I had to replace my one-year old Sharp TV (which was almost exactly like this model) because of a lightning strike. Loved the old model and so I looked around and decided to get one just like it (just a newer version). The user interface has been slightly improved and I like it a little better -- more graphic. Same outstanding picture on either antenna or cable. Only drawback is that they removed the "previous channel" button from the remote -- I liked that feature (it now has a "game" mode button instead), but I can use the old remote, and it works fine with the new unit. CAC/HDMI interface works great, too, however if you have the "quick start up" feature activated on the Bluray, the TV doesn't turn off when you turn off the Bluray, as it thinks the unit is still turned on, but that's not a big deal; turn the TV off and the Bluray turns off, turn the Bluray on and the TV turns on. Great as a bedroom TV, which is where I use this one.

The Motorola SURFboard seriously outperforms the modems from Comcast. I noticed a measurable difference immediately after installation. Connected to my 150 mbps router, even my wifi ran much faster and without any connection drops like I would get with my rental modem. Considering that it winds up paying for itself in a few months, saving the ever-increasing rental fees from Comcast (they've increased the rental fees twice just since I bought this modem), this purchase is a no-brainer. Further, it eliminates the cable company's use of my bandwidth, electricity, etc. for their own use by not having their "wifi" modem with a second antenna operating 24/7 on my dime.

Needed a new TV for the bedroom, so was looking for a "medium" size flat screen. This Sharp was one of the best buys I've ever made. The LED picture is much cleaner and crisper than I had imagined -- I've always had LCDs in the past. Sound is really good, even without the soundbar. Setup is actually pretty quick, too. The only problem I've had with this TV is that the HDMI jacks are a little larger than some HDMI plug ends -- they tend to loosen themselves and cause picture disruptions; you have to re-seat the plug into the jack; either that or replace your HDMI cables with ones that have slightly larger plugs on them. This TV works great with my Sony Blu-Ray player (via CEC) and I can use either remote to control both the TV and player. All in all for just over $200 for a 32" LED, this was a great buy. Wish I would have bought two of them at the time.

Sleep mode settings

I plan to use the TV as a pc monitor and I prefer NOT to use the sleep mode therefore:
1) Can you turn the sleep mode OFF?
2) If sleep can NOT be turned off, What is the maximum IDLE time BEFORE the sleep mode automatically starts?
3) How QUICK does it respond from the sleep mode?
Thank You!
When you say "sleep mode", if you are referring to the sleep timer, that is not turned on unless you specifically set it. If you are referring to the 'standby' mode when the TV is not receiving a signal, that feature cannot be turned on/off, it is automatic; when the TV does not receive a signal from the selected input source, it first displays a message that there's "no signal", then after several minutes the TV goes into standby. This time cannot be set/changed. To restore it to active, it's the same amount of time as turning on the TV, usually about 30 seconds or less on mine. If your computer does not shut down/sleep, and as long as it is sending a signal to the TV, it should not go into standby.

Is this modem compatible with COMCAST?

Will this modem work with Comcast?
Absolutely. I use it on Comcast internet, connected to a wifi router, and it works great. In fact, it works far better than the rental modems from Comcast, and saves $$.
