Hi sadie1967! The HW-A550 includes a digital optical cable allowing you to connect to a wide range TVs, even if it is not a Samsung. You can also take advantage of the HDMI connection if your TV does not support digital optical. ^Tim

My HW-Q850A sound bar randomly makes a 2 tone notification type alert while watching tv. I've determined its not the tv and cant figure out why the sound bar is doing this. It is connected to the tv with HDMI. It happens sporadically.

Please try to re-initialize your soundbar by pressing the - + (volume) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT” appears on the display when the soundbar is initialized.

Is there a protective film covering the screen? I purchased this tv and it looks like it has one, but I'm unable to get it off.

Hi Cherie! If there is a protective film on your screen, it will be indicated with a large blue triangle in the upper left corner. The triangle will have an illustration showing how to remove the protective film. If you do not have a blue triangle in the upper left corner, then that means there is no protective film on the screen, please do not try to peel off anything. You will damage what is actually the screen.
