I need to be able to place this in my office and connect my desktop. My office is not near my internet modem. Can this connect wirelessly to my modem and still provide a connection to my desktop via Ethernet?
NO. What you need is a wifi router or the modem that you speak of may already come with wifi. but this switch needs to be hard wired with Cat5 or Cat 6cable going into it
