Samsung Music Frame
Summary: Cool, practical, and fun speaker alternative.
Pros:
* Cool. This is a nifty idea and it looks great.
* Sound. For the form factor, the sounds is surprisingly rich.
* Practical. Trying to find spaces to put sound playback devices can be a challenge. If you have some wall space, this unit presents a practical alternative that looks great.
* Connectivity. Enabling WiFi mode opens up music playback options! Set up the unit in Smart Things app and configure rooms, etc. Playback casting from hour devices is now an option. Use your favorite smart assistant, or home automation.
* Customizable. The mere fact that the image can be swapped out at will is amazing. I expected this to be a fabric speaker with a set of prints. But this isn't that type of speaker. The sounds traverses through channels along the side and rear. Choose any picture that inspires and have at it. They include two images that can serve as sizing templates for your own images.
* Controls. The controls are fairly straight forward, but not necessarily intuitive. Some haphazard fumbling might help you discover how to control the unit if you loose the manual (and don't think to search the net).
* Expandible. This unit can be made part of a sound system with compatible Samsung TVs (only). Imagine your surround speakers being artwork rather than conspicuous speakers on the wall or ceiling. It can also be included in an audio group via a SmartThings integration adaptor.
* Mounting/ Stand. The instructions are clear enough. The options are great: a stand mode to prop on your table, or wall kit where you hang it like a picture on a plate that gets mounted to the wall. Pretty convenient!
Cons:
* Connectivity. The Bluetooth connectivity is weird. Using an iPhone, changing the volume makes the music seem as if it is skipping. Like a scratch on a record. I tried with my Surface Laptop Go 3 and it works fine. So it may be specific to the iPhone.
Use:
We listen to music everyday. When we cook, when we visit, when we lounge, even when we sleep. A device that integrates into my home automation setup (SmartThings) makes this device easier to use. Who wants to be pushing buttons on a frame to adjust settings? We plan on expanding the system once we buy a new Samsung TV.
If you're planning a Samsung Surround system for form more than function, these are the best value.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fast speeds. Power efficiency. Temperature control. It’s everything you want in a storage device. It's compatible with the latest PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces, and boasts improved performance compared to 970 EVO Plus.

Good value and performance.

Samsung - 990 EVO SSD 2TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 4x4 | Gen 5x2 M.2
Summary: Good value and performance.
Pros:
* Performance. The NVMe storage performs well. I wasn't able to achieve 5000 MB/s stated on the box, but for real world use this unit delivers almost as much.
* Capacity. High capacity in a small form factor at a decent price point still is a struggle to find. This unit checked all of the boxes.
* Software. The management software is pretty sleek. You get it by downloading it from the website. The software lets you benchmark, view disk and performance properties for the disk, as well as clone your original [boot] (or other) disk if you're planning on replacing it with this disk as an upgrade.
Cons:
* Performance. I tried different variations of tests. But no matter the combination of settings and install methods (external USB-C adaptor, or NVMe slot on new laptop), I couldn't quite get to the theoretical maximum throughput advertised. I tried using Samsung's own Samsung Magician software, but the results were similar. Not really a problem, as this pretty typical. But if this important to you, it's something to consider.
Use:
Depending on real world performance I was going to use this as either boot or data volume for gaming binaries. To make things easier, I opted for secondary data disk for game binaries. The games load substantially faster than the original OEM disk equipped with the laptop. What is "faster?" Its relative and depends on your level of patience, so I took some screen shots of benchmarks to provide numbers. It is also much larger. Now I can install all of my games without having to play musical chairs due to space. Overall, this is a good value and NVMe storage performance is always the way to go these days - if that needs saying.

