I have had this modem for over 4 years and it's still running smoothly. It's been provisioned on both Comcast and WIDE OPEN WEST network(s). Works great.

Good product. At first I wasn't buying it based on the fact that it's not essentially a Belkin product ( since the acquisition). That was a real turn off. Despite my personal views on the other company (belkin) this router performs well. I have only had it lock up on me once, but I have at least 12 different devices running thru it at any given time. Two of those devices are a strain for any router/switch to deal with. Overall I'm content for now. I even bought the SE4008 switch because it matches! LOL
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Seem to last me a long time
What's not so great: Doesn't make me dinner.
I use these drives for my storage in DVR boxes for commercial application. Rarely I have failures.

What modem will do the job?

We have brighthouse for tel, tv and internet. What modem wld do the job?
That modem will work. It doesn't have a router, so you would need to provide that. Or you could use the motorola SBG 6580 (I think that's it).

Present modem includes land line phone connection but subject product does not. How do I address this?

Unfortunately if your provider is also providing the VOIP (phone) then you are stuck using their equipment. I would move to vonage if you want your own equipment.

My modem is exactly like the large picture, except the bottom icon is blue not yellow. and it is constantly blinking. What does that mean?

That is just the modem sending and receiving data. It's just flashing to indicate that it's doing its thing.

Will this modem support digital phone?

I need to get a new modem but I cannot tell if this one will support digital phone service.
It doesn't have a dedicated VOIP port (phone jack). However it will support VOIP as long as your provider doesn't block it for some reason. You would be able to use magic jack or vonage with it.

Yes and no. It is fully compatible as it is DOCSIS 3. However you will lose your VOIP. So if you don't use their phone service, then you're all set.

Absolutely, this is a modem like any other. It has no idea what is going to be plugged into it. AirPort Extreme or airport express is just like any other router. Except you get to pay more for them with less custom settings for specific needs, and shorter wifi range... But great routers! lol
