What's great about it: Price, Design, Quiet, Quick, Small, Asus
What's not so great: Keyboard & Mouse
Looking for a mid-range computer at a decent price? Look no further! This computer has done everything I've needed it to do since the day I opened up the box. I regularly do coding in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, Java, C, C++, Python etc... an the multi-tasking of this computer is excellent for the price.
If you plan on gaming on this computer I can tell you this. Most games that you probably want to play like Battlefield 4, Call of Duty, etc... are not going to play very well on this machine. Now if you are wanting to play games like Sims 3, SimCity 4, SimCity 2013, Roller Coaster Tycoon, an internet games or similar to any of those it will perform amazingly. Of course you can always add a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit# as it has 2 PCIe x16 slots one with 16 lanes and 1 with 4 lanes. #If you know what I'm talking about# I plan on putting in an AMD P9 270 an than it will rock most every game I throw at it with decent settings.
It does have the A-10 6700 Radeon HD 8670D APU #Accelerated Processing Unit# in place of your standard CPU #Central Processing Unit) but as great as the machine has performed for me I would say APU's are going to soon be the new standard as far as everyday computing or anything aside from gaming. I can sit here an code, have iheart radio playing, have several webpages open, an still have plenty of power to do more. Don't listen to what others have told you, this machine performs very well in the multi-tasking department long as you aren't running any very high-end software programs with intensive graphic interfaces you will never miss a beat with this machine.
So definitely if you are in these reviews seeing what others have said, you can take my word that this machine has everything you need in a computer on a budget. Though do keep in mind you will need a monitor but it has HDMI out on the back. So if you have an HDTV take this bad boy home plug it up an turn it on, than you're good to go.
Now, on to the mouse an keyboard. They are not bad, I only mentioned them because the wires seem to tangle easily. The actual software an hardware part of the devices are perfect. It's just the quality of the coating on the wires going to your machine from them. I've used them almost constantly since I got this computer an they still have kinks in them from when I first took the bread ties off. Though for most of you that will not be an issue. I just wanted to point that out though.
9/10 stars very decent machine for the price you won't be disappointed.

compatibility of blueray player
can this computer run an external BlueRay player player for watching movies?
Yes, but it doesn't have a blue-ray player installed as an Optical drive. I'm sure you already know that though.

Is there room in the case to install a wireless network modem card?
There is already a Wireless network card installed upon purchase of this machine. So, yes there is room but it already has one so no need to purchase or install one that you already have.

Is there room for other hardware in the case?
It has room yes, not much though.
FM2A55-M/CMS Motherboard if you want to look that up. Here are a few minor details that I'll give you for a quick answer.
2xPCIe x16 slots (16 lanes on 1 and 4 on the others)
1 Fan pin connector on the motherboard an a space for fan installation on the back. Very nice looking inside I might add but nothing out of the ordinary. Has room for a few things. Not a computer you would want to throw too much into as it would get too hot.

what processer does this computer have?
I need to know because I need a quad-core or better.

So yes, it has 4 cores each running at maximum of 3.7ghz.
I should note that the APU in this specific model isn't capable of being manually over-clocked. There is an option with a few settings that let you set it to pre-defined over-clocked settings. Though, they are nothing like if you were able to do it yourself. Very safe though so its all good.

Dual Monitors
Will this computer support dual monitors with the purchase of a dvi splitter cable?
It does support dual-monitors, actually up to 4 monitors to be precise. Though I'd recommend adding a GPU if you intend on using it that intensely. Far as DVI, it does have a DVI out port so I'm assuming you can use a splitter for the multiple monitors. Not 100% sure though. It also has an HDMI out port if you'd rather go that route..

Is it a backlight keyboard?
It's hard to read the printing on they keyboard, almost like it should be backlit. It isn't obvious if it does.
No the keyboard that comes with this machine isn't back-lit. I have to agree with you there, the keys are hard to read in dim light. This wouldn't be the keyboard you'd want to use in complete darkness. Though, you shouldn't be using a computer in complete darkness either. It's terrible on your eyes. Hope this answers your question. I own this computer.

can this computer run DayZ ?
i want to know because that is the game im planing on geting for it .
I've never played that particular game but there are several videos of people with this computer on youtube playing battlefield 4 mind you they are on pretty low settings an running low FRAPS (Frames Per Second). I've been told that this computer can't play DayZ but those are just speculations. My best guess is that it probably can on the lowest possible settings. Though even if a computer can run a game with intensive graphics at lowest settings it's not best to do so. It adds extra wear on your machine. Think of it as a car that can only go up to 80. Sure you can go down the interstate up to 80 mph but if you do it for several hours, chances are your car will blow up.
So my suggestion is that this computer is well worth the money an can play most average games on highest settings no problem (eg. Sims 3 type games) but you could easily save up $100-$200 an drop in a nice top of the line graphics card an play any game you want.
So its up to you. I own this particular machine an its great for the money. The hardware inside is nearly worth more than what you pay for it. The APU alone is $150.00 & the motherboard is right at $120.00. That alone is over half what you pay. Consider you are getting an Operating system worth over a $100 an the Ram is around $60. Add in the fact that you are also getting a wireless networking card pre-installed an that they did the labor putting it together an you will see its a great machine for the price an with a few extra dollars you can be in the mid-high range of computer gaming without breaking the bank.

What power supply and graphics card will be the best for my money
If you are looking to game than here is my suggestion. Go get a AMD Radeon R270 and a PSU (Power Supply Unit) with a wattage of around 500-600. I'm about to do this myself I just haven't gotten around to it. I know a lot about computers as I do coding for software an programs an I am also capable of building computers from the ground up.
Only thing is the AMD Radeon R9 270 may or may not fit within your Chassis (Computer Case) as I haven't purchased it yet to find out for sure. Judging by the size dimensions it seems that it will most likely work.
Another thing is if you are installing a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) on this machine you will need to make sure you have a solution to heat dissipation. The form factor (size relative to motherboard) of this case is a Micro-ATX (1 up from the smallest available) so there is going to be very little room within the case once you add a GPU & PSU inside. Therefore I suggest finding a good fan of the right size to install on the backplate (the vent below the PSU vent) to help with any heat problems. When a computer gets too hot inside it can ruin your CPU. Luckily there are programs installed on this computer (from asus) that allow you to check the internal heat an everything.
Anything else you would like to know?