GoTrax XR ADVANCE Commuting Electric Scooter w/12mi Max Operating Range & 15.5mph Max Speed
Summary: Smaller, but capable commuting scooter.
Pros:
* Industrial look offers a pronounced get-to-work aesthetic but it cuts out some of the more refined touches of its bigger cousin.
* Control. The accelerator works super well and offers great control - expected for a GoTrax.
* Breaks. The brakes are equally responsive and provide the stopping power you need; but beware breaking at high speeds!
* Head and tail lamps. The lamp is similar to other models. The tail lamp and flashing are less pronounced. We don't ride in the evenings much, so less of a concern.
* Battery. This unit is smaller because of its reduces range. That is okay, because we use this alongside our other GoTrax and while the limits are different, the ride is just as smooth.
* Enclosure/frame. While this unit resembles its bigger cousin, it is a bit smaller in length and weight. It feels substantial i.e. "well made."
* No frills. We have owned scooters that we use for recreation. It didn't feel safe for long distances, and it felt like it was designed for children even if it wasn't marketed as such. Maybe it was the flashing gimmicky LEDs everywhere, or the wimpy frame. This GoTrax compliments the unit we used to replace the wimpy competition and the lighter unit makes this the preferred unit for short distances particularly where we might need to fold and lug it around.
* Weight. GoTrax scooters are heavyier than the wimpy competition. This unit, though smaller than its cousin, is still hefty, but a fair trade off.
Cons:
* Charging port. I dislike proprietary charging bricks and connections. Though proprietary power is the norm, I wish it weren't. A magnetic power port would be nice since these ports will snag if you forget to disconnect before riding.
Use:
We recommend GoTrax scooters because they feel sturdy. They aren't flashy, but if short commutes are the primary function of this device in your life then this unit is perfect. We own a larger cousin and have been looking to get a pair since our previous wimpy one just went kaput after only a short while. The GoTrax deals just fine with some uneven terrain, as well, something other units have struggled with.

De'Longhi - La Specialista Arte Evo Espresso Machine with Cold Brew - Stainless Steel
Summary: Svelte and Svunctionally delicious!
Pros:
* Svelte. The design and form factor of this unit are top notch. Not solid metal, but it is crafted exquisitely.
* Functional. This unit has everything you need to make espresso or a cold brew - minus the water and beans.
* Controls. Thoughtfully placed and just the right amount of controls. May seem overwhelming, but every button and knob is used.
* Reservoir. The unit's water reservoir is surprisingly large.
* Easy. I've owned other espresso makers including another De'Longhi combination coffee maker. The precision of control and the fresh grind truly make a difference. La Specialista truly makes a more authentic coffee-shop espresso accessible.
* Cold Brew. Generally, multi-function devices fall into a mediocre rating for whatever they do. This unit does cold brew a little different. I have a dedicated cold brew machine. But it is noisy, it is leaky, and its a lot of work. This unit uses the same physics as other machines, except it uses the same equipment to extract coffee deliciousness from beans using room-temperature water.
* Delicious. I know the beans are what make the coffee. But this unit truly makes a delicious beverage. I never cared to use the other espresso (combo) machines, or my cold brew so I gave it all up. I've now made several of each since getting this unit. It's fun, easy, and delicious.
* Accessories. The accessories are all useful and look and feel premium. My other combo espresso/coffee maker came with a cheap-o tamper and scoop. This unit features a nice stainless steel press and a rubber fitted mat to hold it and the portafilter while tamping down the grind. The portafilter even has an attachment collar that allows you to ensure no grind spillage.
* Automated Grinder. The collar for the portafilter allows you to insert the portafilter into the grind cubby. Pushing the portafilter inwards firmly once kicks off an automatic grind of the beans - and just enough for the cups selected. You can add/stop it manually by pressing the portafilter inwards multiple times. But just pushing it once will grind precisely enough coffee. It's lovely and results in minimal mess and cleanup of coffee grind dust.
* Value. A premium appliance with a great value and well known brand.
Cons:
* Reservoir. The reservoir is in the back. Thankfully it is slim, so it allows for relative ease in removing/replacing it in between water refills. But, depending on your upper cabinet depth, it might be annoying. It also makes the unit take up more counter depth. I'll be placing this on a sliding tray designed for heavy small appliances like coffee makers, and stand mixers. I think a side reservoir would probably have been a more welcome feature.
* No-hard-plumbing. Given the heft of this appliance (it isn't light and isn't easily moved), I truly feel these sort of appliances should offer an option for connectivity to hard plumbing. I can retrofit the unit with one, that isn't a concern, but it would have been awesome built-in and for such a small cost/impact to design.
Use:
Simple. We make morning espressos and lunch cold brews. We enjoy every sip, too!
I recommend buying a counter sliding tray for small appliances. That will allow you to push the unit as far back as possible while allowing easy access to the unit if accessing the reservoir is too tight of a fit for your kitchen.

