Burn in
I manly use the TV to play video games. I currently have a Panasonic Plasma which gives a great picture but burn in have happened despite all my efforts to prevent it. It is over 2 years-old and after playing a game for 4 hrs I started to notice some marks.
I'm looking for a TV that I do not need to worry about that. What are your experiences with burn in, video games and this TV?
insanecubanboy,
It's difficult to burn in an LED television, especially compared to a plasma television. Although it is possible if gaming (with static, non-moving images like speedometers, life-bars, and other non-moving graphics) is the majority of the TV's use.
You can also reduce the possibility (or speed) of burn-in by using less-bright settings when possible. I know this isn't good for some gameplay, but a lower brightness and contrast setting can delay burn-in.
Hope that helps. LED will last longer, but we can never guarantee or suggest that burn-in isn't possible. It's not likely for most people, but it's possible for hardcore gamers.
Best to you!
