This set was such a hit and miss for me. The parts that are pretty and cool are VERY pretty and cool, but the fails are annoying, too.
To start, I like it better than I thought I would since it was a double dip for me. Despite what I am about to say, I don't regret buying it at all. At this point, I hope they will do a matching set for what I am sure there will be another several movies in the Wickiverse.
First, I really like the steels, although they do almost scream out loud for embossing/debossing. That would have made these nice steels into great steels. The faux leather book feels good in your hands. The faked first pages look nice and authentic - like a book, and it's a nice touch.
I appreciate the inclusion of the two photo cards, but I think they were more of an "oh, wait, this design- stacking steels - is not great. What can we do?" last-minute design inclusion to provide a way to separate the steels once they are out of the shrink wrap. I say that because it's a bit telling that there are only just the two cards for 3 movies.
The hidden-in-a-book idea is thematically great, but the construction and materials were dodgey. A huge improvement would have been had they made the "pages" side of the box a magnetic flap or even just added added a magnetic closure. A flap would have allowed for the steels to be able to slide in and out (with perhaps with some separation built in) Even without a side load, a magnetic way to close it would help (see below about closing). A good example of a better "book" style box is the Lord of the Rings extended bluray book boxed set.
It could still have the false book part with pages, but the cheap plastic insert and steelbook stacking were just not great plans. My pages were damaged which I attribute to bad paper and poor handling in the manufacturing process... bad shipping couldn't really have done that through the shrink wrap. The pages are partially ripped from the staples.
Because it doesn't "close," the book almost has to be wedged into a shelf or laid on its side to not open up and allow steelbooks ri just tumble out. And, minor gripe, it is needlessly larger than it had to be with this kind of design. It will have to be a "on top of the bookcase" title for those of us with tight bluray shelving.
Another quality thing to mention, many of us received damaged books in the mail where it was cracked on a corner of the "page" side. I glued mine back together and moved on, but it was again just sloppy work and cheap materials. That part clearly happened in shipping. My package didn't show signs of excessively poor handling, so I again attribute that to the cheap materials. If yours is intact, handle it carefully because the corners on the side are not held together in any way except the very delicate thin paper wrapped around the cardboard. The corners are not glued on the seam - just held in place by the paper wrap that looks like false pages.
All in all, it is a surprisingly poorer showing than expected for Lionsgate, who has really been raising the bar on retail steelbooks lately.
Even so, the price was still a pretty good for 3 quality steelbooks that have digital codes and a 4K and a bluray for each movie. I just wish the "book" part was less of a missed opportunity. At the price point, it is still a great deal if you do not own the movies in a steelbook or 4K titles. You might hold out for a another boxed set down the road too but who knows if that will happen. I think just a few basic design changes wouldn't have increased the cost that much but would have really given this a chance to really shine.

Great Transfer, Fun movie. "He had to split" lol...
Arnie in his golden time as THE action hero.
The 4K UHD and Dolby 5.1 look and sound great. The steelbook art is very nice. Wish it had a clear slip rather than a paper one...dont let the slip fool you the steelbook looks good. It was an odd choice but I dont hate it as it gave it protection in shipping.
It is nice for what you get. Lost a Star for what you don't get. there are basically no extras. The disc is labeled "feature film" giving a presumption that in other editions it was a two more disc set but you only got the one 4K feature here. This is a terrible trend nowadays where the 4K disc or set is not a definitive piece unto itself. I did not own a bluray of this film but I did have the special edition DVD and there were lots of extras on there. 3 docs and some commentary tracks. super disappointing that these types of things not included this time around.
As bare bones as you get so if this is your first buy of Running Man and you want more.. you may want to look around for supplemental material because it is not here. You get a digital code... but the extras aren't there either.

Amazing 4K transfer, Great Sound... adequate steelbook. I think it is fine, just doesn't knock my socks off like the movie did. I think they could have ventured away ftom what looks like poster art to truly make the steel special but I am satisfied. No brainer buy.

Very nice set but it is expensive. It is numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity which is nice. The Booklet containing rhe discs is nicely illustrated but I really hate sliding discs into cardboard pages, this just begs to damage discs and is not necessary. The blue statue is a little disappointing, it is nicely detailed but it isn't a substantial reasin like it appears but is in fact just a lighter weight plastic The Stop sign on it looks cheap and out of place. It is good looking plastic dinos but disappointing nonetheless. For these reasons I deducted points from an otherwise nice set. Use caution paying full price for it. This should be in the realm of $100-120

Beautiful steelbook... I feel like they could have done more with this but I am still happy with what I got. The movie is excellent- you should see it and if you like steelbooks this is a no brainer. There was a modification of the sound field expecially the infamous speaker destroying note near the beginning... it is not a problem but a solution. I think it is a improvement. Don't let a single note define a movie regardless... it has never looked or sounded this good before.

This edition of Donnie Darko would be great if it was as pictured... What you see is not what tou get, buyer beware. the picture is a deluxe version from Arrow with slipcase and goodies... what you get is just the movie. Be forwarned. I attempted an exchange online given I bought it , they sent me to the store which as you know does not carry inventory. They could only offer a return as I expected. If you are looking for the movie only, you might be ok here. otherwise look elsewhere until they fiix the image.

Tjis set will not "Wow" you. This set does one thing well which is deliver the current 6 movies on bluray in a compact package for a solid price. Mine didn't even have the cardboard sleeve. These appear to be the same transfers as were released individually but they redid the disc art to be a very generic writing on solid light blue disks so its consistent... ly boring. I wish they had a been just a little lazier and simply used the original disc art so they might pop a little better. The case is the swinging door multi-disk design. Each disk has its special features intact as originally issued and Fallout actually comes with a second special features disk, an appreciated surprise in an otherwise very utilitarian release. If you just want the movies on bluray and lack shelf space, this is a great solution. Personally. I am still trying to decide if I want to sell my original individual copies or not. If there weren't a new movie coming out soon it woukd be an easy choice to keep this set and sell the individual movies.

Movie is ok, Steelbook is adequate but does not blow my socks off. So its "good enough", but the steelbook is not a must have. I bought it because I have all of MCU movies in steel so I had no choice really. If you just want the movie, you will need to also decide how much you want steel. I would call this steelbook average. I think this was a missed opportunity to make a great cover image and they played it safe.