GIGABYTE - 16" 165Hz Gaming Laptop IPS - Intel i7-13620H with 32GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 1TB SSD
Summary: Great value upper tier gaming laptop.
Pros:
* Form Factor. No frills and lean.
* Performance. This is a mixed bag. Games perform extremely well on this unit at maximum settings. That is what counts. See below for additional comments.
* Ports. This unit has a plethora of ports arranged all around the left, rear, and right sides of the laptop. Left: Mic, Headphones, 2xUSB-A, Rear: Proprietary power, 1xUSB-C, 1xMini Display Port, HDMI, Right: Micro SD slot, 1xUSB-C, Compact RJ-45 NIC. For specs, check out the Best Buy product specifications listed. Its more ports than I see for laptops at this price point, and even form factor.
* Storage. This unit comes equipped with 1TB (M.2 gen4 SSD) storage. A lot of units at this price point stick you with 500GB, or 750GB if you're lucky. If you're a gamer, this unit should hold a number of games lets you worry about upgrading until much much later.
* Screen. The screen size is great! It's vibrant and crisp. During the day and at certain angles, there can be a hazy glare - but only really noticeable on dark content.
* Value. On balance, this unit delivers good value.
Cons:
* Performance. Basic Windows performance seems to be spotty with strange lag and a prolonged boot time. Windows PC Manager says boot time is 1 second. But thats a lie. I can get tea and go to the restroom (#1) in the time it takes for the unit to boot.
* Stability. This unit has blue screened three times. I believe it was the result of a Windows update that failed, but didn't manage to catch the message each time it rebooted. It finally recovered and I ran cleanup routines including use of Microsoft's new PC Manager. It does seem a tad bit more responsive. It hasn't blue screened or halted like it did
* Design. While an excellent form factor, the unit isn't anything to write home about visually. Its a plan Jane design. For the price point, it could have been a little more fancy.
* Sound. The built-in speakers, as with most laptops, are horrific. Don't expect to enjoy any experience.
* Noise. At maximum and even medium settings for the games I tested, the unit is LOUD. I have to turn up the volume to 75-100% to be able to hear ambient sounds in game and occasionally even dialog and action.
Use:
I use this laptop to game. I installed some of my favorite games to check out frame rates at the highest settings for each game. They all play supremely smooth and with fantastic visual quality. Frame rates at maximum settings easily exceed 90FPS. Some of the cons means I won't use this for my daily driver.
If you can afford to spend 500-750$ more, I might consider another unit. If you don't need any flashing colors, this unit will work great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GoPro - HERO12 Black Action Camera Bundle - Black
Summary:
New welcome features in familiar form.
Pros:
* Upgrades: this unit has a few upgrades that help it stand apart from its predecessor. I'll cover those in the Differences section.
* Form factor. The Hero 12 retains many of the best attributes of the Hero 11. This includes the svelte form factor.
* Quality. I've tried some of the cheaper knockoffs and I own a Hero 11. The GoPros are by and far the best quality action cameras I've used.
* Ecosystem. The GoPro ecosystem and third-party ecosystem is unrivaled. Though I got the accessory bundle that includes everything to get started, I already have accessories I can re-use from my Hero 11. The bundle provides spares.
* Optical video mage stabilization has always been a strength of GoPro; this model now features "HyperSmooth 6.0" auto stabilization and attitude adjustment up even while completely flipped!
* Extra wide field of view sensor allows for capturing special moments in their entirety.
* Touch screen controls. The interface hasn't changed between models, so the consistency is welcome. The screen does seem more responsive.
* GoPro iOS app setup is fast - just be sure to enable Bluetooth. The app detects the GoPro and boom! The app continues to provide easy to quick editing capabilities including adding text, soundtrack, transitions, and filters. It even offers templating to get you on your way to making cool quick video. Transfers can be a bit slow for 4K content.
Cons:
* I'm not convinced this is a con. I feel like the differences between model Hero 11 and Hero 12 are noticeable, but not sure they warrant a new model. Maybe a model refresh is all that was needed. Why mention this? Well, the question really is: "are the differences worth 50-100$ (depending on when/where you buy)?" If you're buying your first GoPro HERO or an additional one for your household, I'd say YES! If you're considering an upgrade to replace a Hero 11, probably not.
Differences between the Hero 11 and 12:
* Some subtle design changes. For instance, it features blue accents and frameless mounting threads at the bottom.
* Now supports HDR video. This will allow the camera to capture more color detail in bright and dark scenes. I have included a picture of a low light picture.
* This unit features a longer battery life. From marketing: It can record up to 70 minutes of 5.3K video with HyperSmooth stabilization on, while the Hero 11 can only record up to 35 minutes¹².
* Now connect to wireless devices to makes it easier to add voice overs.
* Now supports more aspect ratios (9:16 and 8:7) across all video resolutions and modes.
Use:
We own a HERO 11. We wanted another unit so that we could film activities together, but from different perspectives. We generally get recent models so when the opportunity arose to get the Hero 12 we leapt at it. We don't use just GoPros for action shots (such as bike riding, hiking, or mounting on our Corgi). We also record videos of us cooking, videos of lightning and thunderstorms, and other activities. Why not use our phones? For one, optical image stabilization of phones is not great. Not since the Nokie 1580, anyhow. That is why we don't use them for action shots, despite phone marketing that suggests otherwise. Plus, we have to keep our phones on and trained on a subject, or exposed to the elements, etc.
If this model is something you're considering and don't already own an older model, do it. You won't regret it.

