How is this different then the Samsung Q950A? What benefits does this have that the 950A doesn't? Thanks!

The new HW-Q990B Soundbar has features built in that the Q950A doesn't have. One of the major features is the ability to connect with select 2022 Samsung TVs giving you Dolby Atmos over Wi-Fi, you'll no longer need to connect with an HDMI cable to the TV.

The HW-Q990B will be able to give you Q-Symphony over Wi-Fi, Optical or HDMI this year, plus if with the changes to Q-Symphony in our TVs, you can have up to 22 channels of sound connecting the soundbar up to our TVs.

We have redesigned the look and feel of our soundbars in 2022. We have removed the fabric from them and moved the LED display from the top of the soundbar, back to the front for easier use.

The HW-Q990B Soundbar will play Dolby Atmos content on any TV that supports the feature. Wireless Dolby Atmos is an exclusive feature to select 2022 Samsung TVs where you can connect the soundbar over Wi-Fi and still play Dolby Atmos content.

I hooked everything up but can’t hear sound from my additional speakers, can you assist?

Hi Jae,

You can try manually optimizing your settings by selecting the Surround or Standard buttons to change the sound mode. Additionally, Press the BASS + or BASS - buttons to adjust the level of the woofer (bass) between -6 to +6.

With the latest firmware version installed (ver. 1014), press and hold the STANDARD button on the remote control for about 6 seconds then use the Bass Up/Down buttons to adjust the level of the rear speakers between -6 to +6.
