The Proteus 3 in 1 Joy-Con grip is not what I was expecting.
Let me start by saying that the grip does do as described, it’s the design that killed it for me. The Proteus lets you use it as a Switch console grip, a mobile phone grip, or a controller grip for the Joy-Cons. The Proteus comes in 3 pieces, the left and right grip and a center piece. When using it in Switch mode the center piece detaches. The left grip has a magnetic detachable plate that lets you slide a phone cord through to be able to charge while playing.
The Switch grip:
In this mode you only use the left and right grips. You start by sliding the Joy-cons inside the grips, then you slide the grips over your Switch. The problem I have, is the grips are not comfortable at all. There are way too bulky, making it hard to play. It would have been much more functional just making this into a single piece shell that goes over the whole Switch and Joy-Cons.

This is probably the most useless of all the features. The proteus lets you attach a center piece that extends and acts as a support bar for the phone, while you use the Joy-Cons to connect to the phone through Bluetooth. The problem is the same as listed above, only it’s more awkward to hold. I used an iPhone 12 max pro, the phone fits, but the grips are just too bulky to be comfortable. If you decide to not use the Joy-Cons, the grips are so bulky that it’s hard to reach your touch screen.

This is good if you have larger hands and find the stock controller case too small. I personally use the Pro controller when the Switch is docked, so I don’t really have much use for it.

Overall, I didn’t really find much use out the Proteus grip. Its way too bulky to use for the switch, making it hard to reach the buttons properly. The phone grip works, but again too bulky. The controller grip is the only thing I did find to be comfortable, but I don’t use it so it’s pointless for me. So, sadly I would have to pass on the Proteus Grip.

The Steelseries Alias streaming mic is an outstanding microphone that has some incredible features.
The microphone comes with a heavy-duty brushed metal stand, and long USB-C cable for plug and play and a boom arm adapter. Setting up the Alias is simple, just plug in the mic with the included usb-c cable, then download the Sonar software and from there you’re ready to go. The Alias does have physical volume knobs and a mute button on the mic itself. I love how there are LEDs on the front of the mic that emit a red X to let you know that you have it on mute. The back of the mic is where the gain knob is, and I wish they would have just put it on the front with the other knob. The stand is adjustable, but for some reason no matter how tight I have it, the mic will slide forward at the slightest touch (i.e., adjusting the gain knob).
The Mic has some really great features that make this stand out from other mics. For starters, the audio quality is outstanding. To test this out, I used a simple voice recording software and was able to hear the difference between this mic and some other ones I had laying around. The Clearcast AI noise cancelation works amazing, I had my kids yelling in the next room and it was able to eliminate the background noise. With the aux port on the bottom of the mic, you can plug in headphones for audio and still use the mic. Just for fun, I wanted to see if this will work with my MacBook pro, and to my surprise it did. I didn’t bother downloading the Sonar software with it, but all the main features worked great...For example, the mute button works, the red X LEDs still shined, the volume knobs worked and compared to the built-in mic the Alias sounds 10 times better.
Overall, I love the sound quality if the Alias. It really sounds like I’m using a professional microphone when capturing audio. The Sonar software offers some great features to that let you take full advantage of the Alias, my favorite being the AI noise canceling. The fact that it works with Mac is a huge bonus, as I can us this for recording voice overs in Final Cut pro. Although, if could change one thing about this mic, it would be the placement of the gain knob. It’s just placed in an awkward spot that’s hard to reach, and when I have to adjust it, I end up messing up the position of the mic. That being said, I don’t know if it’s just mine or if they are all like that, but the mic doesn’t lock into place very well. Either way, I am happy with the Alias, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great quality mic.

