When used as a monitor for a PC, will this TV automatically wake and go to sleep like a regular monitor?

Yes, the Samsung TU690T will go put on a screen saver after a certain time of inactivity. To ensure it is on, go to Settings> General> Power and Energy Saving> Screen Saver.

If you want your TV to shut off after a certain amount of inactivity completely, go to Settings> General > Power and Energy Saving> Auto Power Off.

Why are the apps so tiny? How can I get rid of useless apps? Is there another decent remote that work with it?

Thanks for your purchase; I hope you are enjoying it. To move or delete apps from your Menu, press the Home button> Scroll to App> Long hold the Return Key> Move or Delete.

If you would like a different remote, please know that most universal remotes can be programmed with the TU690T TV, and you can utilize the SmartThings app on your cell phone to control your TV.
