the Dolphin, Eternal Champions, Ooze and Virtua Racing but overall it's a great compilation with a scanline option as well as online multiplayer. Has decent replay value outside of trophies. I often play weekly sessions of Street of Rage 2 and Shinobi 3 while waiting for updates to download.

Metro Exodus is a much needed breath of fresh air for this generation of consoles. Other than DOOM and Wolfenstein, there really haven't been many high quality story driven, SINGLE PLAYER first person shooters.
The structure of Metro Exodus really reminds me of CRYSIS 2 and 3. The game is inherently linear, but you are dropped into small post-apocalyptic sand boxes that you can explore as fast or as slow as you please. Also, you can customize your guns just like in CRYSIS, adding scopes or silencers to weapons to change them and fit the situation accordingly. To me, this game is meant to be played on harder difficulties and to also be played at a slower pace. If you are run n' gun type of player, you may not appreciate what Metro Exodus has to offer.
The difficulty here works both ways and I love this about the game. On hardcore mode, you will die in a few shots or a well placed sniper shot will take you out in one hit, but the enemies will also go down just as fast. Put one round in an enemies unprotected head, or two to three shots to an unarmored chest and your (human) enemies drop like flies. Its extremely satisfying to kill enemies with well placed stealth shots and take downs and even when things go loud you can hold your ground if you are smart enough to run and keep moving so the enemies cant find you.
The graphics are incredible and the fantastic lighting only makes things look even prettier. Your weapons are very detailed and feel as realistic as they could be in a post nuclear era. NPCs look moderate to great, their animation is kind of stiff and their faces don't display emotion very well, but it gets the job done. The mutants roaming the wasteland pose more of a threat at night time, and they are meant to be avoided when possible. I found myself sneaking around them or taking them out from far away with silent head shots.
The game is not perfect though, sometimes your character will get stuck on things in the environment and he will slow down, I guess they added this for more realism, but its just kind of annoying. I also had a save bug where the game was not saving checkpoints or letting me use the quick save feature, so I just killed my character and reloaded and never saw the bug pop up again. The sensitivity settings for gun movement and aiming needed fine tuning when I first started playing, they felt really slow and slightly clunky, but after awhile I got used to them. An update with most if not all bugs addressed would really help this game, but overall a decent experience.

A decent addition to the Wolfenstein saga!

The gunplay is really fun on normal and the story is intense and written well. The various weapons and mods also work real well for causing havoc. Unfortunately the levels are still boring grey hallways for the most part and the difficulty system is kind of broken. I play most games on one of the harder difficulties and rarely play on normal not just for the challenge but to get more playability from a game. In this game playing on anything above normal turns what should be a "run and gun" type shooter into a "hide behind cover" and occasionally "peek out" for a shot type shooter. Since your health doesn’t regenerate like in Call of Duty this is a big issue because your supposed to be constantly moving to pick up ammo and health while stealth/shooting enemies. Doom was all 'run and gun' and playing on the hardest difficulty didn’t change that. I played New Order on Uber and was still able to stay on the move for the most part.

The good:
- This game still succeeds in charming your pants off, primarily thanks to the recognizable Disney/Pixar characters spread throughout the many colorful worlds. You can't help but smile when Hades 'poofs' onto the scene (voiced by James Woods) or when Jiminy Cricket hops up to offer some advice.
- The gameplay is really fun, with many different options to light up the screen with big-bang attacks (partner attacks, attractions, etc.), while also just letting you hack, slash, or shoot your way to victory. It's exciting, colorful, and not overly challenging even on Proud mode.
The bad:
- The story is convoluted/confusing at times especially if you haven't played any of the earlier games in the series. The dialogue is slow, the writing dull, and the cut scenes at times drag on.
- All the explanatory content regarding fights, magic use, form changes, summons, etc. is A LOT. And it all gets thrown at you early in the game as just simple text to read/scroll through with optional tutorials. It's all a bit much for a game that essentially boils down to a button-masher.
- There is definitely a bit of laziness that's evident throughout the game, and if you compare it to some of last years top games, it just doesn't have the same level of quality as those (thinking Nier Automata). Everything from the slightly sub-par graphics to the overly-varied menus and mini-games to the blank-and-a-bit-slow load screens. None of these things are terrible, but considering the amount of money and time that went into making this game they simply just shouldn't exist.
- To be honest, this game no matter how much I want to love it is a bit disappointing. I've waited 17 years (as have many of you) for this long delayed title. The game play isn't bad, but it feels sparse in comparison to all the cut scenes filled with recent Disney hits. Honestly it feels like Square-Enix didn't make great use of their creative talents to make a game that will live up to the Kingdom Hearts name. I remember all the hype, music and energy that oozed from the 1st KH in 2002 even in the commercial. The first and second Kingdom Hearts had their cut scenes, but they also had a strong story. Story that didn't involve peddling the latest Disney franchises. Even with worlds pulled from the movies like Frozen, Tangled, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, and Pirates of the Caribbean it's lacking in any real story merit. Sure the visuals are nice, but where is the game play experience and storytelling of the previous games? It just wasn't a cohesive mix of Disney and Square.

Core story and locations say the same with some quality of life changes
There are additional dialogue and cutscenes that get you more involved in the story without changing the overall plot of the original.

