Hi, I believe you are referring to the size of the plug, which is a 3.5mm (1/8") stereo plug.

Can these be used with an Insigna 22" TV

I am looking for some lightweight, comfortable ear phones for my TV in the kitchen. The room is an open floor plan so the Big TV is is in the same room with my small TV. As I don't like the shows that my husband likes, while I am cooking I would like to listen to the programs I like. Any suggestions?

These headphones will work with any device that has a standard 1/8" stereo mini plug jack. Do keep in mind, they only have about a 4 foot cord. So, you would likely need an extension. A better choice might be a set of RF wireless headphones, such as our HA-W600RF. These are larger, but there is no cord at all. They do still need the same 1/8" stereo mini plug jack to connect the base station.

Can you skip songs using the mic remote?

Yes. A double tap will skip the song. A triple tap will go back to the beginning of the song and repeat it.

This model does not have a microphone. The JVC sport clip with a microphone is the model HA-EBR80.

This headphone has a standard 1/8 inch stereo headphone jack and will work with any device that uses that plug. If you try any other standard headphones, such as the ones that might have come with a phone or tablet that you have--and they work--then these will work too. Thanks for asking.

Motorola phones are finicky when it comes to earbud microphone compatibility. Anyone know if the mic works with the Moto E 2nd gen (2015) phone?

are headphones for one volume /can i still listen to tv too?

Yes, in fact--I have a pair which is used the exact same way. But there is something you need to look for on your TV: Your TV needs to have a fixed audio output. That means, a pair of RCA connectors (generally white and red) that output sound no matter what the actual volume level on the TV is set at. If you have a TV like this, you can set the TV to a level that is comfortable to you, and you can connect the headphones which have their own independent volume control. If your TV does not have this kind of a fixed audio output, you may be able to find it on a cable or satellite box, or even an old VCR that is connected to the TV, and you may be able to make the headphones work that way.
