can I get in store pc set-up, data transfer, etc if I buy online instead of in-store? what about if I buy from someone else altogether?

DO I NEED A SPECIAL SETTING TO USE AN EXTERNAL DVD?

Use of an external HDD, powered separately with the Micro USB via OTG cable?

Can I use the Micro USB port as a normal 2.0 usb port with a OTG cable, specifically can this work for a self powered HDD connected via 2.0?

Yes it will work if your Micro USB port has a FULL USB 2.0 capability. If it works you will have 480 Mbps data transfer speed and backwards compatibility. You might as well use a OTG cable with 2.0 USB capability.
