If my Home theater receiver do not have HDMI option, Can I send the Audio out from the TV to receiver via optical cable ?

I have yamaha RX-V795a receiver which do not have the HDMI option. Can I take the audio out from the TV via optical / digital audio cable into the receiver and get the same sound quality in 2D & 3D viewing?
I already has 5.1 speakers systems in place for the current rear projection TV.
Can I view the regular DVD (Not the Blue ray) on this TV without HDMI connection (In 2D & 3D) format?

Not all Home Theater systems have the option of sending audio from the TV using HDMI.

The optical cable option will work provided your receiver accepts an optical input. If not, the analog signal from the TV will send the audio just fine that way, also. However, for that, you may need a 3.5mm male to RCA cable, which is not included.

Sending the audio separately from the video will not affect the 3-D viewing.

Regular DVDs can be played in most Blu-Ray players, but you can connect a separate DVD player if you want to using the composite or component inputs.

Not that we're aware of with this model. Some versions are available with some carriers.

Can college Books be downloaded?

Daughter needs to download all her medical books. Would this hold all of her books for a semester? could thy be added to the usb support?

Many formats will be compatible with Samsung Tablets. Nook and Kindle options are just a few of the options available, and PDF files are also supported on Tablets.

You might want to check with your daughter's college institution to find out which format they'll be offering for textbooks - that would allow you to determine if that format is available for the Android OS. If it is, it will work splendidly.

Does the YouTube and Netflix app work.

i have been reading that, the youtube and Netflix apps dont work very well on this tv, especially after a few months. Is this true because my main reason for purchasing is for usage of these apps.

The Apps work just fine, and in some rare cases, we update the servers on our end (Samsung) to create a better experience for our customers. This can cause a temporary outage, and we try to make those as painless (and brief!) as possible when they do happen.

YouTube may allow only certain contents, and Netflix service has been consistent and growing for several years. There's no reason to be concerned that the streaming experience will be anything but great.

may I see movies in 3D in this unit??

I wanna know if this unit is compliant with 3D features

This model is the UN46F6300, and it does not have 3-D.

3-D capabilities come on most of the televisions starting at the UNxxF6400 models and higher.
