I had a problem with my internet dropping offline every day or two with an older Linksys router. This unit not only solved that problem, but allowed me to eliminate a range extender due to its increased range. Highly recommended!

Easy to set up if you are somewhat computer savvy. Video and sound work well over high speed ISP. Night vision has limited range, but is clear up to about 10 feet. Phone app works well and camera can be viewed remotely. Although not advertised for outdoor use, mine is under a protected porch and I've had no problems. Wish there was better recording options however.

Do you have to pay a monthly fee at all? to record?
No, if you are using D-View Cam or the D-Link recorder. Some third party applications may have a fee. I don't have any information on them.

Two cameras sharing a wireless router?
I have the DCS233)L dlink cloud camera installed wirelessly through my dual band wireless router. My neighbor wants to install a camera like mine on her garage which is about 25 feet from where my camera is installed on my garage. She does not have a wireless router---my question is, can she install her camera onto her computer but use my wireless router settings to watch on her own computer?
Yes, as long as the range is not too great to your router, but you'll have to give her access to your cameras also.

If I have another camera (same brand different model) can add it to our camera system to show the 2 different models?
Yes...assuming it is a later model compatible with D-Link's web site. I believe all D-Link cameras are compatible with the application, "D-View Cam".

is the camera visible to the intruder e.g. does it have any type of light on it
It is visible...depending on where you locate it. There is a green light on the front of the camera that is very visible at night.

Different viewing options?
How do I view what this camera records? I've seen a few answers to similar questions that you can watch the footage in real time from a smartphone app. Is that app a one-time purchase or a service you'd need to pay for monthly? I understand the camera itself doesn't store recordings (like, there's no memory card inside it). The D-Link website offers a service for this? How does that work? Do I log into my website account when i get home and get to view the footage from the day? Do you have to pay for a subscription to the footage storage and viewing capabilities on the site? Is there anything else you have to do? If the camera is tampered with, is the footage still backed up on the site for me to access (prior to the camera being shut off/destroyed by the intruder, that is)? Does it continuously record so you select a time frame of the day to view the footage from a particular window, or does it only show the times during the footage that motion was detected? Sorry this is long.

Purchased 8 cameras 933l and am on vacation and now 7 of them have the

Movement
When motion is detected, will the unit send me an email notification and a live feed of the image?
Yes, it will send you an email alert, and a snapshot (not live video) if you have set this up during install. However, I have found this to become somewhat of a nuisance as I have had trouble with motion being overly sensitive. Too many alerts!
