The problem with programmable remotes with IR is you they are only as good as the operator.

When using the activity buttons, it can take 10-15 seconds to send all the commands out it needs to. If you don't have the remote pointing in the right direction the whole time then something is not going to turn or switch to the correct input. Not many people like to sit and wait for 15 seconds for anything anymore.

Their Companion remote is cheaper and doesn't use IR right from the remote. All that means is when you hit the activity button, it doesn't matter what you do with the remote. The Companion talks to the hub and the hub does all the work. Smarter and more reliable, in my opinion.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It does what it's suppose to do. The new Spectrum modems seem to have a high failure rate right from install. This remedied my situation with no issues. The limited two Ethernet ports is a head scratcher, but a simple switch will remedy this.

I use it on a Mac Mini to get a third monitor. It's a bit laggy of course, but I park my email, calendar & music screens on it so it works great.

I've had two issues with the Mac Mini seeing it on start up, but a reboot has fixed it.

I converted to Mac 3 years ago with my first Mac Mini. That one was getting slow so I upgraded. Piece of cake to duplicate my old Mini to the new one.

I still may find myself installing a solid state for a little better speed. Regardless, overall very satisfied.

I use it mainly for HomeKit and renting movies from iTunes.

I wish the Bluetooth was a bit stronger. It limits the a HomeKit abilities. I'm an Apple person through and through, but their devices are always a bit week on the wireless side of things.

That's why it loses a star. Otherwise, fast and rock solid.

I've downloaded a few games and app as well and I'm guessing there's something for everybody.

I've been to Red Rocks many times. The closest I've seen to Mumford and Sons out there would be the Avette Brothers. There's not a better place for a concert. It should be on everyone's bucket list. The video and audio is prime for a great experience.