The Scuf Envision Pro wireless controller offers more buttons and customization options than anything I’ve seen on the market. Yet, there is room for improvement.
The Scuf controller looks like a PS5 controller at first glance, but once I was able to get my hands on it, I found that it does offer a unique design. The box includes the controller, a wireless dongle, a USB-C charging cable, 2 different joysticks, and some interchangeable blank back buttons. The controller is made up of 3 primary materials; plastic, rubber and a TPU plastic which is the removable front faceplate. The joysticks are made of a tough rubber that feels like hard plastic, which they didn’t offer my thumbs enough grip. The triggers are shaped nice and have a lock button on the back of each trigger. Then there are 4 buttons on the back of the controller, only 2 of which I found to be comfortable and easy to access. There are 2 side bumpers that are located off to the side of the L and R bumpers, neither of which I found necessary.
On the first time using the controller, you have to download the iCue software in order to customize the buttons and update the controller. I have iCue installed previously for some LED lights and I’m not a huge fan of the software. I came across many issues when trying to set up the Scuf and configure it, for instance my custom setup wasn’t saving, my saved profile would conflict with my new setup, buttons would randomly stop working. After resetting my computer a few times, this seemed to fix the issue.
As far as functionality of the controller, it feels great in my hands. I do think they went a little overboard with the number of extra buttons they added, but at least they give you options. The thing I don’t really care for on the controller are the joysticks…I find that they don’t offer enough grip and my thumbs slip. The 5 customizable buttons on the bottom of the controller are nice, as I set them as media buttons and can control my vol right from my controller. The back buttons would be better if they made them into adjustable paddles for easier reach, as of now I only use 2 of them. The D-pad is spot on and is probably one of the best one I’ve used. It is nice that they made a wireless version of the controller, and it works just as good as wired.
Overall, I like the Scuf Envision Pro. I think it’s a comfortable controller to game with and offers more than enough buttons to customize. The battery life is great, it lasts longer than any other wireless controller that I’ve ever had. Although, I do wish they used better joysticks, as they are too slippery for me. And the back buttons could have been designed better, paddles would have been a better option…But I would recommend this to gamers that are looking for more customization options.

I was really excited to try out the Snaptain E20 foldable drone as it has some pretty cool features, sadly it did not perform as expected.
The drone comes with a nice quality carrying case, a remote control, two batteries, a USB cable, some spare blades and blade protectors. The blade protectors aren't like the typical blade protectors that go over the entire blade, these protectors act more like bumpers on each of the arms and they extend out pretty far. I was tempted to leave them off, but my gut was telling me to listen to the instructions and leave them on…I’m glad I did.
In order to be able to fly the drone, you need to download the Snaptain FPV app. The app actually looks nice and is easy to navigate, there is also a video on how to set up the drone and fly it for the first time. The app is how you get a FPV of your drone when flying.
After charging up the batteries, and the controller, I was able to take my first test flight. This was right about the time I realized why they made the blade protectors stick out so far. As far as precision control, there is none. To land the drone, you point the left joystick down, the same control used to lower and raise the drone in mid-flight, so there were many times my drone would land when I just wanted it to lower it a little bit. The drone moves with the slightest gust of wind making it hard to control and when I tried to hover it, it would constantly sway to the left. Then there’s the connection issues I was having with the drone and my iPhone, making the drone fall straight down immediately, so I wasn’t able to fly it very high. I was excited to use the 3D flip button, only to be disappointed because the button didn’t work at all. After about 14 minutes of the drone smacking into the fence, the battery died. The footage that I was able to capture, was kind of grainy, and not that steady.
Overall, I was not impressed at all with the Snaptain E20 drone. For an entry level drone, it barely succeeds at that. The controls are mediocre at best, there is no stabilization, so it flies all over the place. There were many times that the drone would lose connection to my phone in mid-flight and fall flat to the ground. The 2 batteries that come in the box have to be charged one at time, and only last about 15min and with no charging dock. So, if you’re out in a field, you better have a battery bank and plenty of spare time. With all that said, sadly I would not recommend the Snaptain E20 drone to anyone.

The Insignia USB-C braided cable is just what I was looking for. The cable is very durable, unlike most USB-C cables, this one is braided making for better durability and is extra long for better reach. On both if the ends where the connectors are, it is well secured with both rubber and aluminum so that the cable doesn’t start to break off or split at the ends.
The cable is extra long, measuring at 10 feet this gives me plenty off length to be able to plug in my iPad and be able to use it at the same time. The cable is compatible with 60w chargers, making it fast charge capable. The cable also offers transfer speeds up to 480mbps for quick file transfers. I tested the fast charging capability and, I can confirm it does work very well.
Overall, I love the Insignia USB-C 10’ cable. I finally have a cable thats long enough to reach the wall outlet. The build quality is amazing, its definitely built to last a long time. And with fast charging capability, as well as 480mbps transfer speeds, this is my go to USB-C cable.

