If you love Hogan's Heroes you will love this movie. William Holden won the best actor award for this movie. The supporting actors stole the show and avid movie buffs will recognize most of them. A fun example of what it might have been like to be a prisoner of war. A must have for any war picture fan.

A great John Wayne western!

One of my favorite John Wayne movies. I don't usually pay a lot for any movie but It worth getting the Olive Blu ray edition. The special features are an absolute must see. The John Ford usual cast of supporting actors were all excellent as in other Ford movies. Maureen O' Hara is one my favorite actress' and she did not disappoint. It is always nice to see Native Americans being given roles in Ford movies. As always, the real star of any Ford movie is the landscape and cinematography.

Tom Hanks did an excellent job playing several roles which did not distract from the story in any way. The emotional impact of the story was something that was important to the success of the film.

This is one of my must see Christmas movies each year. I am not a fan of Will Farrell movies but I must admit he did an excellent job as elf. The supporting cast was very good and the story was a lot of fun, Even with this being a comedy there were some fine relational moments as well. A must see for the whole family.

Alan Ladd, Van Heflin and Jean Arthur (in her final screen role) led an incredible cast in one of the best westerns ever made. I have watched this movie over and over and was excited to finally have it on Blu ray. A young Brandon De Wilde showed why he would go on to a fine career. Jack Palance was his usual impressive bad guy. My only complaint would be the lack of special features, which seems to be the norm for some of the old classics. While the commentary is fine - I for one find it hard to watch a movie with the commentary more than once.

This classic western directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne is simply fantastic! They do not make movies like this anymore. There's romance, comedy, and of course action. John Agar and Shirley Temple really click as the love interest. Of course it is your basic U.S. Calvary vs Indians. Great Fun!
