Researched this model, purchased and connected. Set up was very easy. Entered Wi-Fi password and it connected to my home network easily. Next, clicked on Netflix, entered information and connected with no problem. Played an action Blu Ray, and the picture on my Pioneer Plasma was stunning. Truly a very good Blu Ray player with good features and an especially good deal buying on sale.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The case is one piece, fits my iPhone 6 perfectly. I have no trouble with volume buttons, on-off, or plugging in to charge. It is a 1 piece product though I would prefer a 2 piece unit instead. It is not bulky and does what it is supposed to do.

What's great about it: Powerful mid range
What's not so great: drab cabinet appearance
Wow, what an amazing center channel. I matched this to my B & W 684 towers since I watch a lot of blu ray dvds, and it delivers an outstanding clarity even at low volumes. But it really is striking when listening to action scenes. It is not drowned out by the action explosions, yet still gives great clarity to voice. Very happy I chose this speaker.

What we found so great was the lumbar support these chairs offer. The lever to open is so easy to use. They tilt back very easily. Setting up was a breeze. Must say these chairs are for sure worth the money. We had to call the mfr and ask for both chairs to have two arms each, and they agreed and the chairs were delivered as promised with two arms each.

What's great about it: Sound clarity and bass
What's not so great: Cabinet style too bland
What I wanted in a speaker was great mid range clarity and good bass, and the 684 gives both. The dual kevlar cones make the sound awesome. I connected to a Pioneer Elite (110w) and bought AudioQuest Rocket 33 bi-wire cables, and they truly make these speakers come alive. I have a large room and they fill the room without having to turn super loud. Make sure you do the speaker balancing and you won't be disappointed.

Samsung: 2,100m/~6,900ft
Panasonic: 2,200m/~7,200ft (VT, GT, ST, UT, U series), 2,600m/8,500ft (XT and X series)
(Note: For Panasonic this is 2012 data, 2013 info wasn't available. LG and Samsung's is the same for both.)
So what does this mean? Well, Denver is around 5,400 feet, so that's fine. Santa Fe is 7,200, right on the cusp for Panasonic and Samsung, but fine for LG. People in places like Breckenridge (9,600ft), La Paz (11,942ft), or La Ronconada, Peru (16,728ft), might need to consider LCDs. If you're planning on hiking Everest, leave your plasma at home. I live near Tampa and have 2 plasmas with zero problems.

Do you repair Plasma tv's?
I am not a repair tech, but depending on how old and how big your Plasma is could determine whether it is worth fixing. Price shop Panasonic for 50" or bigger for the best Plasma pictures. The ST series is modestly priced and gets rave reviews. It is not their top of the line, just a great value.

A quality hdmi version 1.3 should suffice. If you have truly high end audio gear (receiver, speakers) you just might want to be sure you get an HDMI with higher quality build quality (I use Audioquest myself), but otherwise a modest priced cable will work fine. I spent a lot on my sound system so I purchased high end HDMI, but not everyone wishes to be so determined to get the absolute best sound and picture. Not a must.

You have to answer what you want to do with internet access? Do you want full Web Access? Or, do you want to access Neflix, You tube, Pandora? There is a difference between a smart tv with those above access places included, or one which actually has a web browser. A 10 yo Tv for sure does not have internet connections built in. When you know which features I listed above are what you want, then when you shop you can ask for models that have that feature. You would also want to be sure you have an "N" wireless router to transmit to your new TV.

whats the difference between samsung model 6420 and 6900?
As far as i can tell the LED, 120Hz, 3d, 1080p, and HDTV are the same on both, why is the UN55D6900 $350 more than the UN55D6420U when they are both 55" Tv's? Also a few days ago i was in a store and they had samsung 55" LED, 3D Tv's that were 240Hz and cant find them on this website?
Inside most BB stores they have Samsung Model Listing charts which show the feature differences. Some models are only in Magnolia, and some may no longer be offered on the website. Your best bet is to look at features you desire on the chart, and then view the models that have those features to see if the picture quality and price suit your needs. Don't be swayed soley by 120hz/240 hz because according to CNET reviews, hardly anyone can really see the difference. Picture quality is what looks best to you. Are you a gamer? Do you watch sports alot, or movies at night? These are questions to help you choose the tv which will satisfy your needs the best. Don't buy "specs" only, look at picture quality.

wireless sound system replacement....
...for Panasonic SB-FX85 (now SH-FX85), which has always been troublesome and has now stopped working altogether. The sound was never that great anyway (although the Panasonic Home Theater system that I used it with has great sound) so I would like to replace it with higher sound quality. The purpose is to get sound from the home theater system wirelessly in other rooms...Thanks for any help!
Lisa, it sounds like you need to visit a Best Buy with a Magnolia Home Theater and have them demo the Sonos Wireless music systems they have. Might be just what you need.

3D TV Demos
Does Best Buy show ESPN 3D channel 106 football games as part of their in store 3D demos.
Some Magnolia Home Theaters do have Direct TV hooked up, so if they have the proper program license then it is possible you could ask them to turn on that channel and give you the 3D glasses to view a game live if it is available.

Will the Sony-SmartWi-Fi built-I Blu-ray player work on older t.v.?
My t.v. has the jacks in the back for the red,white an yellow cable. Will the Sony hook up to this?
Sadly your inputs are called composite and will not transmit a blu ray signal. A Blu Ray can send up to a 1080P signal to a TV, while yellow which is analog video cannot, and the red/white are your left right audio connections. If your tv has red/blu/green for video and red/white for audio you can connect, but nowadays most blu ray players only have HDMI. So your next tv will have the proper connections. If you have an older audio/video receiver it perhaps still has composite (yellow,red,white) outputs but would need either HDMI from your Blu Ray or component audio/video connections. The connections vary from Blu Ray to blu ray. Older Blu Rays have more, newer mostly only have HDMI single digital connection to either receiver or TV. Best bet, new tv.
