Roland Emmerich helms a fun and entertaining take of the Battle of Midway in this 2019 film. Though the story is based on real-life people, there are obviously many liberties taken to ensure that the pace of the movie keeps moving. Be prepared to give you audio setup a workout ... The Dolby Atmos track works to show sound effects from all around you ( left , right and even from above ) bringing you into the action and is on par with the sound presentation in the 2019 Godzilla:King of Monsters movie. The all-star cast also helps to round our the movie with great performances all around

A great live-action remake of a Disney classic !

Disney live action recreations of their animated classics are usually a hit-or-miss affair. Thankfully this 2015 movie delivers due to the performances of the leads in this film. Lily James is perfectly cast as Cinderella , Cate Blanchett plays a chilling stepmother that you can still feel some sympathy towards and even Richard Madden is decent in the limited screen time he has as the movies shows his relationship with his father.

Better than you thought a Sonic movie could be !

After much criticism over the initial design of Sonic back in March 2019, first time feature director Jeff Fowler took the feedback to heart and revised not only the design of Sonic, but the rest of the videogame characters as well. Though not a masterpiece of a movie, Sonic delivers on bringing this iconic character faithfully to a live action film and the performance from Jim Carey in playing Dr Robotnik is worth the price of admission. Buy with confidence if you are a Sonic the Hedgehog fan

Great upgrade over the 2010 blu-ray release !

This 4K re-release of Goonies represents a material upgrade in video and audio quality over the previous 2010 blu-ray release. Most of the improvements come in color grading (i.e., darker scenes now show details that were not viewable before and facial features, costumes are now much clearer than before ). Definitely a great pickup for Goonies fans but probably best to wait for a sale if possible ( this was $9.99 during Nov 2020 )

Finally ... A great, compelling WWI movie !

Sam Mendes ( director of movies like American Beauty , SPECTRE ) delivers one of the best World War I movies every made in 1917. By using cast of relatively unknown leads( George MacKay , Dean-Charles Chapman ) and sprinkling veteran actors like Mark Strong and Colin Firth, Mendes is able to tell a compelling story about a mission to save lives but also show the atrocities of WWI in the background. The main gimmick of the film that was talked by movie critics was the 'illusion' that all the scenes were done in one take which allow the audience to feel the tensions and intensity of what the characters in the film might be experiencing.

Pack it up with friends in Moving Out for Nintendo Switch. The simple but challenging gameplay and hilarious physics provide hours of fun as you and your friends try to complete moving jobs in a variety of environments. Moving Out features a charming art style and inventive characters that add to the fun.

Team 17 ( makes of Overcooked 1 and 2 ) releases another great party game which allows up to 4 players to hilariously move items out of a house in uniques way ( e.g., throwing a bed out the top floor window ). Difficulty can be cranked up for expert players and can be toned down for novices as well which makes it a versatile experience. The only know against the game is that multiplayer has to be LOCAL only ( i.e., you cannot currently play this game with friends or other players online ). If it one day has online multiplayer ( like Overcooked 2), It would be a 5-star game

Fantastic compilation of Peanuts TV specials

This compilation contains so many memorable and timeless "Peanuts" TV specials all rolled into one package. Even though the 4K resolution doesn't materially improve the video quality of the source material, this is probably the best these short films will look on physical media ( and the HDR does add some improvements in color ). The price point ($19.99) and the fact that it comes with a digital copy that will redeem in 4K at Vudu make this a no brainer purchase.

Seems like a simple deck building game at first where you use cards to attack/defend against creatures in one-on-one encounters, but slowly as you work through obtaining new cards and figuring out the patterns and weaknesses of the 60+ enemy types, the 'magic' of the game starts to show with the deep strategies you need to "Slay the Spire". It's the 2019 Game of the Year in my opinion and is immensely addicting.
