Thank you for your question. This unit is a free-standing unit, and should not be built into any cabinet or counter. The unit needs at least 5 inches of space on all sides to ensure the unit has proper ventilation.

Thank you for your question. The DCR044A2BSLDD is not self-defrosting. When the frost on the inside reaches approximately 0.25 inches you will then push the red button located in the center of the thermostat dial.

Thank you for your question. The DUFM085A4WDD-3 freezer door hinge is on the right hand side so it opens from left to right. Please note that the door is reversible.

The freezer is over 25" deep but the shelves are only 13" deep? Does that mean the back of the unit includes 12" of unusable space?

The DUFM085A4WDD-3 freezer unit dimension are 23 15/16 inches wide by 59 1/16 inches high by 25 11/15 inches deep. The interior dimensions are 17 1/2 inches wide by 50 5/8 inches high by 18 7/8 inches deep. Please note that some of the depth is taken up by the shelves in the door.
