I’m very late to the party with this band. I’ve had this CD forever but never really gave it a good listen until now in preparation to see them live in a couple of nights. Grandiose and glorious, I’m digging it! Looking forward to an arena-filling wall of sound at their concert.

Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. The $5.98 E.P. Garage Days Re-Revisited is an extended play by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on August 21, 1987 by Elektra Records. The extended play consisted entirely of covers of late-'70s and early-'80s new wave of British heavy metal bands and hardcore punk music rehearsed in Lars Ulrich's soundproofed garage and then recorded in Los Angeles over the course of six days. It was the group's first recording to feature it's new bassist Jason Newsted, and also the band's first following the death of second bassist Cliff Burton. They expanded the limits of thrash, using speed and volume not for their own sake, but to enhance their intricately structured compositions. Album Tracks 1. Helpless Sean Harris, Brian Tatler Diamond Head 6 39 2. The Small Hours John Mortimer Holocaust 6 43 3. The Wait Jaz Coleman, Geordie Walker, Martin Glover, Paul Ferguson Killing Joke 4 55 4. Crash Course in Brain Surgery Burke Shelley, Tony Bourge, Ray Phillips Budgie 3 10 5. Last Caress/Green Hell Glenn Danzig Misfits 3 30

I missed out on the original release of this fantastic covers EP of five of Metallica’s key metal influences. So happy to see it finally re-released on both CD (with retro long box!) and vinyl.

The rock and roll greatness of this one cannot be denied. One great song after another, it’s an indelible stomper that moved the band forward from the tragic loss of original singer Bon Scott, and roaring into the 80’s era. Nice vinyl packaging, including a color inner sleeve with new liner notes.
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. A Collection of Great Dance Songs is a compilation album by Pink Floyd, released on 23 November 1981 by Harvest Records. The title is facetious, given that Pink Floyd are not known for making particularly danceable music. This is perhaps evidenced by the album art, which featured a photograph of ballroom dancers anchored to the ground so they cannot move. The album contains alternative mixes of InchShine On You Crazy DiamondInch (which comprises parts 1, 2, 4 and 7) edited down for time reasons, and InchAnother Brick in the Wall (Part 2)Inch (which combines the intro from the single mix with the album version). Also, the track InchMoneyInch was re-recorded as Capitol Records refused to license the track to Columbia/CBS Records. David Gilmour re-recorded the track himself, guitars, keyboards, bass guitar and vocals and co-producing the song with James Guthrie. Dick Parry reprised his saxophone role on the track. There are some differences between the re-recorded version and the original; mainly in the saxophone and guitar solos and the overall use of reverb. The drumming is noticeably different from Nick Mason's, especially during the guitar solo, with very little of the tom-tom fills heard on the original. Album Tracks 1. One of These Days - 5 14 2. Money (1981 Re-Recording) - 6 46 3. Sheep - 9 46 1. Shine on You Crazy Diamond (PTS. 1-4); Pt. 1 Pt. 2 Pt. 3 Pt. 4 - 10 41 2. Wish You Were Here - 5 30 3. Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 - 3 58

A single-disc Pink Floyd compilation of their seventies work is a somewhat dubious product given the intensely conceptual album-oriented nature of that period. Nonetheless, this is a remarkable effort. It doesn’t try to be exhaustive by any means. But it does offer a representative cross section of 1970’s Floyd, with both epic suites (Shine On You Crazy Diamond) and hit singles (Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2) given the spotlight.
Album Tracks 1. Purple Haze 2. Fire 3. The Wind Cries Mary 4. Can You See Me 5. Hey Joe 6. All Along the Watchtower 1. Stone Free 2. Crosstown Traffic 3. Manic Depression 4. Remember 5. Red House 6. Foxey Lady

This is a nice collection of pre-Electric Ladyland hits by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Wanting to add just a touch of Hendrix to my vinyl collection, this made the perfect addition. This vinyl reissue also includes a cool alternate record cover not used for previous editions.
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition of the second studio album by Metallica, originally released in 1984. The album was recorded in three weeks with producer Flemming Rasmussen at the Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. The artwork, based on a concept by the band, depicts an electric chair in the midst of a thunderstorm. The title was taken from a passage in Stephen King's novel The Stand. Although rooted in the thrash metal genre, the album showcased the band's musical maturity and lyrical sophistication. This was partly because bassist Cliff Burton introduced the basics of music theory to the rest of the band and had more input in the songwriting. Instead of relying strictly on fast tempos as on Kill 'Em All, Metallica broadened it's approach by employing acoustic guitars, extended instrumentals, and more complex harmonies. Album Tracks 1. Fight Fire with Fire 2. Ride the Lightning 3. For Whom the Bell Tolls 4. Fade to Black 1. Trapped Under Ice 2. Escape 3. Creeping Death 4. The Call of Ktulu

One of my all time favorite 2nd albums by a band. The record literally lives up to its title... It sizzles with electricity and it’s a relentless ride indeed. Revisiting this on vinyl for the first time has been a trip.

This CD stand is a little unstable and light, but since I was simply looking for overflow storage for CD’s that didn’t fit my main wooden shelving, this did the trick. Took a little time to assemble, but easy to do so.

I absolutely loved the previous Arcade Fire record, Reflektor. While I have not listened to Everything Now quite as obsessively, it’s certainly a worthy follow-up. The dance-ability and pop factors are still well in check along with their artful craftsmanship. The vinyl packaging is a bonus, perfectly encapsulating the oversaturated consumerism theme of the record. Well worth it!
