Why is one $50 and another $250?
Well if you ever heard that phrase, "you get what you pay for" that would apply a bit here. It's just some are more robust then others. If you only had a couple devices connecting, then the processor(s) wouldn't have to work very hard to keep up. On that note, same applies to the expensive routers, they usually have dual core processors in them to keep up with the possible extremes that the users may inflict on them.