Ray-Ban - Meta Smart Wayfarer Bluetooth Audio Glasses - Matte Black/Polarized Gradient Graphite
Summary:
Bold, comfortable, and feature packed. Improved over first generation.
Pros:
* Fit. These units fit nice and snug on my wide head. They are comfortable to wear for moderate periods of time.
* Look. Typical of Ray Ban, these have a very classic yet sleek look. If it weren't for the lights, I don't think would guess they were Smart Glasses.
* Weight. These units feel a tad lighter than the previous generation of Wayfarer, but not so much that they feel cheap.
* Build. In fact, these units feel really well made. I like my glasses to have a bit of stiffness to them while opening up. Why? Because I like snug fits.
* Sleek. These units have hidden the electronics quite well. Buttons have a barely noticeable profile, speakers hidden, and the power button almost eluded me were it not for my experience with the previous generation.
* Case/ Battery. As with the previous generation, the carrying case is also the charging case. It has its own battery to charge the glasses while on the go. The case is made to resemble a more classic leather carrying case. The power/charging/pairing LED is thoughtfully present on the magnetic clasp that secures the case closed. The USB-C charging port is on the bottom and the Bluetooth pairing button tucked away in the back. The magnetic clasp has excellent strength and unlikely to open due to a drop. The case itself has two retractable prongs that firmly grip the glasses when placed inside. In fact, maybe too snug! But these ensure that the glasses are making the proper and contact with the charging terminals which are on the bottom side of the nose rest. They also ensure the glasses won't fall out of the case should the clasp come undone during a drop.
* Image and Video Quality. The original Wayfarers captured surprisingly high-quality images and videos. It has the same 12 megapixels as the iPhone Pro Max 12 and 13. Though they don't state it in the specs, it looks to have some form of optical image stabilization (OIS) because videos are remarkably stable. Filming a "found footage" video, provided recording duration allowed, with these would not be as nauseating.
* Audio. The audio quality of these glasses is equally as surprising as the original model. It is crisp and for a second can be confusing - as in you might forget you don't have earphones on! If you're on a hike or a walk or bike ride these will provide plenty of great quality sound while granting situational awareness as your ears remain open and uncovered. Sure, bass won't be as deep, but if you're wanting to jam with these like you would any other type of ear bud, then you should adjust your expectations and consider your primary use case for glasses such as these.
* (Voice) Controls. The controls are responsive! The double tap to kick off a Spotify playlist is awesome, the volume slide back and forth works well, and the tap to take calls or pause/resume work just as you would want and without the unsightly presence of physical buttons. Though there is one button that protrudes slightly for camera control, the voice commands of Meta work well too. In fact, I feel they are even more responsive than the previous generation of Wayfarer. Saying, "Meta take a picture" takes a picture in an instant without the delay I expected.
* Privacy. The camera privacy design is thoughtful. These glasses go a step further than the previous generation to guarantee privacy: the external subject facing cameras feature a LED that cannot be covered. Doing so will cause the camera to prompt you to remove the obstruction. This is a departure from the previous generation.
* UV protection. These units are equipped with UV-A and UV-B protective coating for your eyes.
* Options. These units come in 10 varieties of color and lens options. I had my previous generation Wayfarers equipped with prescription lenses featuring customized lenses (transitions + prescription) from Lenscrafters. I think I'll do the same with these units.
Cons:
* Privacy. As much I respect people's concerns regarding being photographed or recorded, in today's day and age, I feel like it should just be a given. We have phones, we have home security cameras, we have retail cameras, we even have traffic and satellite cameras. We even have drones (I have two). Snapping pictures or videos of scenery, venues, landmarks, landscapes, or events are virtually guaranteed to have unwitting subjects included. If anything, I feel it can cause a reaction where none is warranted. Imagine grabbing a snapshot of a subject (non-human) in the distance. Then imagine that there is a person in between you and the subject. Now with the LED always visible (i.e. unconcealable), you could elicit a reaction by the unwitting subject despite them not being the subject. I think most people are reasonable, but I also feel that this might be problematic and cause issues. Again, completely within their rights, but I think the controls and judgement should be left to the photographer - similarly to when we do the same without phones and drones. An option to disable the LED should be available. I won't be taking *this* pair to places where I might expect a bunch of people to be around and so that limits their use in places with high traffic like popular hiking spots and land marks.
* Size. I wish the sizes were better described. Large vs standard doesn't tell me much and I do wonder if the large would have been a better fit. I didn't know about the option and therefore didn't try them on. Though the fit of the standard is snug and comfortable, I wonder if the large would be similar but perhaps more proportional. It's something to consider, but neither here nor there for me now given my use.
Use:
So, the primary use for these glasses is I think what the Wayfarer was designed for: I go for walks with my doggies. I go for bike rides. I go hiking with my family. Even driving around town. If I need to listen to music, take calls, or snap photos of my adventures I can do so without having to carry or pull out my phone. I can do so while being aware of my surroundings and while protecting my eyes from UV.
I have my regular prescription glasses I use for when I'm at my desk and don't need them for any other activity - so the size I selected isn't a problem. But if you need something you plan on making your primary glasses, then consider the size you select and whether or not there participating Lenscrafters near you than can customize the lenses to your needs.
