The first thing I will say if you purchase this item, is to pull the battery in the night before you plan to install. It took hours for the battery to charge fully. This is my first outdoor video device.
It did not take long to mount, attached effortlessly to my Alexa and the daytime video is very clear. I also love that it is wireless as I have an older home and there isn't any existing wiring for a doorbell currently. I do hope it can withstand the continued morning sun. Unfortunately, it has to hang in the sun for several hours before the sun goes behind the house.
You need a very good internet connection too. For me, the video has a few seconds delay time, but I didn't think that was too bad. The fact that is doesn't always notify me on my Galaxy S9, till minutes later that something or someone has walked in front of my house, does worry me.

I tried to use this several times and kept getting my hair caught in it and it would start beeping and stop, so it didn't pull out any hair. I need to add, I am not a professional. I live in Vermont. The BB salesperson told me that the battery will last about a week in cold (20 and lower) temps. We plan to be gone a lot during the winter so can’t swap it out weekly. Anyone else have experience w very cold temps and battery life?
I am not sure if this will help your situation, but the Ring Video Doorbell 2 can also be wired. That way you would not have to worry about the battery draining down while you were away. You still have to have internet, so if the power would go out, your camera wouldn't work anyhow. I hope this helps.

Can this be hung on the wall?
Yes. We mounted it flat on our bedroom wall using a Sanus wall mount. It was very easy following the instructions included with the mount. Just be sure to find the stud(s) in the wall before you start drilling holes for the screws. Only took us about 20 mins to complete.
