how do you adlust the picture size? It seems to overlap the screen & the adjustment button on the control doesn't seem to do the job. It's a 51 " pl

samsung plasma set. The regular & HD pictures are different - it almost seems like it's stuck on zoom.
dickUNC,

You'll have aspect ratio settings on both your cable box/satellite box and television.

Make sure for the TV: The picture is set to 16x9.
Make sure for the cable/sat box: The picture is set to 16x9.

Most of the time, one of those two settings are off, and that will cause what you describe here.

Connecting to Verizon FIOS

I need help connecting to Verizon FIOS internet. The SmartHub does not automatically connect with a wired connection.
It may be best to reach out to the Best Buy Geek Squad agents.

Without more information, it's difficult to determine where the problem might be. They may be able to come out and test your connections to make sure everything gets working properly.

what size tv do I need for a room 12 by 16?

It depends on a few factors:

1. How close will you be sitting
2. How much ambient light do you have in the room?
3. Where is the furniture?

These questions are great ones to explore with a salesperson who can help make sense of your TV and Home Theater installation and setup.

Will a Bluetooth device for my hearing aids connected to either the audio outputs or the headset output cut out the regular audio?

I have a Bluetooth device that connects my hearing aids wirelessly to a TV. It is connected to the red and white output sockets on the TV. Alternatively it can be connected to the headset output socket of the TV using an audio cable. Question is will either or both of these connections cut out the regular audio for other TV watchers?
JH,

You don't have to mute the TV speakers to use the External speakers.

I saw that this Smart TV has Direct TV interface. Does it also have DISH TV interface?

I do not like having to juggle remotes. Will the smart remote for this TV be able to marry with my DISH remote so I will only have to use the TV remote?
This model supports RVU-compliance for DirecTV only.

Many Dish remotes can use Samsung TV codes, and it's likely. But this will be determined by your Dish hardware, and the codes for Samsung products would be supplied by Dish.

Glare

Does the flat screen have less glare then a curved. I've read several reviews on the 78" curved and several people commented on the glare. That is why I'm thinking about the 85" with its flat screen.
Bob,

Both sets have minimal glare - unless you really have a true "glare problem" area. (An example would be if you have the sunset behind you with glass plate windows stretching from floor to ceiling).

If you haven't had glare problems in the past ,it's unlikely the glare from either of these sets will pose a major challenge for most people (although some will just be sensitive to it.).

I recommend mounting the TV a little higher and pointing it down just a little if glare is a consistent problem where the TV is placed.

Everyone has their opinions on the subject, but most people who have done this are pretty happy with their purchase.
