i purchased a q850t soundbar i hooked it up properly but the sound keeps cutting in and out there is an update available will this fix the issue any help would be appreciated

Hi Ron! There are a few things you may want to check:
1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
2) If there is a wall between the sound bar and the subwoofer it may cause interference or not work at all depending on the material in the wall.
3) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency (2.4 GHz) near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
4) Check all of the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. . You can update your firmware by Auto Update or by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your HW-Q850T on the Samsung website.

Is it a malfunction that the volume adjusts itself or is that a result of a particular feature on a particular setting? I'll try to turn it down and it'll go back up. Malfunction?

If my sound isn’t matching up with what’s on screen 100%.. what do I do? It’s not off by much but it is off and I just bought this a few days ago.. quite frustrating.

If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select SYNC in SOUND CONTROL (looks like a gear), and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons. ^Patty

At Christmas, I bought a 55" Q80T television & HW-Q60T soundbar. Despite all settings to the max, the subwoofer output is pathetic. Will a larger subwoofer from an HW-Q850T or other large Samsung subwoofer work with this soundbar? Help!

Do I need to purchase any other HDMI cable other than the one that comes with the soundbar? The Best Buy guy tired to sell me a $70 cable so didn't know if I needed that to make this system sound good.

Connecting your soundbar to the TV with HDMI will give you the best possible audio. HDMI cables transmit sound digitally, which makes everything crystal clear. There are 2 ways to connect your soundbar using HDMI: either by connecting a device to your soundbar (like a Blu-ray player or a video game system) and then connecting the soundbar to the TV, or by using ARC (Audio Return Channel). Use the first method if you want to get the best possible sound from external device you will be regularly using to watch movies or play games. ARC is the way to go if you just have just a TV and a soundbar, and you want great sound from your streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Vudu.

You don't have to purchase an addition HDMI cable unless you will need one to connect an external device to the soundbar, then you will use the included HDMI cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. ^Patty
