I have always enjoyed this movie and it is nice to finally have it on Blu Ray. Fonda does his usual fine performance. It was fun to watch Walter Brennan play the heavy and he did a wonderful job! This Criterion vehicle has excellent extras including a fine British talk show interview of Fonda.

Would loved to have seen some special features but it was made by Mill Creek which tends to put out movies only. Fortunately, the transfer looks quite good unlike the DVD movies they have put out in the past.

I have waited years for this movie to come out on Blu ray.
The actors did a credible job handling the wagons, horses, and traversing rivers not to mention the lowering of the wagons down a mountainside. Robert Taylor, and John MacIntire showed their talent leading a strong cast. There are special features that make the purchase worth it.

This classic western directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne is simply fantastic! They do not make movies like this anymore. There's romance, comedy, and of course action. John Agar and Shirley Temple really click as the love interest. Of course it is your basic U.S. Calvary vs Indians. Great Fun!
