If we use a wall mount for this tv, how far down from the ceiling will it need to be, to clear the ceiling? We are finishing our basement, and want to be sure we allow for proper clearance.

The holes to mount the 85" AU8000 TV are 7.5 from the top of the television. I hope that helps!

Will this TV play in "Portrait Mode"? Can I hang it vertically instead of Horizontally?

The Samsung AU8000 TV offers Ambient Mode, which has customizable themes, colors, and photo options. Instead of seeing a blank background when your TV is turned off, you can enhance your screen with landscape images, artwork, and unique scenes. Your photos can also be turned into backgrounds with the My Album feature. Ambient Mode can be accessed directly on your 2021 TV or with the SmartThings app on your phone or tablet.

However, it is not recommended that you hang your TV vertically.

Can I install 3rd party apps? Do i need to by extra equipment to install 3rd party apps?

Will I be able to download the Spectrum, Peacock and Disney+ apps? I know with older models i could not use the Peacock and Disney+ apps.

Yes, Spectrum, Peacock, and Disney+ are all available on the AU8000 TV. If you have an older TV, you might want to check your Firmware to see if there is an update. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update.