Overall, I feel these glasses are a great value and I think if you have a need similar to mine, these are an excellent choice and an upgrade against the first generation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Microsoft - Surface Laptop Go 3 12.4" Touch-Screen - Intel Core i5 with 8GB Memory - 256GB SSD (Latest Model) Sage
Summary:
Svelte and light yet power packed.
Pros:
* Lightweight! 2.5 lbs. That's it. This unit is remarkably light.
* Build. Typical Microsoft Surface quality. This unit is built solid. The lid glides open and closed. It can be a bit jarring if you're used to worrying about the flex from lifting any laptop's monitor lid.
* Svelte Sage. Also in typical Surface fashion, this unit is sexy. I opted for the Sage because I thought I'd change things up a bit. My heavy gaming laptops are black. My previous Surface models were all gray. The sage is subtle, but there and I'm happy with my choice.
* Touchscreen. You might think that for the price point you wouldn't get a touch screen. Well, Surface has always been about the experience. If you like touchscreens, you'll be pleased to know that this unit's is responsive.
* Biometric Power Button. This unit's Windows Hello is enabled by the super-fast biometric power button that reads your fingerprint(s) in an instant. Love it.
* Camera. The camera works well and adjusts well to different lighting conditions. Perfect for when you're on the go and need to attend a video conference call or just want to check in on a loved one.
* Microsoft. The Microsoft software (and hardware) ecosystem is rich. With cross platform portability, I can do all of my work on this unit when on the go. Office, Edge, even Remote Desktop. Passwords. Mail. It is all there wherever and whichever device you choose to use. The Surface is built to optimize those experiences.
* Accessories. Speaking of hardware ecosystem. Pair this unit with a Surface Mouse and your experience will be golden. There are keyboards, docks, mice, speakers, headphones, pens, etc. that you can use with your unit to boost your productivity in whatever fashion you need.
* Specifications. For the price point, I feel like the specifications are reasonable. Excluding OS consumption, 256 GB goes fast, but if you're using OneDrive - and I do extensively for personal and professional use - then it really isn't a concern. 8 GB of RAM I feel is fair, too. The unit has been remarkably performant and consistent.
* Dolby Audio. The Dolby bit is a bit overrated because let's face it, laptop speakers are never going to compete with a nice pair of desktop speakers or headphones (such as the Bose Quiet Comfort or even the Meta Wayfarer glasses). They do perform well and while you can't host a party with the unit's audio, you can groove while working on the GO. The fun thing about this unit is that you can't see the speakers and that is because they are below the keyboard. If there is a feature I think Microsoft could iterate on, I suppose this would be to improve the sound (notably the bass). Given the universal challenge across the form factor, it's hardly a detractor or a con.
Cons:
* Ports. I wish Microsoft would retire the proprietary power port. With the prevalence of USB-C and higher wattage units, a second USB-C port would make more sense. Frankly, I am not sure what the proprietary port brings to the table anymore. Even Microsoft new "docks" or port replicators, are USB-C. The shipped power brick supplies 39 W max. I kept the power brick in the original box and just use my own 100W USB-C PD charger. It charges everything USB-C and powers/charges this unit just fine - one less thing to carry!
* Lid. This is a minor suggestion. I feel the lid could have benefited from a small indention or something to allow easier opening of the lid. It isn't hard to open! But it being so light, I haven't figured out the best way to open the lid without lifting the entire unit to find the spot my fingers can grasp to open the lid. Teehee. To be fair, this is a recuring problem with laptops for me. I feel this is definitely deliberate as the design aesthetic could be impacted by this. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but that is really the worst thing I have to complain about. :D
Use:
I have a desktop computer with two displays which I use for every day WFH. I have a substantial gaming laptop that I use for... gaming. I also own an fruitPad which I use for mobile games and light browsing. I have owned various Surface tablets since the original release years ago (ARM) and I have loved them all. This Surface Laptop Go 3 is the first of Microsoft's laptops I've had the pleasure of working with (not including the brief time using my spouses Surface Book). I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this unit. I appreciated the flexibility of the 2-in-1 Surface tablets, but for working regularly, the Surface Laptop's really do make more sense for me.
Now I keep this unit near me when I need to hop on quickly to knock out a bit of work (I am a DBA and working in SaaS operations). I can do all of my work and don't have to fumble around with detachable keyboards, or kickstand angles, or kickstand surfaces. I just open the laptop, and, in a few seconds, I am logged into work and getting work done. I also use this when I have my own personal computing to do but don't want to be in my office doing it or have a heavy gaming laptop on my lap.
I love this thing!
Note:
If you're looking for a game capable unit, I would advise considering another model. The only model in the present Surface line up that have GPUs designed for gaming is the Surface Laptop Studio 2. If I already didn't have a gaming laptop AND also need super portability (think travel/airport), I would have seriously considered the SLS2, but I do and I don't and so the Surface Laptop Go 3 is a perfect fit for my needs.
I didn't comment on battery life because my use is always on the "performance" end. That is, I don't like to operate on recommended or power-savings mode unless I'm desperate for battery conservation and don't have a charger with me. For testing I have used this unit to browse sites including those that render 3D objects, and edit documents, such as this review, for several hours. I even worked through IT Chapter 2 without a charger connected just fine and with plenty of juice left. While its power usage on "recommended" definitely looks like it could go beyond a few hours, I'm not sure it would reach the 15 hours listed unless it is in power-savings mode.
I would recommend this to a friend!

iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum & Mop - Woven Neutral
Summary: Performant, powerful, multi-purpose compact robot vacuum.
Pros:
* Performant. I have another Roomba and I love it. But this one easily outperforms it in a direct comparison.
* Powerful. This unit feels substantial, and you can feel the power behind the motors/wheels and the performance is clearly visible.
* Vacuum and Mop. Multi-functional robot offers you the flexibility to clean different flooring types.
* Self-emptying. The self-emptying base form factor is different than the jX models. It features a lower wider profile and offers a small chamber to store spare consumables.
* App. The app, once paired, is perfect for controlling the unit. Though, I have the Alexa skill configured and use it to initiate manual cleanings. Otherwise, the app schedule runs 5 days a week. The mapping capabilities are amazing, and the feedback feature allows me to help the robots learn about obstructions, new obstructions, temporary ones, etc. The robot and consumable status are also very helpful.
* Looks. The woven top panel, the materials of the base station, and overall design are pretty sexy for a robot vacuum. Definitely a differentiator as an appliance.
Cons:
* Mop. The mop bin unfortunately, is pretty small. I feel like it isn't practical enough for me to have on the main floor. I will likely leave it on the floor of my home featuring the carpeted surface.
* App. I did have trouble pairing the Roomba at first. I'm not sure why, but the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi config just wouldn't work properly the first time. Second time it worked just fine.
Use:
As I mentioned, I have another Roomba. Though it worked well, it wasn't great at picking up my Corgi's hair. In fact, it would weave yarn with his hair and leave them on the floor everywhere. This unit doesn't do that - it appears to clean the carpeted floors really well and vacuums it all up. I don't even have to enable the "continue cleaning regardless of sensor status." Previously, I had to enable the option because five minutes of run time and the vacuum would think it's bin was full. But it wasn't close. The other vacuum still works well, but it has now been reassigned to another floor.
I won't be using the mop bin, because it simply cannot clean the entire main space hardwood floors without several refills. The main floor is open concept and that is why it is so large.
I know the price point for Roombas can seem a bit higher than competing solutions. But I have nothing but praise for Roomba's latest offerings. If you're on the fence and need a multi-function unit to clean an average sized room, then this unit is for you.
I would recommend this to a friend!

