Difference between new and old

What is the difference between this one and the older one?

This set is sleeker, with a smaller footprint. It also pairs more quickly, and doesn't seem to succumb to the same problems with pairing that I encountered with the old set. Much improved.

Do you have to set this up with the router or just plug it in and it picks it up?

I don't have access to my router (comes free with rent for my building) and have a poor signal where I have to have my window open and sit right up next to it to get a signal since it is far away. Will this work to boost it or do you have to set it up with the router??

Having access to the router makes setup much easier, but can boost a signal if you just set the booster up on its own. You will need the password from the router though. Good luck!
