So now, all 6 of my TVs have a generation of Apple TV’s. This HD one is reliable and works well for HDMI plugged 1080 TVs. I do have one 4K tv and would recommend the next level Apple TV for that one. Software updates seem to happen in all of the ATVs except the original shorter ones (gen 1 & gen 2, I think?). Very happy with the Siri remote...but don’t let them get wet. Once went on vacation and a cat spilled a glass of water on one. $80 to replace isn’t fun. Luckily older gen remotes can be used except for a Few adjustments having to do with AirPods as speakers and closing apps.

Was wary at first to spend this much on a router. But the wife was right, we now have over 40 iots (phones, TVs, dots, etc) not to mention two adults and 3 kids working from home...we needed a powerful router. At first I had a sub 100$ Wifi6 and returned it a week later. The ax8 is a powerful enough to stream HD three walls away. Happy I made this investment.

Keep getting better, natural intercoms

I like the improved easier setup for this generation’s Dot’s compared to Gen 1. They setup with Bluetooth on my phone much simpler than old ones did. I only know this when I got a new router and had to reset their network settings.
They also sound much fuller than Gen 1.
My family loves to make announcements on all 5 of them scattered around the house, or “drop in” on anyone of them to “intercom”. I live in an old house and would never even think about fixing the broken intercom from the 1970s. These ARE the modern intercom :)

Bit bullet and bought this a month too soon. Wish I had waited for the new models with same specs but twice the HD. It was on sale, but would pay full price for a 512GB HD. Very happy with speed of the i5, which i read is essentially the same as the i7, and significantly faster enough than the i3. Hopefully it’ll last like my old Macs did...for 7-10 years...I’ll be realistic and expect 6 years again. My mid2014 grew too slow after 5ish years (It was the base model then). This being the mid model, maybe I’ll get my wish.

Excellent front speakers for home theater

I have had a home-theater/HIFI set ups since my dad would hand-me-down his old Marantz Quadriles in the early 80’s. So naturally a sound bar is never an option for me. These speakers finally allowed me to replace a pair of crumbling Optimus (RadioShack) bookshelf speakers. I’m very impressed by how affordable and full these sound. I have a 150W sub also connected so their bass is unnoticeable, but the treble and mids match very nicely with my Optimus Center channel. Good looking, wood boxes which hang on my wall with my trusty RadioShack wall mounts, albeit they point upwards a bit since the speaker terminals are so large on their back faces. Good Stuff, affordable set of highly rated (CNET) speakers.

I hesitated to buy one of these in the past having had so much difficulty keeping it free of bumps, bubbles and fuzzies. Thankfully this comes with a phone-specific template that let me simply drop the screen in place. It also had a set of cleaners, wipes and sticky roller that actually got rid of all the foreign matter except for one tiny bump. So, near perfect. No complaints

Fast as it can get! But made dead zones?

I have a cable modem at 400mbps and it maxes this out on the 5GHz signal. My last modem would max at 250mbps, so I’m literally getting what I pay for now (as far as speed). However, the spot beaming (you set up preferred devices in app/web interface) seems to create some dead zones, I didn’t have with my last modem.
This may be from the Covid-19 internet backbone stressing that MUST be going on, but I don’t think so. I’ll give it a few more days/weeks and I’ll review again. So, So far impressed with speed, but may have some “holes”.

My old MC Mini just quit. Am looking to buy the Mac Mini i5. Your store in Scottsdale is out lif I purchase one online can I bring the old and the new into the store and have the information transferred when the store re opens
Don’t have them do it. Just make a Timemachine backup and do it yourself. If you have a portable HD, which I must highly recommend, or even a large capacity SD card these days, you can make a time machine backup. When you power up the new one, the computer will ask you at the right time to plug in your portable HD and simply transfer EVERYTHING over to the new computer. If you have a larger drive than the new one, then you can just choose which apps Not to load on the new one.

You’ll need to have the clear plastic filter holder that attaches the inside bottom of the water tank. If you don’t have a removable filter holder then you probably don’t need these filters. I have seen them for sale at Kohl’s department store, or online at Keurig.com...maybe look for them there if you think you’d like to filter your water
