The software can vary from laptop models, but if Microsoft Office isn't available pre-installed, it can be downloaded from Microsoft directly, or you could purchase an edition of Office products from Best Buy directly. The download version will offer a trial period of a month before a registration key must be purchased.

None of our laptops come with full versions of Office pre-installed at the time of this posting.

What's likely happening is that your wrist is brushing up against the touchpad, which may be quickly highlighting text, and replacing it with what you're typing at the moment.

One recommendation might be to use a USB mouse, and change your mouse settings to "disable the touchpad when the USB mouse is attached". This way, whenever you're typing and have your mouse plugged in, you're not brushing against the touchpad.
