Hi Planemark, the subwoofer can have the bass level adjusted up or down at will. The best way to turn it off is to unplug it so it isn't constantly trying to pair with your soundbar. Thanks, ^Scott

can you get all of the local channels without an app or cable box?

There is a noticeable and annoying lag in the audio that can be seen when people are talking. There is no lag when using the cable box audio output to my stereo. Can I stop this lag with the TV speakers? Would a sound bar also have this lag?

Does it have close caption

Hi Kolie, It sure does, from the Home screen, use the directional pad on the TV Remote and select >Settings >General >Accessibility >Caption Settings >Caption on to turn captions on. Select it again to turn them off. I hope this helps, ^Scott