I am a huge fan of Sonic from the Sega Genesis era even up to the ps3 and 360 Sonic Unleashed days.
First of all this game is not like Sonic Mania the masterpiece released two months before it. With this said Sonic Forces should not be discounted. I like the avatar and all the cosmetic, gear and weapon options which I unlocked all in the daily missions. Additionally, the price of the game is about right being around $30 or less. If you like 3D Sonic games this game is very playable. Just don't go in thinking it is as deep as Sonic Unleashed, Generations or Colors. Visually the characters and levels look nice and some of the music was done well to the level of say Sonic Colors or Unleashed which in my opinion have some of the best modern Sonic music. The many in-game unlockables really works well for the game. Sonic Forces creatively uses daily and weekly challenges related to wearing and using certain gear, which brought a lot of variety as well. Additionally there are challenges for completing stages within a certain time. However, I do feel the levels are short and you can blast through them and just mash "X" most of the time. Finally, this game seemed a bit like Sonic Heroes, Colors and Unleashed combined with your avatar able to use a variety of weapons as well as run, which in my opinion is very interesting. The Shadow the Hedgehog DLC was a nice bonus as well.

I'm writing this review after the release of the DLC Mooncrash and the Prey VR DLC although I bought the game Day 1. The story is interesting and keeps you engaged well enough, but it's the environment and gameplay that shines. From choosing how you'd like to progress and upgrade your character to how you'd like to approach situations. Would you like to play it safe and sneak past everything, take everything head on, or make yourself more alien than human and fit in. Or become anything in the environment through mimic abilities.
The combat isn't as polished or quick as a FPS shooter, but this fits since your not a marine, or spec-ops trained fighter, your a random person who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. You won't survive purely on shooting through every enemy, nor will you beat this game without thinking carefully on how you'll approach some of the trickier situations.
Although you can beat the game in 15 hours or less (putting aside the now fully patched game glitch that allowed you to beat the game in 5 minutes) Ive spent 60 + hours just exploring the entire space station, recycling and doing quests. Now that the game is $9.99 in some places you'll get a lot for you're dollar even if you pay $19.99. The DLC Mooncrash is great as well.

Survive in an incredibly creepy planation mansion in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Photorealistic gaming has been taken to a new level for a terrifyingly tense atmosphere that's up close and personal, thanks to compatibility with Sony's PlayStation VR. I wrote this review a few days before the release of Resident Evil 2 remake and after playing the demo of it as well. Having played mostly 3rd person Resident Evils since PS1 I don't dislike 1st person I just had to transition myself to play RE in a different perspective. I still like 3rd person more, but 1st person works well for RE 7. The pros and cons of RE 7:
PROS:
-Graphics are excellent. Sharp, detailed, and extremely unnerving textures & lighting.
-The various creepy sounds you'll hear throughout this game will keep you on edge the whole way through. The soundtrack is extremely well done I feel, and was very subtle yet powerful in regards to enhancing the experiences and scenarios.
-The game play is extremely fun. Killing enemies is actually extremely satisfying despite the fact that the best option in combat scenarios often at times is fleeing.
_****THE STORY***** literally the best part of the game in my opinion. The whole time my cousin and I played this game we kept theorizing what would be the situation or what would happen next and we could not pin it at all. The fact that this story leaves you in complete mystery compared to Resident Evil 5/6's painfully obvious story arcs was a very pleasant surprise and quite the thrilling experience to unravel.
-Had some Resident Evil 4-like gruesome deaths. I didn't experience nearly the amount that was in RE4 but the few that I did see were pretty......intense.
-There is some replay value in regards to a key point of the story. Not going to give spoilers so take my word for it, especially if you care about the story then it would be worth going through again for this point alone. Also to try again on a harder difficulty setting because why not.
CONS:
-Puzzles are fun and neat but not that challenging in my opinion. Slightly disappointed in regards here.
-I finished the game on the Normal difficulty in 9 hours. That,s a high end for RE completion hours but there is DLC for those who want to get more out of this game. I have the DLC bonus footage etc., but have invested time in two I have played so far and can say you could get maybe another 25+ hours from the additional content of this game playing at a casual pace. As of now there is no "complete" version of this game (definitive edition with game + all dlc combined) so who knows if Capcom will release more DLC well into 2019.
In conclusion it is a worthy purchase especially at its $20 or so price for the base game.

CONS:
-Puzzles are fun and neat but not that challenging in my opinion. Slightly disappointed in regards here.
-I finished the game on the Normal difficulty in 9 hours. That,s a high end for RE completion hours but there is DLC for those who want to get more out of this game. I have the DLC bonus footage etc., but have invested time in two I have played so far and can say you could get maybe another 25+ hours from the additional content of this game playing at a casual pace. As of now there is no "complete" version of this game (definitive edition with game + all dlc combined) so who knows if Capcom will release more DLC well into 2019.
In conclusion it is a worthy purchase especially at its $20 or so price for the base game.

Outstanding action, beautiful environments, guerrilla warfare and incredible tombs are all yours for the taking in this third person adventure. Outthink the Trinity and hone your survival skills in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The excellent middle part of the Tomb Raider saga.

I'm making this short review after the release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider three months ago. Firstly, it's the middle of the (re-imagined 2013) Tomb Raider trilogy and the story, setting and narrative are done very well. Plenty of action, decent weapons, gear and survival upgrades plus fun lateral thinking puzzles. However it was not not long enough in my opinion if you paid the original $60. Fortunately, I only paid $20 for this game at Best Buy a full year after it's release so that's a plus as well. Get this game if you like Tomb Raider but also as a part of the trilogy.
