The DVD in my package had me taking wonderful shots the first day. The camera controls are intelligently placed for quick and easy operation. There are features that satisfy the novice and fine tuning controls for the most demanding professional. The best camera I have ever owned bar none.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can you buy auto focus lenses

I am thinking about buying the D3100 but does it have an auto focus option on the camera itself or is there a lense you can buy seprately or is the only way to focus these cameras by hand?
The included Lens has the Auto-focus mechanisms built in. The Lens will have a (AF) on/off for manual focus control. However, the camera's electronics work through the lens to actually function.
When and if you buy additional lens you will want ones that have AF in their product description. Another feature you may consider is the VR feature of the lens. VR stands for Vibration Reduction system and will help you capture those perfect shots. The lens that came with my D3100 had both AF and VR. I believe this is the standard package from Best Buy.
