What's great about it: HDMI out
I bought this for music CDs for a receiver I only use for music. The HDMI out allows the receiver's higher quality digital to analog converter do the conversion.
This product has... Easy to use controls

What's great about it: Resolution and speed
What's not so great: Lack of expandable memory
Display on the iPad is wonderful and spoils you compared to most other electronic devices. Large screen size is great especially for streaming video. Large number of apps available makes this logical choice for those who do not need to use Microsoft Office applications.
Setup was easy, particularly connecting to the home network.
This product is... easy to set up, lightning fast, Variety of apps available, Sharp graphics, Easy to navigate, Great screen size
About me... Basic web surfing & emails, retired, Comfortable with technology

Display media from your Apple device on an HDTV or other HDMI-compatible screen using this Apple® MD826ZM/A Lightning digital A/V adapter, which features video mirroring capability for enjoying content in up to 1080p resolution.

I have the IPhone 8, do I need an additional attachment to connect the AUX cable that goes to the speaker when using a projector? I want to be able to connect my phone to the projector and speaker when have movie night outdoors.

If your projector accepts an HDMI input that will transmit both video and audio.

 Audio-Technica - Stereo Turntable - Black
Audio-Technica - Stereo Turntable - Black
Pull out classic vinyl albums to play on this Audio-Technica stereo turntable. It includes output adapter cables to connect to a computer, speakers or home stereo and a phono cartridge with diamond stylus to play analog music. This Audio-Technica stereo turntable comes with an adapter to play 45 rpm records.

This will be my first record player & I'm pretty clueless. I have no idea what speakers to get. I can't spend a fortune on them right now either. Which brands or models do you recommend. This will be sitting on a dresser in my bedroom. Thanks.

While it ;is usually said that the system is no better than its lowest quality part, you will get a bigger difference in sound based on speakers selected than anything else in the system. Yes you need a decent amp and sound source, but the speakers make a big difference in how things sound. While I do have some brand preference I will not pass that on not knowing if anything they make would be within your budget.

I will however suggest what to do to select a speaker,. Take a CD with you of music you like and are familiar with. Listen to it on high end equipment and speakers. Try a few different ones to get the sound you think is appropriate. Then audition equipment and speakers within your price range. Get as close to the high end as you can within your budget. Musical sound is very subjective and the ideal varies considerably depending on what type of music you listen to,.

Bottom line is I would suggest spending more than you want to on the speakers. They last way longer than anything else in the sound system. If you are concerned about quality of sound as opposed to just noise, it is an investment worthwhile making.

WD - My Book 4TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black
WD - My Book 4TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black
Maximize your system's storage capacity with this Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive. Quick transfer rates move information three times faster than traditional hard drives. The My Book has universal connections to ensure compatibility with 3.0 and 2.0 USB devices. The drive also offers built-in 256-bit hardware encryption and optional password protection for peace of mind.

Why don't you "always" have compatibility listed with other product information (like specifications). I recently cancelled an order for a WD My Book 4tb right after making the order, because I realized I needed to check compatibility with windows Vista.

There are some basic compatibility issues that I do not think need to be stated. 32 bit operating systems and specifically Vista will only access a maximum of a 2 Tb drive. It is not just this drive specific. There would be a compatibility issue with any 4 Tb drive. If you need 4 Tb of total storage your best solution (other than replacing the computer so you would have an operating system that will continue to be supported) would be two 2 Tb external drives. While that would cause the need for files to be split up, it would not cost much more. It would cost less than replacing the computer.

Will this play .avi files?

AVI files should be converted to a DVD using a video authoring application to play on most DVD players. A search for video authoring software at either the Best Buy web site or with a general internet search will provide a number of choices for that type of software.

Does this player play MP4?

Supported formats and discs are:

Video CD : Yes (PBC)
SVCD : Yes (PBC)
CD (CD-DA) : Yes
DVD-Video : Yes
LPCM Playback : Yes (DVD/CD)
WMA Playback : Yes (DVD/CD)
MPEG1 Playback : Yes (DVD/CD)
JPEG Playback : Yes(DVD/CD)
MP3 Playback : Yes(DVD/CD)
DVD text : Yes
KODAK Picture CD : Yes
DVD Camcorder 8cm DVD : Yes (DVD-R/-RW/DVD+R DL/+RW)
DVD+RW : Yes
DVD+R : Yes
DVD-RW : Yes (Video/VR)
DVD+R Double Layer : Yes
DVD-R Dual Layer : Yes (Video/VR)
DVD-R : Yes (Video/VR)
CD text : Yes

MP4, I believe us usually high def and would normally need to be played on an appropriately formatted disc capable of that. I believe that would have to happen on a Blu-Ray player. While this has up-conversion and a HDMI output, that is intended for DVDs and file formats above.