The Litra Beam LX is a powerful streaming light with plenty of options.
Inside the box includes the light, a stand, USB-C cable, and a power cord. The light can be connected by 2 ways, either Bluetooth or USB-C. There is also manual controls on the light itself, in case you don’t want to connect it to your computer. The stand is very well made and is able to extend the light pretty far up. There are 2 options for connecting the light to the stand, so that it can bend and rotate to your liking.
The Litra Beam has lights on both sides of it, and they can be used at the same time or independently. On one side, there is the white light that has many different shades of white. One the other side is the color LEDs, that can be set to a rotating pattern or static. The brightness level of both sides gets really bright and it’s nice that there is a brightness button on the main light itself. You can also change the color on the unit too.
When I went to connect the light for the first time to my computer, I needed to download the Logitech software, as well as some new firmware. The software does give you controls over the lights and light patterns, but other than the firmware update, the software doesn’t do anything that you can’t already control manually.
Overall, I like the Litra Beam LX. I think this is a great quality streaming light, with plenty of options. It offers plenty of different tones of white, as well as great brightness controls. I love how you have 2 options to connect it to the stand for better light placement. The color LEDs on the other side look great, there is no light bleed on the light bar and the color are perfectly distinguishable. This makes for a great streaming light and a mood light all at the same time.

The Shark Detect Pro is a great cordless vacuum that offers some excellent features.
The vacuum is very simple to set up, it has the handle which houses the battery and the dust bin. The Vacuum has 3 modes to choose from: Eco mode – this saves the most energy, Auto mode – this uses power according to the amount of dirt, and lastly there’s Boost mode – this operates at the max power constantly. At the top of the handle, there is useful LED light bar that displays a certain color depending how much dirt there is.
The brush is a self-cleaning brush that also has some other handy features…There is a built-in LED light strip in the front, which auto illuminates when its dark, so you can see the floor in front of you. There is also edge detect, this is where the vacuum can detect when you’re vacuuming the edge of a wall and lights up only one side of the brush. The brush also has floor detect; this means that the vacuuming can easily detect when you’re switching from different floor types.
I’ve been using the vacuum for about a week now, and I really love it. The floor detect is one of the vacuum’s best features, it does such a good job transitioning from tile to carpet. It’s amazing how it automatically increases the suction power the second it enters the carpet. The LED lights on the front of the brush is very convenient for being able to see where you’re vacuuming in dark lit areas. The power of the vacuum is incredible, especially when it’s on boost mode. The edge detect works well for the most part, although there were times that it didn’t work but it’s not a deal breaker.
Overall, I love this vacuum, it makes cleaning my house incredibly easy. It’s very comfortable to hold and its fairly light, yet it is incredibly powerful and has some amazing features. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The JBL Authentics 300 is a beautifully designed speaker, that both looks and feels premium.
The JBL 300 has an elegant looking gold metal handle that’s wrapped in black pleather. The leather-like material is also wrapped around all sides of the speaker. The front of the speaker has the same gold colored metal around the grill. On top of the speaker there are 3 different knobs for manually controlling the volume, bass and treble. There is also a favorites button and a play button that can act as a multi function button depending the number pushes. The back of the speaker has an ethernet port, an AUX port and a USB-C port. There is also a switch that lets you turn off the voice activated features.
The JBL 300 is a smart speaker that connects to the internet either wirelessly, or with an ethernet cable. There is also built in bluetooth in case you’re at a place with no internet. The speaker does have Chromecast built-in, Alexa and is Airplay compatible. It comes with a standard power cord which is used to charge the speaker. it takes about 2.5hrs to fully charge the speaker, and the battery will last about 8hrs on a full charge, that is depending on how you’re using the speaker.
The speaker is set up by using the free JBL One app. The app is where you connect it to the internet, set certain options, enable google, alexa and connect other music streaming services. You can also set up custom equalizers for your own listening experience. The app is very easy to use and has just enough features that it doesn’t overload you with information.
The first time I turned it on and listened to the JBL 300, it sounded great. The speaker offered exceptional bass quality and there was a good difference between highs and lows. I brought the speaker into another room and noticed that is sounded a little muddy. After a few minutes the sound quality started to improve, this was due to the speakers’ self tuning feature that automatically activates every time you turn it on. It’s designed to optimize and calibrate the sound depending on your listening environment. This is great concept, but I don’t like that it does this every time you turn it on. It would be much better if they gave you the option to push a button to active the calibration. I tried testing this out in many different rooms and open areas to see how well it works, but I was never able to get consistent results.
Overall, I really like the JBL 300. The design is very elegant and the build quality is superb. The ability to connect the speaker to both WiFi and bluetooth is incredible. The sound quality is decent, it offers rich deep bass and very clear vocals…That is if the calibration software works properly. The self tuning feature is both very innovative and irritating, especially when you don’t get the optimal sound you’re expecting. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn this feature off at the moment. I don’t want to have to worry about achieving the sound level that I want every time I turn it on, I just want to turn on the speaker and enjoy the music. Aside from that, this is a quality speaker and I would recommend it.

