Quick response, excellent screen resolution

So far, so good, with this laptop. Boot up is lightning fast, screen looks great with thin bezel and excellent clarity. It took some tweaking to maximize battery life, too much effort in fact and I'm still not quite sure how long it will last unplugged, but internal estimate increased from 2 1/2 hrs to about double that once I changed power and screen settings. I love the thin profile, but it feels substantial enough in use that it in no way seems cheap or that corners were cut in manufacture. Deal of the day made it more affordable.

Replacement for different case, mostly better

The other case for my iPhone 7 finally broke, which wasn't surprising, since the fit was so tight to get the phone out of the holster part that it was always a struggle, plus the ringer switch on the old one was always accidentally getting turned off. This case is mostly better, although it required a separate purchase of a glass protector for the screen, unlike the previous one which was integrated with the case. This one has a turn switch to disable the ringer, which is fairly difficult to manipulate, but is preferable to being too easy to toggle off. No case I've found is perfect, and I preferred the clamp on the old case to this one which just slips down over the edge of a pocket, but overall I'm happier with this unit than the two previous ones for this particular phone. The price was reasonable in the scheme of things, too.

Decades ahead of its time

Having seen this in its original Cinerama roadshow release, it was imperative to me that the restoration maintain the look and feel of the brilliant original without a lot of manipulation or second guessing, and it appears this is about as true to the original as we're likely to see. I saw the film last year both in IMAX in Dallas and the newly struck 70mm print at the Cinerama in Seattle, and both looked and sounded fantastic. After a couple of false starts that should never have happened, Warner Bros. seems to have gotten everything in sync and with proper editing issues resolved. It's a real shame the steelbook was so limited that by the time the corrected versions showed up they were snatched up too quickly, but the version with the booklet and slipcase is quite nice, and the one I purchased was in excellent shape - no evidence of scratched, recycled covers that I have seen online. There are many other great Cinerama productions that deserve a true restoration (picture and stereophonic multi-track sound), including The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm, Khartoum, Circus World, and most especially The Hallelujah Trail, the latter having had a dismal initial Blu-ray release that was incomplete and ineptly mastered. Here's hoping for this 2001: A Space Odyssey to set an example for how it should be done, even considering the initial glitches in disc production.

This take on the perennial Dr. Seuss Christmas favorite is a bit over the top and Jim Carrey’s antics are decidedly a matter of taste. However, with the clever production design and pleasing supporting players, repeated viewings have made it grow on me, and the occasional straining for laughs and lapses that skew it away from entirely kid friendly ultimately don’t spoil the cheerful atmosphere and holiday spirit. The DVD version suffered from lack of detail and seemed overlaid with a hazy appearance, and thankfully this 4K edition goes a long way toward making it look clear enough to see the details of the intricate sets and cartoonish splashes of color. It’s a notable improvement technically and for fans of the film, the picture and sound are hard to fault.

I hadn’t caught up with this film but knew it to have been popular, and at the bargain price was glad to add it to the holiday movie rotation. Some of the vignettes are more successful than others, but performances are generally excellent, notably Laura Linney who enhances every film she is in. The film is a bit overlong and predictable but never boring, often alternately funny and touching.

Dwayne Johnson stars as Mitch Buchannon, a veteran lifeguard who clashes with disgraced athlete/new recruit Matt Brody (Zac Efron). But Buchannon and Brody will have to find a way to work together in order to do what lifeguards do best... bust up a drug smuggling ring. Enjoy movies and other streaming content with this Sony 4K Blu-ray disc player. Built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity allow for media to be streamed in high quality, while a super quick start mode minimizes fuss during use. I noticed there’s no display of movie run time or anything on the front of the player. Is there a way to turn on a display on the front of the player?

I have found that the wire antenna is not powerful enough but am having trouble finding another antenna that has the unusual connection on the rear of the radio. Has anyone found a alternative antenna that works well?
Any F connector (round with flush pin that pushes onto the round connector in back) will also work, not just the odd shaped connector that is supplied (though this one was sufficient for my reception area to receive classical WRR in Dallas, really the only station I was interested in). If BB doesn’t carry one, the usual online suspects will offer ones of greater length, though even those can be problematic depending on your distance from transmission towers. AM isn’t an issue since this unit doesn’t provide an AM band.

Why can I not get the Radio or the CD player to come up on the screen? Tried several times? The time was simple to get.
The input description should appear according to what is selected. Press the power button. If radio is chosen the station number should appear after it reads FM briefly; CD, BT (Bluetooth), Line In, USB, all appear sequentially by pressing the Source button on the remote, or the button immediately to the right of the front panel power button. If that doesn’t happen the unit is likely in need of repair.
