simply put, yes. Use the SONOS application on your computer and set it's music library as one of the shared sources to the Sonos System.

TV does NOT need to be on, however there is a cool feature you might like. By default when you turn your TV power on the SONOS Soundbar changes it's source from music playing over to the TV audio. And you can use your TV/Universal remote to control the Sonos volume...