The Technics SA-C600 Network CD receiver has a ton of features, but it seems to be missing something…
The C600 is more than just an expensive CD player, it’s also a receiver that offers discrete power amplification, a network streaming player including built-in Chromecast as well as Airplay 2. I was a little shocked that this doesn’t offer USB-C input, but it does take USB-B. The Build quality is decent, you can open the CD door by sliding it in a circle. This is nice because you don’t have to worry about a motor breaking. There is also a phono input for connecting a turn table.
The C600 connects to your network, but only by Airplay or Chromecast. The front of the player has a display with touch controls, but the included remote is way more convenient. I was a little disappointed to find out that the player doesn’t allow you to connect Bluetooth headsets, although it does allow you to connect a Bluetooth music player…
As far as the performance goes for the C600, I tried a few different sources to see how well it delivers. I tried out the CD player first, and needless to say, it sounded great especially after using Space Tune. This is feature that’s activated through the Technics Audio Center app, where it uses your phone’s speaker to measure your room and measure the correct sound waves. I used a pair of Martin Logan Motion 15 and a Dynamo sub as my speaker set up. The C600 provides 60w per channel, with a total of 2 channels. I’m a little disappointed with the power output, as I think it should have been able to push out more, but it does sound good. Next, I connected my turntable to the phono input to see how well the built-in phone equalizer performs, I was really impressed with this. My vinyl sounded incredible. The C600 seemed to have amplified my listening experience with vinyl in a major way.
Overall, there are many aspects of the C600 that I thoroughly enjoy. Such as, the build quality is great, the rotating CD tray makes it easy to fit snug in a shelf, the ability to stream with music apps via Airplay and Chromecast, not to mention the superb phono equalizer which makes my vinyl sound amazing. But I definitely think there’s room for improvement, one of the biggest things would be increasing the wattage channel, it definitely feels lacking in that area. Another thing would be to add the ability to connect BT headphones to listen to music. I think if it had those features, then it would really set this unit apart from everything else.

The Technics A800 noise canceling headphones are some good sounding headphones with a few drawbacks.
The headphones come packed with a USB-C cable, a nice pleather carrying case, and an airplane adaptor. The headphones themselves are kind of bulky, but that doesn’t mean they’re uncomfortable to wear. They are indeed comfy to wear, especially in long listening sessions. This is due to the soft cushiony leather ear pads and the head strap that offers the same material. They do feel heavy when you first put them on, but I got used to them fairly quickly.
The headphones offer a USB-C input for charging and a headphone input for wired use. There are 4 physical buttons on the right ear, other than the power button, the other 3 I found to be very inconvenient…The Vol up and down buttons and the play button are all cramped together very tightly, this makes it hard to push the right button. Luckily, I was able to use my phone to control those options.
The biggest aspect of the A800’s, is that they pack some serious sound. The 40mm drivers offer some deep and smooth bass, while easily being able to hear all the details in the vocals and music. The headphones offer a good range of highs and lows. Everything that I listened to, from music to movies - sounded incredible. They also have a sensor that detects when you take them off, and it automatically stops the playback.
The A800 does offer noise cancelling features, as well as transparent mode and attention mode. I wasn’t really impressed with the noise canceling feature on these headphones, even with tweaking the settings, I was still able to hear a lot of external noises. But, when I had my music playing, it was able to block out mid to low volumes. Transparent mode or attention mode sounded weird to me, so I didn’t use it that much.
Overall, I like the A800 headphones, they have amazing sound quality and build quality. The noise canceling could use some improvement, as I’ve had better NC in cheaper headphones. The headphones are a bit heavy at first, but they are very comfortable to wear for long periods. I enjoy listening to these and I would recommend them.

Does the Logitech - Combo Touch iPad Pro 11" (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation) Keyboard Case, Backlit Keyboard, Trackpad - Oxford Gray work on the iPad Air 4th generation? I know they can use the same Apple Magic keyboard.
I don’t believe it will. The dimensions of the iPads are different, I believe the air is a little bit smaller than the Pro.

I recently purchased this monitor from my local Bestbuy, and I cannot get audio through it. Does this monitor have built-in speakers? I am unable to find information online regarding whether this monitor has integrated speakers.
No, there are no built in speakers, but there is a headphone jack built in. You can use the headphone jack to plug your speakers into it.

The usb dock on my current printer only allows me to view/print jpeg and tiff files. Does this printer allow for pdf files to be printed from the usb dock?
There isn't a USB dock on this printer. The USB port is for a printer cable only. You can send PDF files to the printer wirelessly to print from the HP Smart software though.
