My wife and I purchased New Super Mario Brothers U to play together specifically and it delivers on all fronts. In an age where it feels like multiplayer is mostly kept within the confines of online competitive gaming, New Super Mario brings on the nostalgia heavily with its one-screen, simultaneous multiplayer that is as familiar as it is modern and, well, fun. With multiple character options and a plethora of options on how you can play together cooperatively to explore the levels, New Super Brothers has no shortage of variety and enjoyment. While I have yet to beat Breath Of The Wild, I have put in about 20 hours into it since I purchased it and it's truly immersive. I admit that I was a bit overwhelmed at first, and still am insofar as just how much there is to do, but the game does a good job of keeping you on track whilst also allowing you the freedom to explore and pursue by your own will. Breath Of The Wild's overall aesthetic is vivid, rich and varied and does a fantastic job of transporting one into the fantastical world of Hyrule. Overall, I'd highly recommend this game to anyone looking for something exploration-driven and grandiose.

It Came From Outer Space was released during sci-fi's golden era and represents one of the more artful expressions of the genre for its time. While there were certainly movies a-plenty with similar titles and themes, It Came From Outer Space was ultimately one of the titles that made a lasting impression on film audiences because it was more than a mere pulp piece. As for the Blu-ray itself, the transfer is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. This particular edition does have a 3D option but I do not have the capabilities to experience said effect so I can only comment on the regular version of the film.

The only reason for the four stars here is because the digibook anniversary edition of Labyrinth is the superior edition of the film. It boasts a new (and noticeably better) transfer and comes in a lavish, attractive package. With that said, this particular edition of Labyrinth here is still serviceable with a quality HD transfer and various special features to boot. If you're just a casual fan, this more economic variation will do but if Labyrinth is one of your favorites then you owe it to yourself to get the anniversary edition.

This is a nice collection of both of the theatrical The X-Files films, the first being fairly essential viewing in regards to the flow of the TV series. The second title, I Want To Believe, served as a nice loose conclusion to the series at its time and turned out well despite its many development issues. In short, if you're a fan of The X-Files then your library is in need of these two high-definition transfers.

The original Resident Evil 2 was regarded as one of the best survival horror games of its time, and arguably ever, making any type of remake a difficult task to take on due to its source material. Boasting impressive Japanese development and keeping the original game's spirit intact, the modern Resident Evil 2 here is probably the best survival horror game this generation of consoles have seen thus far. The atmosphere of the game is continuously tense and gloomy, puzzles are abundant, supplies remain relatively scarce and the classic Resident Evil vibe is present throughout. What more, then, could any Resident Evil and/or horror fan ask for? Highly recommended!

David Lynch is a well-revered director in most film circles and Blue Velvet is one of his best, and most accessible, achievements. Being something of a neo-noir, Blue Velvet follows a fairly traditional narrative and quickly spirals into something both perverse and maddening. This particular blu-ray edition of Blue Velvet showcases an impressive transfer with various special features that make it the most definitive release of the film thus far. Essential viewing!

I openly admit that I am not a connoisseur of phones and use only about 15% of the features available on modern phones. With that said, I do like the S9 here because everything I need is accessible and customizable in a few easy finger-taps and, thus far, it has been without glitches. I listen to "lossless" audio (FLAC files) and Google Play Music supports these as well as their tags which is the predominant feature that drew me to the Galaxy phone (as opposed to the iPhone which does not support FLAC).

The Blair Witch Project created quite a buzz upon its release in the '90s and has maintained a fairly positive reputation within the horror community ever since. Although Cannibal Holocaust is typically viewed as an earlier example of the "found footage" subgenre (one that I don't actually care for, save for these two films), The Blair Witch Project is certainly the one that opened up that Pandora's box, for better or worse. Anyway, I like how it's clearly modern in its approach (the whole thing is like a home video) but very much also inspired by classic horror in its "less is more" approach. Highly recommended to horror films old and new.