DJI - Avata Pro-View Combo Drone with Motion Controller (Goggles 2 and RC Motion 2) - Gray
Summary: Full featured and amazingly nimble and compact drone.
Pros:
* Compact design. This full featured drone packs quite a bit into its compact frame.
* Quality. The frame, the googles, the controller - everything *feels* great.
* Design. The unit's design is top notch. The drone is svelte. The googles are sleek. The controller could look a little less generic, but it isn't so bad.
* Camera. The drone captures footage up to 4K. There are as many settings to control the camera as you would a DSLR it seems. Certainly, more than a mere phone camera. It will take a while for me to learn about all of the camera capabilities.
* USB-C. USB-C ^almost everywhere. This means no lugging around proprietary chargers. The batteries and components are straight forward to charge.
* Safety. There are safeguards for various potential issues. Powering up. Power levels. Distance. Landing. Even flight in restricted zones.
* Storage. The drone comes with 20GB of storage and a micro-SD slot. That means you can take your time purchasing memory while you learn how to fly the unit.
* Software. The software via the iOS app is pretty solid. The screens are thoughtfully lain out and the tutorials and documentation are surprisingly good.
* Controls. The handheld + google directional controls are AMAZING. It's like wearing an Oculus and flying around in-game, except this is real-life drone flight. If you've used an Oculus/ Quest, the handheld controller isn't too different, and the learning curve won't be as steep as steep. I prefer this controller type over the traditional RC type controllers.
* Spare Parts/ Accessories. The unit comes with a spare blade, some prescription lenses enclosures for use with the googles, and all of the necessary cables.
* Gimbal. The drone camera gimble is so delicate and responsive. This allows for very clear and very steady views from the unit. The shield/cover is a nice fit and protects the camera just fine.
Cons:
* Drone Ports. The port on the drone used to access the data USB-C and micro-SD slot is not in a great spot. It is a bit stressful trying to maneuver the port cover out of the way enough to insert a data USB-C cable. This is necessary because this model does not support wireless sync between the drone/googles and your phone. This wasn't too clear to me initially until a tutorial mentioned it is a model specific feature. If you leave the cover ajar or open, it will interfere with the blades, and you might panic. Be careful.
* Google Ports. The power port on the googles is a proprietary port. There is no on-board battery for the googles. So, you must carry the battery on you via a power tether cord. The cord has a USB-C connection on one end and a proprietary connector on the other. It seems this is a missed opportunity because there is already a USB-C port on the googles for the phone/pairing connection. Surely, they could have reused that somehow.
* Drone Battery. The drone battery fits snuggly and that's great. But dislodging it via the claps on each side can be unsettling given the effort required to remove it. It could be easier. I'm afraid I'm going to drop the drone or mishandle it sometimes.
* Pairing and Sync. The pairing process is pretty straight forward. However, either it has lost sync a few times in the middle of use. It's a bit disconcerting because I don't want it to crash for no reason. It basically complains that home was lost, and it could not determine location (of the operator/goggles). I have to connect the googles to my phone to resolve this issue.
* Calibration. I cannot calibrate the googles. You're supposed to leave the unit flat on a surface during the process, but it just never calibrates. As a result, I feel that the crashes I've experienced are a result of motion drift. The unit is responsive, sure, but sometimes I notice it turning on its own whether I am rotation my wrist or not.
The above two issues it seems that sometimes you have to update all hardware repeatedly from your computer. I'm going to try that next and then contact support if the issues persist. Given the generally positive experience and the quality of the tutorials and documentation I'm sure this is just a user error.
Use:
We've taken the drone out for a spin in our home, sure, but also on our fourth-floor deck, and in nearby parks. The operation in the home was the most telling. I was able to zoom around and complete to a complete halt in an instant! It scared my household members, but this unit is definitely a responsive and powerful little beast.
We have a detention center near enough for the drone to warn that there is a restricted flight zone in the area. We haven't and won't test the auto return home feature. LOL.
I should note that a few of my initial flight tests, though smooth, did result in crashes. Mainly against walls and into a closet. The drone's blades were well protected and there was no damage.
The camera quality is stunning. I have a 1080p drone and while that captures some amazing footage, you can't beat 4K. But this comes at a cost - battery and storage. Only minutes of 4K at the maximum frame rate can gobble up storage and drain your battery. Its best to know what you need to shoot, fly drone to location, and then adjust settings when you're ready to shoot.
If you have a somebody in your life (yourself included) that has been curious about getting a drone. This should be a serious contender. I have owned other (larger) drones that have the more traditional RC controller (coupled with phone as a HUD) and it is great, but the control methods and natural use of this unit is so much better and familiar. Imagine just turning your head around to dictate direction of the drone. Imagine seeing precisely what the drone sees. Then imagine a handheld controller that you only use to accelerate or decelerate, take-off, land, hover, or shift position laterally. That is what this does!
We can't wait to take it up into the mountains while hiking to explore the wilderness from above and maybe catch some wildlife up close!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does it need to be connect to waterline

No. Water is placed in the built-in reservoir or an attached side-tank. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue to have plumbed, but isn't marketed or designed for that.

 BISSELL - CrossWave Max Wet/Dry Cordless Multi-Surface Cleaner - Black/Pearl White
BISSELL - CrossWave Max Wet/Dry Cordless Multi-Surface Cleaner - Black/Pearl White
Clean hard floors and rugs with this BISSEL CrossWave Cordless Max multisurface wet/dry vacuum. The multisurface design vacuums and washes floors simultaneously, and the powerful battery offers up to 30 minutes of use per charge. This BISSEL CrossWave Cordless Max multisurface wet/dry vacuum includes a docking station that charges the battery and automatically cleans out dirt and debris.

Does this unit shampoo each time you vacuum? Or is there a mode you can select when you just want to vacuum and not get the carpet wet?

If you only want to perform a "dry pass," you can. Just don't hold the trigger. The trigger releases the cleaning solution.

I'd advise having a robot vacuum or another lighter vacuum to go over home first to capture bulk dry mess (daily). I use this strictly when I need to wash the floors and carpets (at least weekly).

How is this wet/dry vacumm with long dog hair? Does it get caught in that tiny filter or does it filter through to the dirty water ?. I have to vacumm balls of hair everyday.

If you plan on running this daily, then it probably wouldn't be a problem.

I have robot vacuums that run daily in the mornings. I use this only after they have run so that they capture the bulk of dry mass/ fur.

I have a corgi and his fur would very easily overwhelm any vacuum if it wasn't kept after daily. Also, the head on this mop might get clogged without a pre-vacuum.

do it have a fond so to speak to be able to get into corners and reach for ceiling molding cleaning?

If you're asking if there is an extension attachment that lets you clean ceilings, then no. There is not.

What is a AAAA battery? Is it replaceable?

Hi, AAAA is a super slim even smaller version of an AA or even an AAA battery. You don't find them as common in stores because they are pretty niche. You might be lucky to find them at your Best Buy.
